I have been playing Far Cry 3, but since finishing all the outposts I feel my motivation to continue is waning. Maybe I'll do some of the bounties and the hunts, but the missions are otherwise fairly straightforward manshoots or Uncharted 'em ups, the former doesn't interest me much and the latter, well, I still need to finish Uncharted 3 and Far Cry 3 has the linear, easy bit down but is so far lacking any real excitement and spectacle.
Then at about 1am last night I started Analogue: A Hate Story on a whim. I had no idea what it was, I think I picked it up because it was cheap, but I kind of like it. I tend to enjoy unusual games and I've never played a game of whatever genre this is before, but I think it's the premise I enjoy more than anything so I'm not planning on making a habit out of it. I do wish it was possible to explore the ship you're on and the lack of voice acting and animation makes it a bit dry, but you just get engrossed in the story and forget about the rest or fill in the gaps with your imagination, kind of like Myst really. I think I'll finish it and move on to something with graphics and shouting, probably a Star Wars marathon starting with Dark Forces.
