I don't think we know everything about GT5 yet.

The big surprises so far were 16 cars and an incar view.

So I'm putting a poll up to see who can guess what will be the next big surprise.

You will be able to view who voted for what so you can who guessed right.

I vote for working reverse lights, it's the single most important thing ever in GT series.

I'd vote for full 3D spectators on all tracks, and skid-marks, but unfortunately they're not on the list. And those two are also the most important ever.

Now seriously - I'd vote for something, but I guess mods will just redirect this thread to other similar threads - but my vote goes to advanced surface mapping of the track, which is not on the list.

i guess it depends on the definition of "surprise." we already kinda know that damage is coming, so i dunno how surprised we'd be when it finally comes. i think nurbugring was confirmed already as well, though not with the GP. i dont think point to point races, a crew chief, or NASCAR is coming period. so if they in fact did show up, i would be very "surprised." as far as the most important aspect that i actually think will show up that has not been announced, i would say its between Porsche, time of day, and weather.

+1

I'm sort of expecting some new tracks which are F1 tracks and haven't been in any GT's yet. Stuff like Silverstone, Spa-Francochamps, Monza, Brands Hatch, etc. It would be a nice surprise to get more real life circuits, especially from Europe and the Americas.....or anywhere except Japan, lol.

NASCAR is a bit iffy, I doubt it. Reverse lights will never see the light of day, lol.
Race car mods are likely, what with all these "concept by gran turismo" tuned cars, I reckon we will see a return of the spoiler add-ons from GT4 and maybe more.
Everything else is about 50/50 chance of getting in the game, even the Peugeot, lol, I reckon they'll just get rid of those bits of sponsorship, just like they did with GT4 and the cars which had tobacco advertisements.

To me, a surprise is something I'm really not expecting to happen.

So, and about endurance races, I won't be surprised if GT5 will feature (again) the two 24 hour races already present in GT4.

It won't also surprise me if they come with a day/night cycle (even GRID has that feature).

It won't even be a surprise if it comes with random weather (the old "Le Mans" game (PS2) had it back in 2001)

So, definitely, I will be surprised - because I'm not expecting it to happen - if GT5 allows us to save during the races (in the pits, like the old LM game? )

I'm not expecting this to happen because there's so many fans out there that praise B-Spec. If I were PD, I wouldn't care much about hard core players that:
a) have a life and family;
b) would like to race the full 24 h themselves, but can only do it a few stints per night.

What would really be cool is that you can choose your own driving gear, with that I mean custom painted helmets, or helmets from racing legends.....

god i hope you can fit racing style bodykits to road cars, to increase their aerodynamical property, plus you should be able to get sponsors, if you do really well theyll pay you like, and extra sum of money if you win a race, and you put their logo's on your car!

-> I would think the biggest surprise for me would be Porsche jumping in into GT. :)

-> I would really like to see HP restrictions (like in GT2) and Cr1,000 Pole Position prize (like in GT1). :indiff:

Damage was already confirmed for a fall Prologue update, and Kaz said that both Porsche and point-to-point rally stages are "probably" going to make it. But for the sake of the poll, I guess I would be most surprised if Porsche and/or Lamborghini actually appeared in the game.

I'd honestly be most surprised to see mechanical failures in the game. Damage is enough as it is, but random mechanical failures that could have nothing to do with damage would be surprising in itself.

For me the biggest surprise would that it would be released in Europe before the end of 2009

ontopic

I'd say new tracks because they revealed the London city course in Prologue and announced a Madrid one for the full GT5

It's got to be the inclusion of reverse lights. I mean, come on, we've been dying for them ever since the first game (GT3 i think) came out!!! Get your act together PD.

Most likely would probably be either damage (as it's coming) or Porsche, but I wouldn't bet against Nurburgring, weather or day/night cycles either.

The poll options aren't so much "which surprise is coming next?" as "which things in this list would you like to see?"

I'd like to see more open-wheelers and race car mods, but more likely are damage, weather, and the Nurburgring.

I'm back! (Doubt anyone noticed lol)

1st of all:
I'm gonna go with Visible damage:), always been somthing GT has been missing, GT2 Arcade doesn't count either lol, that sucked.:yuck:

They did promise...... But they have done before and GT is fine the way it is anyway.👍

2nd:
Realtime Day/Night Cycle. It would make 24hr races a challenge, and poly can show off the lighting :)

Probably won't be the next big suprise to be revealed but i expect either Spa or Bathurst to feature in GT5 for some reason, a slew of F1 tracks could be a possibility considering they've already received first party help with the london assets - they could possibly acquire data from studio liverpool

For me the big surprise is if Porsche - Lamborghini - Bugatti gets in GT5.

Another good surprise is changing weather and time of dayduring a race.

The mechanical problems and fisical damage on cars will be a nice surprise to.

For me the 'best' surprise would be if PD came out and actually started acknowledging the communities that support them and start being a little more forthcoming with details of the game's developments and features. Because without us, they don't exist. 👍

THAT would be true surprise.

An on-line drift event would be good something like Suzuka or Eiger Nordwand, no PP limit and unrestricted tyre choice.

No prize money, it just gives people that want to drift somewhere to go.

no nurbergring?

Im not buying GT5.

Seriosuly, without the ring its just GT3 with better graphics. We want the ring. And NOW!

p.s my 200th post. whop!

and Kaz said that both Porsche and point-to-point rally stages are "probably" going to make it.

I remember KY saying that rally special stages were probably going to make it (note special stage, not point to point) but I don't remember him saying Porsche was probably going to make it?

Probably won't be the next big suprise to be revealed but i expect either Spa or Bathurst to feature in GT5 for some reason

Boy I hope so, both are long due IMO.

I want reversing lights SO bad - but PD are so bloody minded that they won't put them in to spite us (possibly).

Fluke's idea of sponsors is interesting - anyone remember Sega GT? McDonald's open race...

But the most likely thing is a few more tracks.

Just wanted to give props to the following for correctly predicting NASCAR as the next big surprise to the GT franchise. Funny that NASCAR got the 2nd fewest votes, it really was a surprise.

-ultraflow-,
CAMikaze,
nissan tuner,
Ps3fanboy,
Stevisiov.,
TsukubaTrueno

These guys predicted visible damage
