My brother currently has a Golf R (with an ECU tune) and previously owed a C4 Corvette and two other VeeDubs.

Can really only comment on the Z since it's the only car I've driven hard / fast on a track and GT6's version feels about right. Despite being a FR it slightly under steers due to the factory staggered tire setup. In fact most cars understeer a touch in stock form as a safety measure, the idea that stock cars (even powerful ones) slide and drift wildly throughout corners is a bit unrealistic. What you see the guys doing in Top Gear is purposely tossing the cars off balance to make entertaining TV. Getting the rear of the Z to kick out is easy... it just requires a sharp, slow turn with a full throttle exit. Or turning OFF the VDC (traction control) or a quick downshift. But when driven properly (slow in / fast out) it's not smoking the rear tires and getting sideways.

Some simple cars but neither are in the game. 07 Civic EX and a 2000 E46 wagon that's a project car. It'll be dubbed M Practical once it's done.

So far apart from a784speed with his AMG and nik0s with his Z4M and M3 no one here has what can be classed as a sports or supercar! Hot hatches and saloons certainly cannot be counted in there. And posting 'my neighbour or someone 2 blocks away has x,y and z' is just a waste of time!
I assume my dad's GT-R Concept Race Car isn't enough for you.

I drive a '96 Mazda Miata. Closest in-game match would be the '97 SR-Limited, only mine does not have LSD.

Nothing in game, but have driven the Lotus Turbo Esprit, Porsche 928S and ridden around a track (Portland International Raceway) in a BMW M3 and Shelby Mustang GT 500.

My Accord had no ABS or TCS needless to say I turn square. I have had some fun times controling that sucker thru powerslides. And managed to get to 120. Come to think of it I may just buy the 88 accord and compare.

My 1st and current pride and joy. Opel Corsa B :)

I currently own a Evo 9 RS, and have owned a couple of 240's. A S13 with a sr20det swap and a stock S14 as a daily driver. I have driven so many cars as I worked for Enterprise Rent a Car and would constantly take brand new cars out for spirited test drives. And I mean spirited because it was located in an industrial area and I could do pretty much anything I wanted. Then I moved on to working for automotive shop where I was also able to take cars out for test drives since local body shops and dealerships would use us to align their cars and rebuild suspension.

Personally I believe the Evo's are tamed down in the game. It's close but the cars are extremely capable stock around a track and even better when modified. Currently Evo's hold the majority of Time attack records around the world. At limit the US models tend to understeer a little, but that can be worked out with modifications. So yeah I'm a little disappointed in the Evo line up.

The Silvia/S chassis are pretty close to in game. Although in real life the S chassis is a very balanced car in stock form, and when modified properly. They are very predictable, easily initiated controlled slides. In the game I feel they are a little off but not enough to complain about. I have also driven a LS2 powered 240sx, but sadly we don't get engine swaps.

I have had some time with a NSX and in game they feel quite similar. The back end swings around when pushed and you can really feel the weight, but other than that the car is very stable. Although some of the NSX's in the game are obviously overdone in performance.

I could go on, but I feel three cars is enough.

I own a car from the game but it's only a 2.5 V6 Alfa 156. Certainly sounds a lot better in real life!

2005 Seat Leon Cupra R. Gran Turismo never lets me drive one only the soppy Ibiza.:irked:

No, it's not - because it's not yours!!! The thread starter asked "if any of you guys or gals own any Sports or Super cars" NOT if your mum, dad, brother, sister or Fred Bloggs 2 streets away has so and so car! It's all a matter of reading the original question correctly.

Haha, good stuff Johnboy! You tried the last generation LCR? Cracking motor, bit of a bargain too now!

Backing up what @RampageRacing said, I have an '89 MR2 and have driven my dads '93 MR2 and both in-game are way to squirrely. I have given up on tuning the cars and just keep them for looks.
Some of my previous cars have included a '96 MR2 GT T-bar, same engine & specs as the '97 G-Limited in game.
I felt the same way, I had a lot more fun IRL than in the game.
I also had a '00 VW Golf IV GTI, game version was lightly modded to match the minor mods I had installed and felt pretty good, though maybe a little on the heavy side.
... and a '97/98 Nissan 300ZX TT, however this belonged to my brother but I had the pleasure of driving it occasionally. GT5/6 seem to have this pretty well matched, though IRL the car does seem to have a little more grip and less understeer. Having said that I only ever took it to about 120mph and mostly on motorways.

06 Evo 9 MR With HKS Sport exhaust and a tune running about 375bhp.

In the game, for what $60,000, car is only capable of 560hp. I could hit that number for about $8,000 in parts on my real car. The Mitsubishi 4 cylinders are underpowered in gran turismo.

Know somebody with a stock evo 9 MR that did 1:48 around Mazda Laguna Seca. And that's relatively close to what you can achieve in the game.

My brother has an '03 350Z with a '98 Chaser 1JZ swap. This isnt possible in gran turismo lol.

And to XPOWER180, I would consider an evo a sports car. Top Gear showed that I can take a Lamborghini and that is not practical. That's all you need for sport class lol

Cant say i have sir:drool: Must admit mines had rather too many niggles for me to try another.

Yeah Evo is 100% a sports car!! I should have clarified, I was referring more to the every day saloons/sedans and hatches as opposed to stuff in the mold of an Evo, Impreza and so forth. Evo X is the next car on my hit list, just need a buyer for the current runner!

*edited post 20 for clarification :-)*

I had a vauxhall calibra. Brilliant car to drive. Seating position was so low made all 4x4 seem like a monster truck next to you

I have owned an Impreza classic turbo, and an Impreza blobeye STi with PPP. With regards to driving dynamics, they are a fair approximation of the real thing, but not perfect, and from an engine noise perspective I would struggle to award more than 0/10.

No subaru burble. So disapointing

I personally have owned a 1965 Mustang with the 289hi performance and 650 Holley.
It's not the GT350 but they handle similar.
I also owned a 1995 v-tec Integra from Acura and I would say this one was the closer to accurate in game of my cars owned.
I currently own a 2001 Audi S4 which is a B5 model like the 1998 version in the game. 2002 became the B6 model. This one is the least accurate in both feel, sound ect.

I have an 06 cadillac cts-V (V1), lacking on power compared to the newer in game version (V2). Still a great car to drive and look at.

Also have a 87 firebird formula with a 350 and 4 speed Muncie. Close to the 88 iroc in game! Another great car to drive and look at.

Also first car was an 86 regal! I still drive the grand national and re-live the glory days! Oh glory days!!!!

Which GT-R Concept Race Car?

The one in Gran Turismo isn't real as far as I'm aware.

There was a guy who has a GT-R, can't remember if it was on here or somewhere else who said the GT5 version was pretty accurate.

There are several GT-R owners here. I know one of them (MC, I believe) is a moderator and co-founder of nagtroc/gtrlife.com and he has a 2012 Black Edition.

Personally, I haven't pushed my '09 GT-R hard enough to tell the difference. It does seem like having infinite amount of grip from my spirited driving. Kind of makes me want something that's slower and more fun to toss around, like a Subaru BRZ.

My first car was a Citroën Saxo VTS with a sports exhaust, race manifold and a few other stupid things. It broke down every third month. Well, not really broke down, but part(s) of it did.

So I bought a Toyota Aygo instead. Cheap to keep running. Goes further on a litre of gas.. I bought it used when it was 2,5 years old and had gone 65000 km.. It did cost what would be $12.000.. Cars are expensive in Denmark.

Of cars actually in the game, only the VW Beetle.

My "real" car is a 96 WS6 Firebird Formula 6 speed, 11" wide rear wheels, some rear suspension upgrades to make it track better. On the nitrous, it has 450hp/550tq to the flywheel.

If I named all the cars I've owned, we'd be 15 deep. All the cars I have access to would be in the thousands since I work for a Nissan dealer. The most impressive thing to me on the GTR is the brakes. It's one of those "stop on a dime and give you 9 cents change" cars, absolutely ridiculous. People always tell you to hang on in launch control, but they never say anything about your face staring at the seat when you lay off in the binders.

Well for one thing you probably know my car
<---

And my mom just got a Prius C (aqua) and my brother has my mom's old 2004 Prius(touring one just without fog lights). So yeah that's all well and good.

The AE86 is slow yet awesome and fun to drive and I love it to death. While the Prius C and the Prius are...well slow. They even got that slight understeer before big oversteer right on the 8-6. It's great! Everything feels so controllable and direct like you should driving an AE86, and since it's not very fast stock you can polish your technique easily before tuning it up to make it actually fast!

The AE86 is awesome and I'm lucky to have one :) Even if it's slow =P
