What do you mean by "drift"

as for how to, there are countless threads on precisely calculated drifting techniques, due to a sudden outbreak of drift interest a while ago.

this is the quick and dirty way i do it.

- buy the full suspension.
- make it nice and soggy, more so in the front than the back.
- set the downforce in the back lower than in the front, but set them both relatively low.
- buy sports tires.
- buy full LSD, and tune the torque 4-7lbs more than default.

damn you people who play GT3 and talk big but actually know nothing about cars or driving techniques

there are alot of different types of drifting.

the most common is known as "exhibition" drifting, in which the car is REALLY sideways and the front tires guide the rear end through a turn.

the most effective drift is a high speed drift or the "racing drift" also known somewhat as a "faint" drift.

the quickest drift was started by Formula One drivers way back when. its called the "all wheel" drift. in which all 4 wheels lose traction but the car still retains enough momentum to carry it through the turn quickly and effectively.

if there are any more questions concerning drifting, there are about....ohhh.....1000 threads that give DETAILED descriptions of car set ups and techniques.

Mobil1, do as I do - just ignore all threads that have the word drift in the topic. You'll never get them to understand, now that Super Street and Sport Compact Crap have gotten ahold of the term.

I only came in here because I saw your name as the last poster, and I figured you'd be blowing a gasket trying to explain the truth. Just let it go, man...
:smilewink
PS to Sparxxx - you can't avoid drifting the Altezza. All you have to do is drive it. Don't spend any money on it; it oversteers like crazy in stock form.

Hey, Alexy, how come you never post in the Automotive Forum any more?
:smilewink

yeah, driftin is just for fun really, or as toleman put it, just for fun

but it does have some performance applications.

such as, if you can drift well, when youre racing and the car suddenly comes around or steps out mid turn it is easier to control and regain traction because it becomes second nature.

Like you said earlier why do you even bother, look everyone here thinks they are real race car drivers, I dont know if youve ever raced a real car but is sound like you do, so lets let these kids think what they want.

yeah toleman, ive done my share of real racing

so yeah, i understand the mechanics and physics of driving and driving hard than the 13 year olds here that havnt hit puberty

anyhoo

driving in real life is ALOT more fun and exhilerating then any game

im gonna start auto crossing soon 😈 , yeah....autoX ownz

Autocross is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. I bought my second Neon after one run around the cones in one of the yellow-and-black Neon Challenge ACRs.

I've been collecting the stuff to really do it on a regular basis, but one of the things I don'e seem to be able to save up is free time...
