Anyone who agrees with ME 100% is certainly entitled to his nice fat paragraph of pure obliteratory teardown

I am saddened by this gross lack of enthusiasm, I was really looking forward to it. After all we've been through togother, don't let me down now.

While we sit here and bull**** guys like this are killing and being killed..maybe this little excerpt will help put things in perspective..
c The Associated Press

The last letter written by Army Pfc. Diego Fernando Rincon, 19, of Conyers, Ga., to his mother. It is dated Feb. 22 and received March 22. Rincon was killed in Iraq in a suicide bombing attack Saturday:

Hola Mother,

How are you doing? Good I hope. I'm doing OK I guess. I won't be able to write anymore starting the 28th of this month. We are moving out. We are already packed and ready to move to a tactical Alpha-Alpha (in Iraq). Once that happens, there will not be any mail sent out. We will only receive mail that is less than 12 ounces. At least that's what they said. I'm not sure where exactly we're going be at yet, but it is said to be a 20-hour drive in the Bradleys.

So I guess the time has finally come for us to see what we are made of, who will crack when the stress level rises and who will be calm all the way through it. Only time will tell. We are at the peak of our training and it's time to put it to the test.

I just want to tell everybody how much you all mean to me and how much I love you all. Mother, I love you so much! I'm not going to give up! I'm living my life one day at a time, sitting here picturing home with a small tear in my eyes, spending time with my brothers who will hold my life in their hands.

I try not to think of what may happen in the future, but I can't stand seeing it in my eyes. There's going to be murders, funerals and tears rolling down everybody's eyes. But the only thing I can say is, keep my head up and try to keep the faith and pray for better days. All this will pass. I believe God has a path for me. Whether I make it or not, it's all part of the plan. It can't be changed, only completed.

Mother will be the last word I'll say. Your face will be the last picture that goes through my eyes. I'm not trying to scare you, but it's reality. The time is here to see the plan laid out. And hopefully, I'll be at home in it. I don't know what I'm talking about or why I'm writing it down. Maybe I just want someone to know what goes through my head. It's probably good not keeping it all inside.

I just hope that you're proud of what I'm doing and have faith in my decisions. I will try hard and not give up. I just want to say sorry for anything I have ever done wrong. And I'm doing it all for you mom. I love you.

P.S. Very Important Document.

Your son,

Diego Rincon

Dude you'll figure out rather quick that barely anyone here can handle sarcasm,.. reguardless of smilies.

where are you from?

Originally, a small island in the south pacific where America's day begins.

Why do you care to know what I drive?
Because I have a theory that people of a certain religious or political viewpoint have certain cars - actually, you fit the mold for your group perfectly.

Well, when there's seven smilies, it's regarded as stupid rather than sarcastic. Or, if it has an ellipsis of more than three periods. Or, if it contains the acronym, "ROFLMAO."

very interesting, perhaps you would care to enlighten us with this groundbreaking theroy of yours?

how can you deturmine which of the three very different cars of mine is the one that reflects my political views?

if I drove... say a lincoln, whould that be an indication that I am a different person?
interesting ideas- It is said that you cannot judge a book by it's cover, but thanks to the efforts of m5p, we will soon be able to judge a driver by his car.

I've enlightened so many in the past... ;)

Excepting Jeep and a few other specific cars (Chevrolet Suburban, Hummer H2, GMC Yukon) Republicans or Christians/Catholics tend to drive American cars and various Toyotas/Toyota products. Democrats, Jews, immigrants (excluding Mexican immigrants) and atheists tend to drive imports, excluding Korean imports. Strangely, it's often proven correct.

There went that theory,.... Agnostic = Ford Ranger 4x4

But I bet choosing the Ford Ranger as the best vehicle for you was a hard decision. But lets face, I doubt you would just walk around your whole life, so you had to pick something.

What was it about the Ford Ranger that helped you in deciding to get it? Did you buy it? Was it given to you? Was it the best bang for the buck?

I had been looking at vehicles for approx 2 weeks,... knowing only that I wanted 4x4 due to the Michigan winters.

I couldnt get approved for a full size, and it was the nicest vehicle I could get without using a co-signer. I bought it new in '99. It was an easy decision,... I just wanted the nicest thing I could afford that met my needs. The fact it was a ford or that it was domestic had nothing to do with my decision.

i can see some truth to this. have you ever considered why this might be so?

american and entry level "conservative" toyotas
- not generally considered on the cutting edge of style
-(with the exception of the toyotas) not considered very reliable when compared to most imports
-casts the illusion that it (american car) was actually made in america with american parts.
-are generally the types of vehicles older people relate to (seeing how the import market is relatively new)

Criristian conservitives are generally older, less ostentatious, and more morality and family based. They are also more patriotic as a whole. they are also , due to the age group, often less knolegable when it comes to cars.

however, demacrats and immagrants are generally more cutting edge, aware of the changing world around them, and open to new ways of thought and style. they are for the most part younger, thus more concerned with style. and are city based (cities being more liberal the rural ereas).
perhaps, although many jews are very conservative, are still in touch enough to understand that just because the lincoln and cadalac (check my spelling) were the best cars in the world during the their youth, doesnt mean that BMW and Benz are not a whole lot better now.

In short, i think the phenomonon exsists due to the cultural and socoieconomic differences between the two major tendecies in this country.

American is old, conservative, unwavering, afraid of change

import is new, cutting edge, and open to change.

letme know what you think everyone.

please excuse any typos in this- im in kind of a hurry

A gross generalization. It depends where you live and who you are and what you drive.

The grass is always greener, as they say. But there's no sense in letting that get to the point where you can't appreciate what you own country has to offer.

Why in the world would anyone even wan't to come up with such generalisations ? Do you not aggree that it is wrong to lump one whole catagory of people into your perceived and limited stereotype ? I drive a Ford Taurus and a Chevy van what slot does that put me in ? In my life I have also owned many Imports does that make me confused or just a Christian agnostic muslim foreign Jew immagrant ?

I know what you mean. I can't decide if I should restore a Challenger, Mustang, Karmann Ghia, or old Volvo. I must be so confused. Some kinda mongrel, as David Duke would say.

Honestly, I pretty much agree with Artifice. His points are valid, though maybe too generalized. We should'nt judge one by his car though, even if the larger percentage of the time those judgments are correct. I'm not saying that M5Powers and Artifices "theories" are always right, but one must admit that in most cases their theory is substantial.

I don't drive a Ford because I want to, but because that is all I can afford at this given time (and seeing how I didnt pay for it, I'm not complaining, but anyways...). So, in these cases, those theories wouldn't work, but more often than not I tend to believe that "judging" one by his car is a quick way to see what type of person you are....

:O

I think there were more typos in your writing, than there was correct spelling.

You have conservative viewpoints. It's not an 'and,' it's an 'or,' and I didn't say it was all-inclusive.

that's true- it is very general, and dependent on where you are, I meant it more as a follow-up to m5's theory. I dont believe that american cars are all bad any more than i believe all farmers drive pick- up trucks. nor do i believe that all jews can afford Mercedes, but nobody got on me for that one.
