In this thread I meant menu music, but it seems fine at the moment.

If only there was a nfsu3...

Drum and bass , its driving music.. why not, Fill it up with that and rock and some good techno * not the new popular crap the good stuff made just for the game*, I don't see how death metal or rap or any contemporary music really seem to fit.

Now that we have the option to choose our own music, it really doesn't matter. Me, personally, I don't race with music, but I like music in my replays.

As for the opening and ending music, I really couldn't tell. I'm sure that PD will come up with some special remix of a popular song, something related to Moon Over the Castle, or a nice inspiring piece from Daiki Kasho.

So far they've chosen their music well. Even those remixes from Weezer and My Chemical Romance were decent enough. As for race/replay music, I think the game comes up short when comparing with the first GTs. Specially GT2 and GT4.

As for the menu music, that should stay how it is. Some remixes from the old GT1 and GT2 menu music would be very welcomed for us veteran GT enthusiasts. Who remembers the old PS1 GT's menu music? So epic :)

Could not agree more.
The only thing i really think GT needs is the option to change the UCD, the Tunning shop, the Auto Shop etc, music.
Every single time i'm gonna buy a used car i have to listen to that awfully ears piercing guitar riff... that drives one to insanity at one point, i'm sure.

And if i just turn down the menu music in options, i get no music at all in any screen...

My temporary solution is to turn all music off in GT5, and listen to my musics in my PSP with headphones that do not block all the external noise, so i can hear the cars revving.

The UCD specially! I hate it also. Or when you're about to get an unknown car after an enourmous effort, the first thing you hear is that drum beat and you know is a damn Standard...

I do like the GT Auto music, though. "The Entertainer..." I can't take that tune out of my mind.

I would like to see a new version of light velocity and slipstream, plus some more gt3 and gt4 songs.

They should have moon over the castle as racing bgm.

Also I'd like them to keep some gt5 artists.

I want GT6 to send a nostalgic shiver down my spine, and be a thrilling experience like it used to be!

I totally agree that Moon Over The Castle should be a racing BGM in Gran Turismo 6.

I wonder why they scrapped all the good music... :( I will cry if gt6 doesn't have any old music

I will cry if they don't bring back any of the good soundtracks too. What ever they put in Gran Turismo 6, I don't really care, as long as they have this ONE song in the game, I'm happy:

YES.

Classical as in Mozart or classic gt?

15 days late reply...

I meant Classical music, which all the ...classics are 100% free to use due that their authors passed away centuries ago, and not music from previous GTs, which most probably PD doesn't have the rights to use those once again in a new game.

I think GT6 should also have the second one though, even if they have to pay. It'd give the sense of continuity GT5 severely lacks, which mostly happens because of not including older tracks (100+ according to one thread here, I'd say about 30), iconic events, some cars and the overall aspect and feel of the game (watch any video of GT4 and older).

I don't think classical music recordings are 100% free though. The arrangements may be public domain, but they still have to be performed and recorded, and therefore licensed by PD. Although, surely it's much cheaper than pop music. Unless you were thinking MIDI. ;)

As others have suggested, I just hope we have more customization of the various events in the game that trigger music, like the shops and car introduction. Make all of the music replaceable by our own, and I don't think anyone can object to it.

I'm not too crazy for the metal/rock choices, especially in the past. It is too...not really race friendly. It isn't the kind of music you'd want to listen to driving a Ferrari IMO. Maybe there should be more DnB, rock-alternative, race-friendly music.

I think they should get codemasters to do the music because their dirt soundtracks are awesome

DnB and alt-rock are not at all race-friendly. Metal is very race-friendly. If I'm driving a Ferrari, or any other car for that matter, fast... I'm going to listen to what works for me, and that probably means fast guitars, double bass and lots of power.

These discussions are so pointless, as there is no right music. I hope GT6 has a similar musical style as the rest of the series with some good jazz and classical tunes and maybe a few other songs I don't dislike. It stands out from the video game crowd. Gotta lose the songs that play every time you're in a particular menu however.

Not worth putting to much concern into it anyway, as I'm sure I will be far from the only person who turns it all off no matter how good it is.

I believe that they should have the option of linking your Music Unlimited account to your custom soundtrack. Or at least add some more Dance/Electronic, like Calvin Harris or Knife Party; or some classics like Queen (whatever happened to Bohemian?); or even country.

I also liked that idea of linking the release years of cars and songs. That should also happen with the country of production, like some japanese techno for the Lexus LFA, or Reggae for the VW Samba Bus.

Also, I believe that I can say that Miley Cyrus, Bieber, or those 1D jokes dont belong in the Good Driving Music collection.

For main menu I think they can Keep most of the music, for dealerships I'd like to see From the East returning. And yeah, for race music stuff like AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and some classic GT music would be perfect for me.
