I should note this tune was before update 1.13 (Or 1.14, whichever one made the cars handle better lol). It handles way better after that update.

On the GTP account, I decided to try a Gr.4 at Sarthe. The Supra is just too slow, as is the Mustang, really. I ran into an edge weather case that let me laugh my way to a win in almost exactly 30 minutes in the Mustang though (rain came heavy at the end of lap 2, and I pitted for heavy wets, while some of the field didn't even take intermediates on their stop). I pitted again for RH tires at the end of lap 5, and took fuel in case I screwed up. I only had to slow just a bit at the end of lap 6 to time it almost perfectly, and won by a minute. I took the usual low-cash (though not the lowest-possible) 10,000 Cr./3-star insult.

On the Plus account I did the dry Tokyo WTC 600 with the R32 and got worse than insulted by the 2-star marathon roulette - a 5,000-Cr. High Lift Cam Shaft for the 2015 Civic.

I was doing a livery when the power went out. The bad thing is I hadn't saved any progress up to that point. 🤬

Thankfully, I wasn't too far into it so I didn't lose too much time or effort. When the power came back on, I went back, restarted it, then saved it after I got the paint scheme done.

Power was out for 3 hours and lost my opportunity in the morning to play at all. when I finally got back to it late this afternoon the first race I entered the opening screen locked up and I had to close GT7 after staring at screen for 5 minutes hoping. Then next race loaded fine and I lost all force feedback on wheel at start and for entire race. After race rebooting PS4 and unplugging wheel corrected things... not sure if any of it was related to PS4 and wheel being on when power cut, but rough start today. It's been smoother since all that though.

Created a GT4 inspired livery for my Camaro ZL-1 and made a duplicate of it in different colors (have three ZL-1s). I’m racing them all since the real GT4 car is being phased out in favor of the C8 Vette, which I really, really hope makes its way to the game sooner than later.

When it came back on, here (about a minute later), my PS5 came back on by itself (as it always has after a power loss). However, I have to go into the game, let it give me an error message, quit the game, then go back in, again, and it'll work properly. I don't know why, it's just how it is. Not a big issue, though, just annoying.
 
Woke up early, kids aren't home today, house chores done; so grabbed my controller, fire up GT7, picked my GT4 Camaro and went to a custom Nurburgring 24hr layout for 4 laps set in the afternoon, custom weather, time progression at 7, with a Gr.4 field at Professional setting. No race dispay at all, no braking markers, nothing at all. Didn't care for my times, sector times, what position I'm at, and if rain would come or not. And it was just so liberating racing this way, just looking how the afternoon turned into a starry night, no music, just listening to my car's engine, tire noise, suspension bumps, and pure, unaltered driving. Ended in second place with only a 3 second difference.

For over 35 minutes, it was pure bliss and joy...

Woke up early, took the Subaru GT300 to Race B, did a proper Q lap and was placed 14th in the field.. i guess not that proper afterall. Proceeded to have one of those races you post about on gtplanet, it was such a joy. The first laps i was defending against LOLO that turned out to be one of those fast and clean racers that makes it worth playing this game in Sports mode. I would buy this french guy a beer or 5, if i ever met him. When i finally made a slight mistake i had to let him go.. sad pikachu..

The rest of the race wasn't as exciting, i murdered someone in the chicane when he de-ghosted right in front of me, lucky me it can't be seen in the replay so there is that. Got a 3 second penalty for crossing the lines on the Pit-Entry, learned a lesson.

Made up 7 places, because people are quitting races in GT7 like never seen in GT-Sport, but so much fun, what could possibly go wrong now and with a 3 star ticket!!!



Recorded replays and closed the game, maybe tomorrow PDs game won't be trolling me like a kid with no life.

For the first time since I first picked up GT7 from my PO Box, I did not log on today. I let my brother have all the time on the PlayStation today.

I bought the Suzuki VGT for the first time yesterday. Fun to drive and makes great noise. One VGT I actually like a lot. It would be so cool if it actually went into production.
 
Today in GT7 world was an utter waste of time. Spa saw the Porsche 962C win in a rather moist race. Started dry as usual, rained from lap 6 to lap 11. Stopped raining for 2 laps, so pitted again for RH. 1 lap later the heavens opened again, this time until the finish. Still, a wins a win.
Ticket of despondency didn't disappoint with 5,000 credits.
Spent a few hours in an email conversation with Logitech support as to why my G29 wheel won't register on ACC. Then remembered I'd previously downloaded Assetto Corsa Ultimate edition, but hardly did anything with it. Re-downloaded it & plugged in the wheel. Hey Preston, wheel works. This additional information passed to Logitech support. Spent the next 3 hours on the career mode in AC. Quite enjoyable, I thought. The FFB is so much different than GT7. Takes some getting used to.

It took 5 attempts but I finally beat the WTC 700 race at Dragon Trail Gardens Reverse on hard difficulty with the default Gr4 Supra.

I wasn’t familar with the reverse layout, so in the first 4 races I was just trying different tire strategies in dry races. On the 5th attempt it rained heavily so I went to wets on lap 4 and had an easy win.

On the Plus account, I put the R32 to work on the Tokyo wet grindstone, and it's just about the same as the R33 I use on the GTP account. The R33 is a tick faster in the straights, and the R32 a bit faster in the technical portion as the downforce is different. The all-cash 1-star workout gave the low-cash (but not lowest-possible) 10,000 Cr.

On the GTP account, the usual Tokyo grind with the R33 got me a 3-star workout ticket, which got me a(nother) KTM X-BOW R.
 
Dipped my toes into the manufactures races for the first time. Signed with Jaguar. Got down to a 58.5 in free practice. Couldn't quite recreate that in qauli in either race though as I only managed 59.2 in both but that was good enough to start 8th in the first race and 5th in the 2nd.

Finished 7th in Race 1 and 6th in Race 2. Not great finishes but this was by far the best online racing I've experienced in GT7. Will definitely be doing more.
 
Well let's see.. not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon, whipped around in my German autos peeling off time trials & custom races, and then low & behold the roulette throws me a bone..

i tried to win menu 42 - Suzuka gr1 but it did not go so well as the AI cars drove into me all the time so I spun off the track and then I discovered that some of the AI never went into the pit. So the result was a 9th place ... 😟

I simply lost the urge to continue playing after that for the day at least.

I bought the McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail which is my most expensive purchase to date. What a glorious machine it is and the sound of that V12 is fantastic and addictive. I took it to Sardegna for the WTC800 race and thoroughly enjoyed it. It will be driven a lot more today.

I will be saving up again now as new cars are likely due in 10 days or so, and there could be an expensive one.

UPDATE The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak will likely be Cr2m+.

On the Plus account, I took the LM55 VGT (Gr.1) to the VGT menu book and started destroying the competition after finding out my tunes hadn't been saved. At Interlagos, I won by 17 seconds in a time of 10:10, while lapping the Suzuki on lap 6. At Deep Forest, it was a 12-second win in 9:37, again lapping the Suzuki on Lap 6. At Kyoto, I won by 28 seconds in a time of 10:07, while lapping the Suzuki, the Infiniti, and non-racing Mercedes (the latter 2 weren't in the previous races) on lap 6.

The 3-star marathon roulette was an insulting Height-Adjustable Sports Suspension for the BMW M4 Safety Car, while the 6-star was the Alpine Alpine VGT Race. It was a good thing I didn't buy it, especially since the only tuning parts available are tires (but not dirt), ballast, a power restrictor and a hydraulic handbrake.

On the GTP account, I took a stock BRZ GT300 to Sardegna and did a 1-stop race (FM5 for the first 7 laps, FM3 the rest of the race, pit lap 8) to near-perfection, taking a 9-second win in 26:59 while lapping the 2 back-markers. I don't know if an alien can do it on hard, but that was on normal difficulty (as usual).

Or at least that was before the freeze at the end-of-race summary. After a game restart, I don't know if I got the money as I don't keep very close tabs of the money on that account, but I did get the 4-star marathon roulette, and the mileage accumulated on the BRZ. Of course, it was the low-cash/lowest-possible 10,000 Cr.
 
Decided to switch to roof cam today for my AI races, have been chase cam for years. Can see how it would be faster, much easier to spot the apex but I’m finding it really hard to judge where the other cars are, even with the radar. Looking like a really dirty driver on the replay. Don’t think this would be a good idea to try in Sport yet.

Also, some of the lower PP VGTs are great fun, having a great time for the Subaru and Mitsubishi.
 
Did the WTC 800 races at Dragon Trail Reverse and Fuji, along with the WTC 700 race at La Sarthe. Figuring out the best strategy with default car settings makes these races somewhat enjoyable. I’ll probably tick off a few more of them after the Canadian gp.

Today, we purchased the Lexus SC430 Gt500 on the recommendation of Naffantait (YouTube). What a motor!.
Not that expensive either. Detuned it for Le Mans, walked it. Brought back to (almost) spec for Spa, again, finished almost 2 minutes ahead of 2nd.
Went to Sardegna, lapped everyone & only pitted for fuel.
A 2 star ticket of despondency brought 30,000 credits.... Yep, a shock to me too.
Then a couple of hours on Assetto Corsa, for the career mode. Still can't figure out why my G29 wheel works on normal Assetto but not competizione? Strange.
