What cars and tracks should you be able to download, for GT4 online for the new 40GB HDD coming out for PS2.

Who said the HDD will be supported by GT4?

This sounds like a guessing game to me.

Yeah but they might make a update online, that you can make the game work with the HDD.

We don't even know what cars and tracks are going to be in GT4. How are we supposed to know what cars and tracks will be available to be downloaded?

Pretty sure it was confirmed a while ago that the HDD would be supported by GT4.

Yep, it was confirmed by Sony and PD that GT4 will use the HDD, in what way though is unclear.

Ummm yea I remember at IGn that they have confirmed that GT4 will support the HDD, I mean please do research before giving someone an attitude about

 far too many people with attitudes on here.

Back to the question in hand. Maybe, just maybe this is how Ferrari and Lamborghini might make it into the game. If they are going to be included in some way, but they release the game before EA's license runs out, maybe they would let you download those cars if/when they get the nod from Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Cheers

Jamie

I hope they do allow you to download cars and tracks, but I think PD would only put only a few actual cars availble to download, and sell others on DVDs or something to that effect. But then again, who knows? Only God and Sony.

Look! It's another thread of inane speculation.

I'm all for discussing aspects of GT4 and all that, but let's have a bit of sanity in the way we go about it. We're still at least 5 months out and we're discussing what we should be able to download for GT4? Can you actually think of a more vague topic?

Ferrari, Porsche, Lamboghini, ever car and track in the world. Any serious post is going to go back over everything we've already repeatedly seen in "Tracks you want in GT4" and "Cars you want in GT4" threads around the boards.

I'd love to be able to download any car ever made. Of course this is quite impossible, considering the time it takes to build just one model to the quality PD puts out.

I don't see being able to download cars in GT4. But by the time GT5 comes out on PS3, I'd be surprised if you couldn't download new cars.

I don't see anything that specifically states that the HDD won't be supported.

There are very few facts related to GT4 at the moment.

That info is from the E3 fact sheet handed out at this year's E3. No one said it wouldn't be supported, but currently it is not.

You should take a nap, Klos. You seem cranky.

I'm just yawning. I'm neither tired nor cranky.

How do you know it currently isn't supported? The game hasn't even been released yet.

I don't know. I'm laying out the facts and so far, it is not supported. PD handed out that fact sheet two weeks ago, so it's as up to date as you can get.

I think a better question would be... Will "Modders" Be able to create their own cars that can be downloaded and used?

Hopefully (and most probably) not, just take a look at NFS Cars in the NFS4 section although some cars look quite stunning like those Martin Leps has made some cars from other authors are terrible and very amatuer. Crappy looking cars are not needed in GT4 and the only way i would like to see this is that if all uploaded cars went through strict quality controls at Polyphony Digital.

Back to the actual question however i would like to wait and see which cars are actually included before speculating which i would like to add to it. A feature i would like to see is the ability to download new race series's to make thew game even longer.

Why download new race series? There won't be that much more variety they can add. You'll do better to enter in one of the many online race series being held by the people here and at other sites (I hear there are other GT sites, I know, it amazed me too). People are a lot more entertaining than the AI will ever be.

If cars are going to be added, PD will be the only ones doing the adding.
