Finally got a clean P1 for the WTC 800 round at Daytona. I only beat the leader by less than two-tenths, too! I started on Racing Hards, and I accidentally got a new set of them when I pitted for fuel when I could've easily gotten away without changing tires. I then obtained a one-star ticket that netted me 10k credits, which isn't the worst, but I would've preferred the Honda Civic Type R '15 or the KTM X-Bow that I saw in the roulette. What's interesting to me is that I saw the Civic in two of the roulette slots, and both were white, too.

Events raced;

  • Barcelona. All sectors and the full lap gold achieved in Circuit Experience.
  • Sainte-Croix. All sectors gold achieved, only the full lap left in Circuit Experience.
  • WTC 700 + 800.
  • Tried Lake Maggiore, finished 15th.
  • Currently still racing Daily Race B.

Bought today;

  • Playmouth XNR Ghia Roadster '60
  • Ferrari F50 '95
  • Hyundai Genesis Gr.3

Back to grinding Tokyo Expressway daily. I'm at the 100 million mark, for now. Still planning on buying a lot from the Brand Central, but I'm not sure when.

More grind. Le Mans again. 4-star ticket, 10k credits. 200 cars; Sarah's impressed. Yawn.

Bit of spare cash over the 12M I'll need when the XJ13 drops in again. Considered the Mustang. Considered the Supra. Can't really be bothered with any of them any more.

The Genesis is what I won Maggiore in, good luck with it.

As a follow-up to my last post, I think I'll take a break from the WTC 800 events to get all-golds on The Human Comedy, then resume the WTC 800 races. I'll do the one hour race(s) for that event last, like the one at Spa-Francorchamps. After that, I plan to enter a Nissan GT-R Nismo in the WTC 600, on Sports Softs and minor adjustments to weight/ballast. Much like my plan for the WTC 800, I'll do the one hour race(s) last.

As for which cars I'll use for Alsace One Hour and Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, I'll try my Fords first, respectively being a Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71 and a Ford Focus ST '15. Heck, maybe I'll even try using a Ford for the WTC 600, too.

I also used the Genesis. Car is good, but it was my own mistake due to wrong strategy and tires. Going to try this again, tomorrow. With a different strategy of course.

Played the game for the first time in a few days as I was struggling to keep interested. Decided to do a couple of CEs so I golded St Croix and Willow Springs (the one with the Gr3 Vette).

St Croix was more enjoyable than I thought it would be as that Bugatti was very nice to drive. Unlike most MR cars it was very well planted. The attached was fun... for the amount of times it goes the other way, nice for a change.

Willow Springs was as dreadful as I thought it would be. God I hate that track. Literally every turn I feel like I mess up. And that last sweeping right can burn in ****! Plus, so much understeer on the Gr3 cars now it's ridiculously frustrating. They took my favorite cars in the game (the Vette being one) and just made them so they..... just..... don't.... want..... to..... turn.

Bought the F50 and took it to the WTC 700 Championship, which went pretty well. Wasn't sure how the car would do but it's pretty nice. Drives nicer than the F40 did before mods (although, I bought and drove the F40 mostly pre 1.13).

Now I am broke. Sitting at ~1mil.

I tried to tune my tuned Ford GT '06 for the WTC 600, but even when I uninstalled every part I could - and minimized the power while maximizing the ballast - I still could simply not get it below 600PP. So I think if I want to use a Ford for that event, I'd be tuning a Mustang GT '15 instead. I already used a tuned BMW M3 (E92) for the WTC 600 race at Spa-Francorchamps, too. And who knows, maybe a tuned Mustang GT '15 will end up being eligible for the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, too. Or I could just stick with the BMW, haha! I love the sound of it, it's vicious!

A personal issue that I'm running into is that I'm favoriting too many cars that would comply to hypothetical regulations that don't even appear in World Circuits events, let alone Sport Mode. These regulations aren't even options in Lobbies, so I think I'm just making a mountain over a molehill.

I mean, for the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, I'm thinking of taking a closer look at the cars I can expect to be typical opponents, then try to get (and likely tune) a car insofar that it has similar power/weight. For example, the "poster" for this event partially features an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, which has 442 HP and over 550PP, though I could see it be eligible with relatively minor changes to the power/weight settings. Meanwhile, my heavily-tuned Ford Focus ST '15 is incredibly close to 550PP, but as far as I can remember, it doesn't even have 300 HP! Even the GR Supra '19 - which has nearly 50 less HP than the 2020 model - has over 330 HP, with 536PP.

My impression is that the 550PP regulation is specifically ideal for cars that are almost at that metric as-stock, rather than requiring extensive tuning to get up there. But then again, my Focus ST '15 is also a lot lighter than the other cars I've tuned to similar PP, and the Kyoto Driving Park does seem awfully curvy. So I suppose my curiosity is really eating at me. I wanna see if I can really get P1 in the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour in that 2015 Ford Focus.

If I can't do it, then my next plan is to attempt using a Ferrari 458 that's had some minor changes to power/weight, but is otherwise entirely stock. Despite coming in at 614 PP as stock, I think a lot of its PP is due to the tires it comes on. Either way, when I equip the hardest compounds that this endurance permits - and if I play with the power and ballast a bit - then I'm really able to get under 550 PP. Besides, I plan to minimize pitting for this endurance, at any rate.

Say, I just had another idea. What if I could use the Ferrari 308 GTB for both endurances - or perhaps my Mustang Mach 1 '71? I think I'm going to tinker with the tuning for both cars, and see what happens.

EDIT: So I tried using my tuned Ford Focus ST '15 for the WTC 600 round at the Nurburgring GP, and then I tried using my tuned BMW M3 (E92). (Note: the Focus ST '15 can indeed reach 600PP!) Both times, I came in third, and was under ten seconds behind the leader, haha! So I'm thinking it's more that this is simply a tough event, rather than my car being inadequate. What's also interesting, is that I played around with my Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71, and it turns out it can get near 450, 550, and 600 PP, respectively making it a potential candidate for the Alsace One Hour, the Kyoto Driving Park One Hour, and even the WTC 600! Definitely gonna try using this Mustang at the Nurburgring GP, next, to see if it can win it.

I might try using the Focus ST '15 again, too, if only because I really do like the way it drives. Perhaps I'll consider adding some more weight, so that I can also add more power. Actually, I don't even know if that'll change much, and I do like being able to accelerate/brake a bit faster. As it stands, I think it's got 293 HP, and it's on Sports Softs, so I think I'll experiment a bit by putting on Sports Hards, and seeing how much I can raise the power.

Today - today?! - I tried the RE Amemiya RX-7 but it just wasn't working for me this time, so I Tomahawk Chopped Blofeld for a few hours, making around 5 million. Then did supper, and I'm tuckered so I think I'll visit alien worlds, virtually.

Got two 5 star tickets in a row for 2 days. 100,000 and High Lift Cam S for Civic Type R FK2. Kinda underwhelming but whatever.

Also, anyone have a tune for the widebodied 1965 Shelby GT350? The wheels kept scraping the body even after I increased the height lol

Tried to get my new stream hardware to work with PS5 & GT7, but no luck.
I can get 4k video but no game sound and raw mic audio but not the processed version.
More fiddling needed, I'm running Ubuntu not windows on the stream PC.....

Tried Sport mode and went online for the first time ever.

I won Daily Race C in the Dallara SF-19 at Autopolis!

Got pole for Daily Race A in the Silvia Spec-R Aero at Maggiore but got a stupid penalty (wasn't even my fault!) and ended up forfeiting 1st place owing to the 2 second penalty

The last two days I haven't had much time to play so I have done Tokyo sprint with Tomahawk. I have been trying to cut down on the penalties I think I just had 3 the last race. I have doing fuel map 6 until change the tires around lap 7 but I have ben changing to fuel map 4 and it seems like to me I burn through tires quicker on that map because by the last lap my rear tires are gone. This is on IM tires. Yesterday I did but the 92 NSX and I tried to paint it to look the GT1 version but I couldn't quite find the right paint and my children were watching me and giving suggestions so I just picked a black shade and went about my business. I have to try to find the the shade I am looking for when I don't have 2 people telling oh that looks nice in green why don't you choose that or the blue looks nice :D

What's your total race time?

Today, went to Used cars and bought the Mitsubishi gto 88, a Lambo Countach 25th anniversary and a Lambo Murcielago. From Hagerty's we got the Mazda Rx500. And just for the workout, took the Beetle gt3 to LeMans. Bit of a handful exiting corners I thought, but turning the FM down to 6 seemed to tame it & kept TC at 0. Got a 1 star ticket yielding 2000 credits, same old, same old. In other news, the Logitech G29 wheel & peddles arrived from the company with the smiley arrow. Not been able to set up or try out due to not having the time as I'm working nights.
Was umming and ahhing about buying one. Hopefully, it'll take my game to the next level.

Celebrated taking my Sport Mode virginity by buying the Dallara SF-19.

Rented it a couple of times to complete the races but learnt that this event would run for the week so decided I wanted to do it in my own car.

Found a livery that I liked and hit the track!

Made a Gr.4 Mustang GT, using the stock Gr.4 one as a template, 2PP, 99 pounds and 9HP of difference between them, and then I did my first attempt at recreating a livery from a racer from home who was running at the IMSA GS class. And I love the way it runs and looks!!

Real GT4 car and my attempt at a recreation/inspiration:

Cars bought today;

  • Volkswagen Beetle Gr.3
  • Honda Civic Type R (FK2) '15
  • Renault Megane R.S. Trophy '11
  • Renault Megane R.S. Trophy Safety Car
  • Mazda RX-8 Spirit R '12
  • McLaren 650 S '14

Events raced today;

  • Daily Race A 4 times.
  • Tokyo Expressway 3 times.

  • Checked my garage and i saw i had a lots of tuning parts ready to install on some cars, so i did. The reason why i bought some random cars mentioned above, just to get the parts installed so i don't buy them by accident later on and save some credits.

My engines, for now.

Blew nearly all of my credits on the Mk.IV Race Car because I heard someone say there's a trophy related to it.
Yep, that car, the Ferrari 330 P4 and the Jag XJ 13.

The Jag is the last car I need and I get the platinum.

Started with daily race B, needed 3 more Sport races for the trophy. Won't be bothering anymore till they change again, absolute mess! Followed that up with my usual 1hr Spa. Then did a few more 800PP races that I haven't done for a while, forgot how fun some of them are.

Was going to change cars around between races, then I found my GTR I nearly forgot I had and did them all in that. Then I was determined to capture the blue flame from the exhaust on downshifts....

Forgot how dreamy this car was to drive!

Oh, 2 million+ credits on the Mazda at the LCD and the cars I didn't have from the UCD. 199 unique cars now. Think I'm gonna save my 200th for the Jag XJ13.

I tried to make a retro/rare livery in GT Auto tonight, but I lost it thanks to yet another bug - I'm absolutely fuming. :mad:

Is there any part of this damn game that isn't broken??

How can you trust the game when it keeps crashing/freezing/stop working in the middle of something you have decided to commit a good amount of your free time to?? I give up.

Another day, another borefest just like any Monaco Grand Prix…

Got a Nissan GT-R Nismo for multipurpose use. I will use it for top speed runs and circuit racing. For circuit races, it is a grip monster with the torque vectoring set to 50:50 and racing slicks slapped on, plus a little tweaking to the suspension. But I got bored of it after using it for the Le Mans WTC700 and GT-R Cup races.

I was about to set a qualifying time for Daily Race C with the Super Formula Toyota, but I then said, “screw it, I’m done with this stupid game for now until the next update.”

I will still do the daily mileage ****, but I won’t do much else for now. I hate sport mode anyway and really only plan to use it for the 50-race trophy.
