What did you do in GT7 today?

I also bought the 1932 Ford today since I am a biased American.

With some tuning, it isn’t that bad to drive. It’s actually fairly good. I was able to tune it to 550PP and easily beat the American FR Challenge 550 races at Willow Springs and Watkins Glen.

Just manage the throttle properly and you’ll be fine. Maybe I will slap on the comfort softs, tune it to 450PP and run it in Daily Race A for 💩s and gigs tomorrow.
You definitely should take it to Laguna - handles surprisingly well and so growly.

One of these things is not like the others.
Imagine turning up in a tuned Atenza and being passed by an antique :D

Did WTC700 Le Mans and bought the Ford and the Mean Machine 😈

Got an Engine swap for the drift BRZ too! Wasn't expecting another 6 Star Part Ticket

Then I was bored and did another Gr 3 Enduro at Nurburgring with the time set to 15x to finally do a 24h race in 1 hour.

Well well well.. LoL.. so i'm posting a day late (as always).. yesterday, ahhhhhh, spent the entire evening zip'n around in my Golf-GTI-VGT

VW-GTI-VGT-00.jpg

doing time trials & arcade races, at Deep Forest, The Ring & Trial Mountain, for more than anything just to get a nice feel for that GTI (the response & cornering are amazing).. anyways, long story short after I hit my daily marathon, I get a 2 star roulette ticket, and what do I get ????

half-mil.jpg

500k !!!!.. go figure.. after all the 5's & 10's, they throw me another bone!.. & really, I was in shock, all these stacks of bars rollin' by, usually it's just stacks of low or big coin, but this time it was like Fort Knox, nothing but stacks of bars, and when that half mil. showed up, I damn near s*** myself.. LoL!

.. hard not to love this game & George Costanza.. yessir!

On the GTP account, I got the rest of the S-license golds (needed the electronic aids for S-10 again), then got CE golds at the 3 Willow Springs tracks. For my troubles, the 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. prize. It was still enough to get the Cobra 427.

On the Plus account, I did the Gone with the Wind missions where they provide the car to gold standard (needing the electronic aids in the Spa pass and the abuse of the controller for the drift). The 4-star Wheel of Despair did the low-cash (though not lowest possible) 30,000 Cr.

Came back to the Plus account after the UCD refresh to buy the 1992 NSX and win the NSX Gr.B from the Honda extra menu book

Had a fun day in GT today. Updated the game, of course bought the Escudo and also the '32 Ford.

Started by making a SoCal look for the Roadster with some Torque Thrusts. It's a pretty fun drive. Did an arcade race at the glen with it and beat up on all the painfully slow AI. The '32 is surprisingly manageable, can slide around well, and seems like it will be more useful than being just a pretty thing to look at.

Then I took the Escudo and put the proper Desmond wheels on it (Spoon SW388) to top out the nostalgia meter, and went to the Alsace TT to throw down some laps. Have a 1:37.551 at the moment which is good for within 2% of the fast time, and top 5% of players, which feels pretty good. Definitely more work to do. I want to be solidly in the 36s, and it's definitely doable. Smoothness, straight line braking, perfect shifts, and maximizing exit speed are all your friends in this challenge. It can be feisty.

After that I cooled off with a 930 Porsche at St. Croix B. I've been using cockpit more and more, and also turning off all the HUD for a more "pure" experience when just driving for fun. It really is a pleasant way to play, but even with the view all the way back, mirrors are still not that useable, and awareness of surrounding cars is tough, so I still don't use cockpit for any worthwhile racing. It is great for an immersive, simple drive though.

Hope everyone else has been enjoying themselves this week as well. It's nice to have some things to celebrate in GT.

Yeah I need to get into the custom races again. Just need some more time to let the annoyances fade (settings resetting all the time, weather moving at supersonic speed for anything less than a 4 hour race, terrible cheating AI). It's mostly the AI that's keeping me away and not being able to save a long endurance race to continue later.

Thing is, race C is quite fun in GT Sport this month (ugh), hence the ease of doing a couple Sardegna races instead of going through the trouble of setting up an endurance race with custom garage cars with the very real risk something goes wrong and have to start from scratch again. Then get annoyed by the AI cheating in wet driving conditions.

Yep, it can be really really good, but I wish PD would add some QoL features to custom races. For now GT Sport is perfectly capable of scratching that competitive racing itch and Forza 7 is keeping me entertained with its single player campaign. GT7 can mature a bit first.
I would just wait until they get the crap together. It's a downer with these small updates, it feels like it is a skeleton crew running PD. The new track is awesome, let's put 3 events on it and not add ANYTHING else to the other tracks. And let's make the payouts small and just skip fixing everything else that is a problem with the single player side, like custom races..

In all seriousness, they have to be working on something else than GT7, one month and this is what they can up with...

Jesus, top 2 pics in particular, genuinely thought it was from RL, not in game...

Purchased the Escudo, Suzuki Gr.3 and the '32 Ford. As well as grabbing the Suzuki Cappuccino and Lancia Stratos from the used car lot. Golded all the S License tests, which I'm more than glad to finally get out of the way.

Need to practice the Escudo time trial more. Best time I've managed so far is a 1:42 something. Gold is probably beyond my reach but I'm sure that I can get silver at least.

I did some post-midnight work on the GTP account, cleaning out the gold from the rest of the Americas Circuit Experiences and Goodwood. I spent too much time at Goodwood, especially since the 3-star marathon roulette was the lowest-possible 5,000 Cr. I won't mention the other, more lucrative activities that won't be repeated on the Plus account for a few reasons.

Out of interst how comes you run 2 accounts?

Did this today. Did some laps at Watkins Glen, and as I’m driving round the track think “this is the probably the best track on the game“, I decided to try it out in cockpit view. Genuinely a great experience. Not a huge fan of cockpit view but this felt good driving this track. If you get chance give it a go for a lap or two.

Also feel free to criticise my driving 😀

I did the 3 new races at Watkins Glen, first one with the Ford Roadster, second while the Shelby Cobra, last one with the Escudo. Great track, boring races. PD forgot to add rain for Watkins Glen :/ No night either.

I did the track experience as well, just bronze for now. I'll get the gold after the track has been in the dailies. More fun to learn the track that way. I love the long sweeping corners but kinda hesitant about all the dive bomb corners in the track. I assume it will be in the rotation next week, will see then.

And the rest of the time, watching tv while gathering engines :/

I didn't visit the cafe a lot, because I don't bother using the new engines anyway. Raced around Laguna in the Ford 32 for a bit, now representing Aston at Daytona.
