What do you think of gt4's physics

IMHO, they are perfect. Cars drive like the real thing in gt4p and I would swear I was driving the real thing(car) and I was like  with the new wheel. What do you all think?

Nothing is perfect. GTp is not like driving a real car, but it's pretty good for a game. I think your kinda over exadurating GTps realism abit there dude. TBH it felt just like GTC, but less easy to spin.

btw isn't there allready a physics post???

Yep, this has been covered elsewhere, and yes GT4P is better than all previouse GT's physics wise, and this really should be in GT4P section. As for it being like driving a real car, it isn't, you get very little feedback compared to driving a real car and you feel absolutely no G-force. No PS2 game ever could fully simulate driving a real car, they can get the pysics close, even perfect but in a game it's still nothing like driving a real car.

Agreed. The physics are a good step up from GT3 (which were really good compared to any other game), but obviously is a long way off real driving!

Wel maybe put GT4P physics because even though they say its the same they could always tweek it a bit, but noone still has GT4 so hmm dunno how we all of a sudden know how the Final game will be...

GT4p, final physics
Stop assuming things until they are final, and when you actually have the game in your hands and GT4, not GT4p, is on your tv screen. I don't think anything is final until the final product is on the market.

I have to agree with cobra here in some ways. The physics you see are probs the final ones, but some tweaking could, and will probs be made.

Oh im not saying he's wrong.. They did say GT4P supposedly has the final physics, but then again they could always change, but since GT4 isnt out yet, noone knows how the Final build wil be like until the the game is releast..

what a conclusion.
as if you have alrady played GT 4.
and even if the physics won´t change untill the release of the real game i´m not sure about how the physic will be in sim mode.
remember, GT 4 P is arcade only.

The physics are the same in Arcade and Sim modes, the cars settings are the only difference.

dream on.
i guess they will be the same as in GT, GT 2 and GT 3.
but there´s always someone who won´t notice slight differences,
aside from car settings that is.;):P

There is only one physics engine in use in each GT game, the Arcade mode doesn't use a different set of variables to the Sim modes, if you find the right settings for your sim mode car you will get it spot on to the equivelent in the Arcade mode. One reason you may think they are differnet is that the production cars generally don't have adjustable parts, the standard setting for an R34 GT-R in Arcade mode is different to the standard setting for the car in Sim mode but the physics engine is the same.

I think you don't have your driving license yet

or that you're so young that you never had the chance to drive a car without ABS:odd:

Have you ever raced on a circuit then... :odd:

I have, and GT4P is nothing like real life, as I said, the physics in GT4 could be perfect, but it still wouldn't be close to being real, you get no true feedback from a game, in a real car you get all the g-forces, you get 100% accurate feedback from the wheel and you get a proper field of vision, so you can see everything not just whats stright infront and whats in your mirror.

Yes I have, although it's some time ago.

In the late 80's I raced endurance races with a Mini 1275GT, and once with a Nissan 240RS ex-rally car.
But I stopped because it costed too much money. Later I did 2 more races with my every day cars, in that times a Porsche 914 and a Matra Murena.

Doesn't mean I can't enjoy GT, I specially like the replays, because they come close to reality :) but the physics need a lot more attention.

A sure thing is that GT4P is a lot better than GT3, physics wise. But Arcade vs Sim does make a difference, in so far as GT4's final version is likely to have both tire-wear and fuel consumption, and with a bit of luck also simulation mode steering assist. A lot will depend how realistically that is implemented, as well as how the car responds to your custom settings. We can only wait and see ...
