I agree with you, Simon. The lack of statement and the unsure future of the Motorsport series has made me look elsewhere.
Now, I have had some thoughts about getting a Ras1lution wheel converter for my Thrustmaster TS-XW-wheel, buy a PS5 and try GT7, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Have anyone here had any experience with that wheel converter? For those of you that have played both FM 23 and GT7, how does the physics compare on a wheel?
If I'm not getting a PS5 I'm probably just going to play AC1, finish up all the races in FM 23 and then wait for AC Evo's console release.
I've got a ras1ution2, it's not perfect, but does work, you have to fiddle with the thing on startup to get it connected, so it's not just plug & play, but for me my Moza setup is much cheaper than a PS5 compatible wheel with similar torque, plus I bought Moza when the ESX was announced assuming I'd be playing FM2023 for years to come.
If you can source a PS4 Pro for cheap, that may be a good way to test the waters, that's what I'm using and it's perfectly servicable, but obviously a bit of a step down from a modern PC or Series X.
If it helps, I bought a sub for PSPlus a couple weeks ago, did maybe 5-10 daily races on GT7, alternating with LMU for a week, but haven't booted up my PS4 for a good week now. LMU scratches the same itch in terms of pick up and play, especially if you are fine with either LMP2 or GT3, I can boot the game up, and for the most part a new race is starting within 10mins of me starting up, with 3mins practice and 5mins qualifying, then 20min race, you can get a couple races done in an hour.
