What did you do in GT7 today?

Thanks, well, I once place 4th there, in the WTC 600, but for the life of me I can't remember with what. All I want is a car build that doesn't stress me and can reliably grind there without having to resort to lowering the difficulty.

I'm tinkering with the Honda NSX (2017) and I think I'm close to something.
RX7 or RX8 with the 787B swap on SH tires. You'll do the entire race with no stops. (unless I'm confusing the events)

Stock Jag 220 with very little adjustments

Recreated Vista AF Corse‘s cars from last year‘s 24h of Le Mans. One of my favorite color schemes for the 296 GT3!

Fresh from using the 787B in the new Daytona Time Trial, returned to the WTC700 at the 24 Heures du Mans race track with the same car. That car has an incredible fuel range, and on lap 1 the possibility of a zero-pit-stop race popped into my head. This was inspired by an early remaining-range estimate of 6 laps.

The weather cooperated and with a fuel mapping of FM2, experienced my first-ever non-stop and fastest finish ever at 30:56.624.

Here's what inspired the idea of "non-stop"...

Today I collected 250,000 cr from the Pagani Zonda online time trial and then I ran 8 laps into the Lexus LC500 at Watkins Glen time trial. To my surprise I cleared the silver time for the first time! So that's 1 million credits coming in the future.

The 4-star ticket earned me a crummy exhaust, so I went and completed the weekly events (with Porsche @ Spa) and got 135,000 cr with the clean race bonus, plus the 500,000 cr reward.

So, 885,000 cr in one seating, and 1 million deferred, not bad.

Had some fun races in Sammysnake's aka the "fastest snake in the world" or so he claims lol. His lobby was very fun and did a mix of wacky races and competition races in gr.3, check out this fun and nutty Rally race we had. More will be uploaded soon!

I just don't like the boaty handling of that Lexus!

Yeah, I noticed, but the engine is powerful so it can get fast. The thing that worked for me was to change from trying to trail brake (or what I think is trail braking) to just stab the brakes hard and downshift at the corner's entry and before the apexes and get through the bus stop as smooth and straight as I could, and that did it.

I'll give that a go!

When all that mass is moving one way, getting it to move in the opposite direction without losing the plot is an interesting challenge, especially since it's suspended on marshmallows. It's rewarding when you get the timing right 😀

Today I learned I can use the Data Logger to examine how the Demo Driver positions its car

Works in the License Tests and Circuit Experience for example

EDIT: The key point is that the Demonstration driver MUST follow clean lap rules. I can see which parts of the tracks have some latitude for "crossing the line".

EDIT2: Here's a Circuit Experience example...

Just earned the Platinum trophy earlier today

I was missing the Daily Races trophy for the longest time. I don’t run them often but just got an itch to try to claw back to A+ / S after having a disastrous couple of races back in late 2024

Gold on Super License S-10, Porsche 917 at Spa-Francorchamps. Probably 1,000 attempts over the past week. Felt a lot like Sisyphus tbh. Attempt 386 today I finished at 2:24.004. Lovely, right? Took another 18 attempts to finally come in at 2:23.384.

Today I learned that the 787B's on-dash FUEL warning light comes on coordinated with the change of colour in the GT HUD and at around 10% full.

I did the 296 GTB race at Yas Marina and other stuff here and there for the daily mileage, and the ticket got me a Lexus stock RC F.

I figure the Ferrari is a good car to practice/learn Yas Marina for those who dislike the track (maybe just because its Yas Marina).

On a whim I brought the Lexus RCF GT500. I love the look of it and I'm a Nick Cassidy fan so it has that appeal to me. But ah geez louise this thing is quick out of the box.

Hope the LCF GT500 car gets added one day because I love the look of it too. At least it lives on in Super GT in GT300 form.

Did my usual and won an Alfa Romeo Giulia engine swap from a 4 star ticket.

Bought another BMW M3 Sport Evolution from the UCD, but would someone please tell me how in the blue hell does a B58 GR Supra engine swap makes sense ? These two items are not even remotely close

I finished the weekly challenge with the WTC 800 race (chase) at Dragon Trail Seaside reverse. Do you agree that track flows much better in that direction? Anyways, easy win with the Ferrari 296 GT3. The six-star roulette ticket got me another F3500-B car that I instantly sold, and the daily roulette ticket (6-star parts) got me... a carbon shaft for the NSX '17, which I did install.

Earning the F3500-B raised my collector level to 60, and the purchase of the Toyota GT One raised it again to 61. With the Toyota I went to Fuji Speedway and won 1 of the 3 Historic Sport Car Master races for that menu. Indeed, a pay to win event, in this case a stiff 2,500,000 cr.
