I assume that there will be a leader board for each car on every track. I haven't done the math but I assume thats about 70,000 different leader boards each showing the times for the top 100 on that track and a ghost for the top 10.

I am curious, what do people think will be the main leader board that will carry the most prestige. Personally I think the full Nurburgring is going to be right up there, but then comes the question of which car.

To get into the top 100 can be quite tough and to keep there even tougher. You have to master a car and get a good feel for it. This means not driving other cars and focusing on one, then learning the braking points and lines for that car on that circuit. With so many different car/track combinations, my question is, what do you think you will focus on the most as soon as you get your hands on the game?

I'm sure Le Mans will be heavily contested but if it's in Spa would surely be considered prestige. I'd imagine Ferrari and Lamborghini will be the top tier marques.

iId imagin a lot of people (me included) will try and perfect their top gear test track times. With Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and the veyron.

Yeah I have 100% fate that Spa will make the cut. It's definitely going to have the most activity along with the Nurburgring and Top Gear if it makes it in.

Very good question.

At the moment I would say Top gear TT, Le Mans, Rome, Madrid.

If GT5 does have a leaderboard for each car on every track then my word that is a hotlappers dream. I always aim for a top 20 position when it comes to hotlapping but considering the number of people likely to hotlap on GT5 I feel I should be satisfied with top 100.

I always tend to stick to slower cars on small tracks. Like, say, a Ford Fiesta on Eiger.

I don't know why. I just prefer street cars on winding tracks to supercars on large ones.

Definitely Red rock valley and some sort of Honda material......or Daihatsu Midget with twin turbo hyabusa.

edit: am i dreaming again??????:nervous:

Very Very likely to be on the ring(Nordschleife layout)with the RB X prototype looking for the world record on that one,and maybe if there is the pikes peak record as well with the escudo.

For short circults - use cars of FF or MR drivetrain like Evora .
Longer tracks - cars with good accel and handling like GTR v spec.

I have no idea. There will be no particular but likely a group cars from the same class. I have always liked comparing similar cars on certain tracks.

For now though as Monza is new, I think that will take some of my time up.

If Spa is there, then Spa for me, and as others already foresaw, pretty much all the Lambos and Ferraris, what can I say, they are just awesome cars.

I always spend a ton of time at midfield. I'm looking forward to lapping it in the 2D as well as pretty much everything else on the new physics engine.

Suzuka, after spending so much time on it in GT4, it soon became a favourite. It's it's on GT5 ofcourse, which I'm sure it is.

I'll be avoiding the individual leaderboards and focusing on the monthly world TT's instead.

I don't worry about the boards at all, TT's are aim'd at beating my own times mostly with me.

beating my own times

I hear that alot around here. I like seeing how close I can get to the worlds best which means I'm automatically trying to best my own times in the process. I've finished inside the top 5 twice on GT5p but I've never been the quickest. It's more interesting than racing myself imo.

I think I will focus most of my time to monthly events, and driving on Tsukuba :)

Very nice congrats, I'm not a huge fan of online gaming and the overall time trials as of yet. Every game I have played so far online have taken advantage of cheats and glitchs : (. Plus no racing wheel so no top spots : (

Give me the high performance street cars, give me the Eiger Nordwand, I'm not coming out of my room for 2 months. Bye.

I can tell you that i'll be lapping the TopGear Test Track in a Suzuki Liana, Chevy Lacetti or a Kia Cee'd :D
I will also be using the Nurburgring a lot but as to which car i am undecideddd :)

I love the city courses (exept hongkong).
but I really can't teel yet what course I'll be driving most. there are so many good tracks.

Launa Seca, nordschleiffe, trailmountain, seatle (if it's in) and so on.

The cars are also something I really don't know.
I surely will try the Ferrari's and Lambo's but mostly will be driving the Japanese GT cars.

but ask me again in februari and it might turnout completly different ;)
