The Renault R5 Turbo....I remember I test drove it some months ago while I was downsizing my virtual garage and that car was a let go and not a keeper. Few used cars dealership rotations later I bought another one "just" to fill up my Nordschleife lap time board and.... The car feels fine now. (To me at least).

What a nice surprise that is! I guess along the way some update changed the suspension values and that made a difference?

Anyways... The car has that boxy style that screams 80's and we all love, it drives fine in the stock settings and comfort tyres. The body roll is just perfect and so is the power. The only bad thing I'd put my finger on it, would be the awful coloured interior. 😅

Been using TCS on 2 and ABS default.
Moved to TCS 1 and ABS weak and find it quicker for me

Update !
After more testing i have reverted to TC 2 and ABS default as accepted slightly better overall especially on higher powered cars.

I adjusted the supension and differential on the Ferrari 308 rally car. It had too much stability, which led to some understeer issues, especially on tarmac. After the tweaks it got more responsive and driving on gravel is great fun.

That interior is a masterpiece. Far from being awful!
 
I did two 10 lap races at Le Mans in VR with my G29 wheel. The first was in the Jaguar group C car and I did a 3:40 fastest lap. The second race was in my trusty 962 Newman car. Fastest lap was 3:44. In VR with a DS5 I do a 3:37. I'm losing a lot of time with the wheel.

Finally decided to do an engine swap or two with everything upgraded to the max. Here are the first drives

Renault R8 Gordini


Encouraged by that experience, followed up with a Citroën DS21 (still on SS tires, I spent all my money in the upgrades 😂)


Both were surprisingly enjoyable to drive.
 
I took the Honda F1 race car to LeMans. It was fun to drive. Last time I took it out was about 6 months ago and I was doing a lot of sliding and spinning. This time I made sure to increase my braking distance to cut down on sliding. That helped a lot. I ran FM1 on RM tires and surprisingly I had a no rain race so I did a no stop race. Bought a couple of cars from UCD: Speed Six and some of the low mileage cars. Got 10k cr from a 4 😜🌟 🎫. Made my choices for the next GT WS race.
 
The Countach LP400 came to the LCD in a color I happen to fancy (that orange) and I finally pulled the trigger. I am blown away by how it drives. It reminds me a bit of the TVR Tuscan in the way it just punches forward in each gear, something about the very low weight, aggressive gear ratios (well, after the super tall first gear), and abundance of torque - the thing is quick! Around Deep Forest its nearly as fast in my hands on CS tires as a 996 GT3 is on SH tires and a full 5 seconds faster than a stock Porsche 930. I was not expecting that. And forget about the Ferrari Testarossa, it's not even in the same league. I also wasn't expecting it to be as lovely to drive as it is....you kind of just smear it around the course in delicate four wheel drifts. The interior is also a far nicer thing to look at than the later Countach variants. This thing is awesome!

It's arguably much better looking as well (than the 25th Anniversary). I've always had a soft spot for the OG Countach. It has a much more pure design language. Simple and elegant.

For me its not arguable, it's simply a fact. The LP400 is a landmark piece of industrial design that later models confused, particularly the "high body" cars which really messed with the proportions.
 
In stock form this beauty has 103 horsepower.

Add 431 more horses, remove around 400 pounds of body weight and do some other expensive tweaks, then replace the Comfort tires with Sports Soft and the result is a Fun Machine! Steer-By-Throttle™ is a big part of the fun.

Here it is today, driven badly, but with enthusiasm.

 
Started up a second PSN account to make a fresh start in Gran Turismo. Forgot about the dreadful beginning being tedious and utterly boring. Deleted the account again 🤣.

Then I booted up my current account and put a V10 LFA engine in the Supra GR and blasted it around the track. It's an expensive swap but it's worth it and still cheaper than the original LFA...but it's not an LFA of course.
 
I've been running the Sardegna grind race ever since it became available to me in the game, using the same car for every run - and it's the only thing I've used that specific car for. The odometer reads just over 40,000 miles right now (roughly 850 runs) - all of it Sardegna grind miles. Even though I have all the cars now I still run the grind race pretty much every morning. It's something closer to a morning meditation aid than anything else at this point lol. Unless I've had a really disastrous run, I basically always finish more than a minute up on the rest of the field in the race but this morning for the first time ever, I lapped the entire field.

I took the P330 to LeMans for time trials. The 330 is one of my favorite cars to drive. Got 10k cr from 4 star ticket

Since I‘ve lost hope in the Ferrari 488 GTE ever coming to Gran Turismo I took matters into my own hands and tried to get the 458 as close as possible to the original car. This is a replica of Risi Competizione‘s 488 GTE from the 2019 Daytona 24h.

Friday night I set a lap time in the Gr3/Suzuka lap time challenge and did 3 out of 5 weeklies.

On Saturday I completed the rest of the weeklies and also made an entry in the 962C/Monza LTC.

I'm planning on trying some engine swapps again, so I bought new copies of some cars and installed the respective swapps. Being one of them the lovely lovely Silvia Q's '88.

The best part of my digital life car this weekend was the proposed challenge in the COTW thread: A lap around Fuji in the Nissan GT-R '24.

Back in the day I made tons of liveries playing Assetto Corsa and even got special requests from virtual racing teams. I also created a generic livery series for a competition organised by RaceDepartment. I had so much fun with it and sometimes it earned me a few dollars. With the kids growing up and family life taking over, also the breakdown of my pc, it came to an end but now I relive a bit of that after +10yrs with GT7 and this forum.

It's really cool and lovely to see all these nice creations for various cars and some really stand out. Like yours. You're doing a great job. Which editor do you use? I used GIMP 2.8 back then, an open source photo and design program. It took me a year to get myself educated and it was perfect for the templates of Assetto Corsa.

Today I went karting with my 14yr old son. I am a veteran at 44yr of age but the experience is as much worth as skills. My son has been racing karts - amateur level - since he was 10yrs old. Today we encountered 3 semi-pro young guns with their go pro cameras mounted and we had a blast. Just 17 thousands behind the leader I came in second and my son 3rd before the other 2. Our advantage was that we know the track and the 3 young guns ran there for the first time. Still it was a very satisfying stint. Afterwards we chatted about the race and racing karts, my son got congratulations with his skills and I was content I still got it. The winning semi-pro will also feature my son on his TikTok video to show how my son defended his position very successfully.

At home I started up GRAN TURISMO and created a new livery for the N-One. I raced the event and also a one on one with another personal painted N-One at Tsukuba circuit.

Then I raced the WTC 900 event at Spa for 3 times before winning it. I had a great time today. 🥇😊👌
