I enjoyed those bonus races. Not just for the cash or the XP, but for the amount of skill needed to actually win one of them. I set my sights on the RX-7 challenge back when it was available. It took me a couple of hours and lots of tuning to finally beat that race, but it taught me a ton about tuning in this game.

I started off only being able to place last or one spot better. As I kept tuning the car between races, as well as learning the track better, I gradually started placing higher and higher until I managed to squeak by the 1st place car for the win. It was an exciting and very satisfying win for me. It also helped me to better understand how the game works and how to get the most out of a specific car. 👍

Since I started playing GT5 about 4-5 months ago I have completed all the liscense tests with silver or gold, finished all the special races except the x2020 or whatever it is, seasonal races except the ferrari challenge (not spending 10 million dollars on a car for one race besides i dont have 10 million) and have finished all the levels with gold up to the endurance races after level 31 as I have just hit level 32. Im not much for grinding levels or money in console games and I think its rediculous that they expect someone to sit in front of a tv for 9 hours playing a video game, maybe I could have done that when I was 12 but not at 40. They need to bring back the bonus races if for nothing else but an occasional chunk of nice xp. Ive got so bored with the game now because I really have nothing more to do but the seasonal events.
Also, I wouldnt have minded a little grinding on the nascar races but the nascar part of GT5 is a complete joke, I cant believe they advertised so much about nacar being in the game and it was such a small part of the entire package.
