Had a fun day in GT today. Updated the game, of course bought the Escudo and also the '32 Ford.
Started by making a SoCal look for the Roadster with some Torque Thrusts. It's a pretty fun drive. Did an arcade race at the glen with it and beat up on all the painfully slow AI. The '32 is surprisingly manageable, can slide around well, and seems like it will be more useful than being just a pretty thing to look at.

Then I took the Escudo and put the
proper Desmond wheels on it (Spoon SW388) to top out the nostalgia meter, and went to the Alsace TT to throw down some laps. Have a 1:37.551 at the moment which is good for within 2% of the fast time, and top 5% of players, which feels pretty good. Definitely more work to do. I want to be solidly in the 36s, and it's definitely doable. Smoothness, straight line braking, perfect shifts, and maximizing exit speed are all your friends in this challenge. It can be feisty.

After that I cooled off with a 930 Porsche at St. Croix B. I've been using cockpit more and more, and also turning off all the HUD for a more "pure" experience when just driving for fun. It really is a pleasant way to play, but even with the view all the way back, mirrors are still not that useable, and awareness of surrounding cars is tough, so I still don't use cockpit for any worthwhile racing. It is great for an immersive, simple drive though.
Hope everyone else has been enjoying themselves this week as well. It's nice to have some things to celebrate in GT.
