What does the update 2.12 have?

I had no hybrids.

The first thing I did after the update was go to my garage and look at my favorites. All of those are either 400, 425, or 450 PP. I could swear that all of the PPs were different. I felt a sense of panic.

I clicked on one of my favorite 425pp cars, I looked at it's tuning and nothing had changed. When I exited the car, back to the garage, all of the cars were back to normal.

I could be wrong.

I have a DLP TV that really needs a new light bulb, so it is really dim. Plus I was standing in front of it high above the optimum viewing angle.

I was sitting down when I saw that everything was normal.

If you haven't updated yet, look for this.

Maybe next update will implement an official hybrid system in the game.
So they needed to cleanup saves first to get this working :)

@ZDUPH, for youtube video's only use the "video id" between the youtube brackets.

The update info is cute.

Yeah, We have another round of maintainence so anything from jack squat all the way to Spec 3 is possible. No one has been banned yet but it's still possible.

That would be interesting imagine pd giving us spec 3 to entice people staying on 2.11 to update to kill the hybrids completely.

YES!!!!! :D To be honest I was thinking the excat same thing. Just imagine? Next maintainence theres a Spec 3.00 to get people to clear up the hybrids, that'll be smart of PD! 👍

I really hope no one gets banned, PD wouldn't go that far imo.

If Spec 3.0 was absolutely flawless, then it might make me forget about all of my hours spent hybriding cool creations. Just maybe...

Spec 3.0 will have to be very special if it wants to make me forget about my hybrids. :irked:

It is absolutely true all hybrids have been reverted to standard game parameters. I saw there was an update but didn't install at first. Went to the GT5 website and there was no info so I did the install. By then it was too late. Anyone know how to uninstall the update. I've never done it before.

Fortunately I didn't loose much and I didn't get banned.

Well, IF spec 3 is in the next maintenance, it would be really cool if they had all the features that came with the hacking built into the game. Like engine swaps and stuff. That would really constitute a Spec 3 for me.

I imagine Spec 3.00 having at least more upgrades based on the hybrids, such as more Engine upgrades, even removing wings off of certain cars. That may cheer everyone up I believe. :)

Agreed with everyone here. We found your hidden stash of upgrades PD. Time to let them off of their leashes!

If there is a spec 3. This is 2.12, seems 3.0 is a long way off if it ever comes.

Well when it went from 1.xx to 2.00 it didn't go all the way to 1.99. Not sure where it stopped, but they can introduce spec 3 at any time. Update numbers have nothing to do with it.

+1 I've lurked this forum for ages, and if there's one thing that never fails, it is the speculation-brigade getting everyone's hopes up.

Still feels like we found the Christmas presents that were hidden at the bottom of PD's cupboard, or under the bed. I don't feel guilty, though.

Well, seeing as this topic has become pretty much discussion about the update and what it means for these "illicitly modified" cars, I might as well ask this here. If any hybrids were to make it into a free run room, would it be acceptable for me to report them?

Lol one comment leads to spec 3 speculation.

Plant a seed watch it grow.

Seriously though I doubt pd have anything for us its like punishing us then rewarding us. This makes no sense.

If they're not bothering you, don't spoil it.

Yeah and the thread before the maintenance had no mention of Spec 3 . . . at all.

I guess its easy to plant ideas that wasnt even my intention I just thought the idea was funny.

Well, they pretty much ARE spoiling it for me. This coming from the guy who used to have to dodge Red Bulls shooting past, and then got whacked up the butt by Schwimmwagens going three times as fast, and from the guy who has aggressively kicked hacked cars from every lobby I've hosted.

I wonder how the hybrids that slipped through the net will bother you when you race an unpaintable car in a different colour than stock?

There will be none of the overpowered cars that were around before. They're gone. All that remains is painted unpaintable cars and sticky tires, which can be detected. As for the tuning parts, they don't work on every car and like everything else in the tune shop that adds power, they also add PP, so they are detectable to the same degree as a stage 3 turbo or engine upgrade.

I don't see how you will be "affected" anymore by hybrids in your lobbies.

When I participated in lobbies with you recently, there was a good chance I was in a hybrid. Did you notice it? No, you didn't. That's an example of good hybrids. There are countless other people like this, don't let the idiocy of a few sway your opinion on something that has breathed life onto a game that has gotten stale.

Its a shame that hybrids have now been hacked. For the few people who hacked to try and iprove their time on the game and add a new layer of tuning and customisation it's an unfortunate patch. I suppose with all of the x1 chassis fiat panda's it was bound to happen though.

Haven't updated it yet. I hope the 'extra tuning' options aren't gone. I'm stocked up on stg 4 and 5 weight stages.
