More specifically the Ebisu track? Just cant seem to nail first place. Ordinary steering lag is part of the reason. Ive tried the Supra and R32.

I used the BMW M3 E30 Sport Evolution (stock) handles really well. The Mazda RX-7 works too as I found out in one of the time attack races.

If it's the race I'm thinking of I used an AE86. I might have upgrade the brakes, and maybe add an air filter or something, but not much.

Yeah this race seems way ahead of itself in terms of difficulty. I started with a supra with almost no upgrades but all the other cars had a lot of upgrades done to them and were blowing me away. I made some changes, tuned the car for turning and souped it up quite heavily, all to no avail. I normally play on medium difficulty but even dropping it to easy made no difference for this event.

its a very tight track. You HAVE to be aggressive about it. I used an R32 and have won many times with it. The key on that track is out braking and out accelerating the competition. Its an annoyingly tight track, so its all about getting into turns and out of turns faster then everybody else.

I ended up beating it with a Supra.I had to set-up the suspension with a slight understeer so i could really put the pedal down.

I'd recommend the AE86 with just minor upgrades as well, it did the trick for me, too. You can usually outbrake the competition, but you'll have to take chances and drive a little dirty at times...
