@liv4hardstyle, most of the complaints about "missing" features are related to features which are on the "future" list for GT6.

Those who think that GT6 has a very short life are disappointed.

Yup well aware of that. I was saying that those future features do not have any effect of my experience of the game. I love driving. Period. They have nailed that aspect. The life of the game depends on what you want out of it IMO.

I voted 6-7, just for the improved physics, added cars and tracks. The rest of the game should get a 3-4.

In its current state, a measly 5, or 6.

It's an average game at best. I'm not holding my breath for the ''coming'' updates to change that.

2-3/10 - I haven't been able to play the game more than 1/2 hour at a time because of the terrible framedrop and jitter.
The last month I haven't really touched it at all.
FUBAR.

6-7: It's an okay game on the cars/physics/graphics/track front, but other than that, there's just a severe lack of other content that's said to be coming in the future and online just descended into what it was in GT5.

As it is (v1.05) our of 10 for each category (I've added my score for GT5 in brackets

Driving Physics 9 (7)
Menus/game mechanics 9 (3)
Gameplay 5 (6)
Offline racing content 3 (6)
Online racing 5 (5)
Sounds 3 (2) potentially big improvements (see red bulls)
Graphics 9 (8)

So that's overall I'd say 5-6 for me (maybe one up).

It has potential for much, much better.

I would consider giving a higher score than a 6, but the game isn't finished and we haven't received hardly any promised DLC. To me, it's basically rebadged GT5 disc. There's still standard cars...

Kaz promised monthly DLC all the way back in GT5, and we didn't even get any for GT5, let alone GT6. I think PD needs a wake up call, maybe some competition. I think they're getting lazy because they've realized they're the only racing simulator game for PS3. I love the GT series, but PD is getting lazy.

4.5

Everyone called the "GT5.5" idea a load of BS, but turns out that's just what we got.

Improved physics and star-porn don't make up for GT4 carry-over assets (standards), removed features (do I need to list them all?), and unfulfilled promises.

Even the new U.I. isn't that much faster, if anything it's slower. It takes longer to switch vehicles because you still need to go through various menus, and in GT5 at least you could look-at and gaze upon the cars you were looking at as the rotated around, in GT6 all you get is a shrunk-down static image that doesn't even make the cars look good.

It's a very big disappointment in the GT series for me, and what it'd take to change that, PD has proven themselves incapable of doing.

10/10. 🤬 it. People who rate it a 5 should never be reviewers as they're seeing it wrong. When grading a game...never....NEVER compare it to other games in the series and then subtract points for removed/planned features but not add points for added features. Look at GT6 on it's own and it's one of a kind. Absolutely phenomenal.

Still a 5-6, regardless comparison with previous titles. It sure is one of a kind; an absolutely phenomenal average game. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Great carlist, great tracklist, great physics, good wheel support, active support from devs....a 5? Sure, keep on living in your hatebubble while i'm having fun with this amazing game.

What? I'm not allowed to rate this game a 10/10? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone else is not allowed to love it.
NO... What do you think this is, a democracy?

Great carlist,
The car list might me huge, but frankly, it's not exactly interesting, intriguing or all that great for that matter. I've played and seen games with significantly less car count, but with a far better car line-up overall. But that's just my personal opinion and not to be taken as a fact.
great tracklist
The tracklist is however something I can agree with, with many much welcomed additions to the series.
great physics
Great for a console racer, yes.
good wheel support
Sure.
active support from devs
It's always desirable having developers actively supporting their games long after post-release from a gamer's/fan's point of view, no question about it. But when that support is (for the second time in a row) based around fixing poor design decisions and presumably time mismanagment, I can't help but to question its genuineness (for a lack of a better word). I mean, at this point, the ''active'' support is self-imposed. They're not doing it beacuse they want to, but rather because they have to - in order to deliver on marketed features and to not piss a lot of people off.

Have fun!

A 10 would mean a perfect game, which GT6 is no where even close to being. Fan boys need to take the blinders off.

Except to me, GT6 is already perfect. Do I care about sounds, standard cars, lack of 'content', etc? Nope. When the game was released, I really loved the game, but it had one big drawback: Karts couldn't drive on tracks with weather change, which we could do in GT5. With the new update, PD has brought that back along with brake balance adjustments. Thus, my rating of 10/10

If you rate GT6 10/10 on 8 years old PS3 then how you will rate GT7 on PS4?

It depends if I like it or not. :) I couldn't give a damn what system it's on.

GT6 would probably get slightly better scores if it was Random Driving Game 1, but not by much. It has a great car list, a great track list, and decent physics for a console.

It also has massive inconsistency in assets detail, inconsistent frame rates, bare bones online, and no real distinguishing features over any other racing game apart from the aforementioned massive car and track lists. The career is straight out of Game Design 101, the menus are still designed to show off instead of be functional (3 pages of Miatas...), and basic features like AI and sound would be panned in any racing game in 2014.

It's a basic racing game at it's most basic. It has a couple of things that it does well, which is why I can understand why some people are up in the 9s and 10s. They get into those parts that GT6 does really well, so they love it. But as an overall game, it's pretty rudimentary.

Honestly, I think Gran Turismo gains as many points in reviews simply on the strength of it's name as it loses for comparison to past titles. And really, being compared to your past titles should never be a bad thing. If you're not making the new release better than the old release, why bother even making it?

(The obvious answer being "for the monies", but that's too cynical even for me. I can't believe anyone would intentionally push out a game that's a step back from the previous version JUST for the revenue boost.)

I give a 1-2 because there is no real challenge to the whole game its basic beginners stuff + a host of other major problems

I will be interested to see how you rate GT6 once it's gets the Course Maker, new tracks, VGT's, Community features etc.? Presumably those additions would improve the game. How would improve your rating? Not much wiggle room between 10 and 10......

A game doesn't have to have all possible features ever to qualify for a ten out of ten. The Last of Us got tens from a lot of places. That doesn't mean that there isn't stuff that could be added that would make it even better, it just means that it's such a high quality experience already that it would simply be adding more goodness to goodness.

A game can never be perfect, and that's not what a ten signifies. I think of a ten as a game that pretty much every gamer should play, regardless of whether they like that genre or not. Most game reviewers class it as something similar. They do not class 10/10 as a perfect game.

If you think of it as a ten being "must play" and a 1 being "do not play ever", then it makes total sense to have features added to an already 10 of 10 game. It also makes sense how people could consider GT6 a 10/10 already, the features that are available now are enough for them to consider it a must play.
