What games are you playing now?

I'm enjoying Payday so much that I'm strongly considering a PC pre-order of Payday 2. It's £30, so it would be the fifth or sixth expensive Steam game I've ever bought at full price, but it's either that or the MGS Legacy Collection which is about £40 plus any shipping fees Play Asia want to charge. Alternatively I could wait until my brother or sister go back to America (they both now have relationships across the Atlantic for some reason), that would be cheaper.
I played the demo on the PS3 (guess the game is better on PC) and I didn't really like the controls. Aiming felt quite indirect.
Alone it was hardly fun, but when I played it with a mate it was really good. I was just missing something. Planning of the heist, preparing the place in expectation of coming cops, different character type/classes, etc. Also it wouldn't have worked without headset and sadly quite many don't have one (why?!?).
The game was relatively expensive and eventually I didn't buy it. I'll definitely have an eye on the second part though.

From what I've heard Payday 2 is going to improve a lot in those aspects, sounds promising.

Yeah, the PS3 controls are weird. It's as if the auto aim still works through walls or something because I noticed that if you hold the right stick either left or right you turn at different rates depending on where you're facing if there are enemies spawned, even if you can't see any. That made the sensitivity almost impossible to get used to so I found my accuracy sucked, but of course that drawback disappears on the PC version because it's just like any other FPS. I played it (the PC version) last night and was horrified; there were no more than 20 servers with the browser set to any location and any difficulty (the PS3 version was brimming with servers), and of the four that I joined, I was kicked twice before even getting into the game and disconnected twice shortly after arriving in the game! I figured it was because I was a level 6 so I decided to grind a few challenges solo whilst I waited for my friend who mentioned he wanted to try it out, by the time he arrived I was already level 15, then we played a few heists together and it was good fun, but not as good as with four people and his complaint was the same as yours; he expected a lot more of a set up, but what he got (in First World Bank, anyway) was 'walk in, find the bank manager, start the heist'. He thought we might be able to at least get to the drill before the shooting started.

After he left I hosted a game (Heat Street on Normal, not a good idea for a low level player like me with no armour or ammo upgrades!) which filled up quickly, but as soon as we failed for the first time, everyone left... The Steam forums are packed with people discussing Payday 2, presumably because there isn't a Payday 2 forum yet, so I guess that's where the action is.

I still really want to preorder it! I think I might just do it, I'm going to need something to play in the evenings for the next two weeks because jury service is just the dullest thing.

Enjoying the mess out of Dark Souls. Easily in my top 25 of all time. Unforgiving, but fair.

Have you gotten to Anor Londo or Tomb of Giants yet? I'd say those are pretty unfair... Though I plan to return to Tomb of Giants when I've levelled up a bit more and my Uchigatana is +15, that should sort things out. Same goes for the locked part of Darkroot Gardens, those ghosts are hard!

I'm just finishing up Dead Island Riptide, then I'll be moving onto Family Guy and then heading back to GTA 4 to get platinum.

After that it'll be;
Ferrari The Race Experience
Test Drive Ferrari Legends
GTA 5
F1 2013
GT6
PS4

And in between all that, I'll be reliving old memories and playing Crash Bandicoot with my dad.

Does anyone here play Tomb Raider?

Also I want to try to play a kiddie game from ps1 on my psp. I just don't know if it will work or not.

Your Tomb Raider is for what platform?
Send me a pm saying what ps1 game do you want play on your psp. Maybe I can help you, but I think it is illegal talk about custom firmware on this site.

Well, it's only Tomb Raider for ps1, the old one lol. Also I'm shy to say it, but the game is...Rugrats: Search for Reptar. I have played the game before for PS1 when I was just 8 y/o but haven't finished it ever since.

It's possible you get Rugrats: Search for Reptar game on your PSP,but you must have Custom Firmware. Send me PM if you want.
Also, if you have a 4gb memory card or more for your PSP, I can help you to get all 5 Tomb Raider'sgames for PS1 to your PSP as well.

Will it work on 6.60 PRO B10? I remember that I did this before but that was a long time ago and I can't even recall that one. And no thanks. I'm not asking for the Tomb Raider games of ps1. Just wanted to ask if some here plays it. The Rugrats is the only game I want to have to play it on my PSP.

I've made it to Anor Londo. It was indeed pretty darn tough. I had some help via summon through the most of it. I'll do it myself in NG+, hopefully.

I've yet to travel to the Tomb of the Giants just yet, though. Currently trying to beat Artorias to get that badass armor set, and Abyss Greatsword.

There's just so much to do, and to explore. So wonderful. What platform are you playing it on?

Madden 2013, NCAA 2014, gt5, and NASCAR inside line.

Madden comes out in 3 weeks. Gotta get ready for all the tournaments this year. I know this is my year to make a name for myself in the madden community.

But have you specifically made it past the first two archers in Anor Londo? As I and Luminis mentioned before, that's the first properly unfair part of the game. I'd say Tomb of Giants is similarly unfair (similar setup except without archers and it's pitch black in there), but with enough improvement I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard. I only tried it three times though, maybe there's an easy way around the, er, trouble. It's just weird (I suppose not too weird) that Pinwheel, the easiest boss in the history of bosses, precedes that particular part so maybe I'm missing something.

I'm playing on PC (so its the Prepare to Die edition) with a 360 pad. I love the game too but those two areas have left a sour taste so I'm taking this opportunity to enjoy properly fun games. I think I should probably spend some time reading up on a few things though.

I bought Payday 2 on Monday, I only got to try it last night. I really like it, some things are missing but on the whole it's an improvement. I mean, ok, so the challenges are gone (don't ask why I enjoyed having those, I guess it was the XP bonus) but you can stealth (some) entire heists now! And the release date was brought forward so the full game will be out next week, if I remember correctly.

Hey do you guys think skyrim and dark souls would be good to play on the ps3? Don't have a pc, is the gameplay good with the controller?

I don't mean to be a wise guy, but if you (or anyone else, really) want some advice for those two places:

First, you can skip the little pink devil-thingies in front of the archers and run that beam up to the centre pillar. The knights will stop shooting at you eventually, if you're hiding behind the pillar for a short while. Once they do, just run to to the pillar. The tricky part is to dodge the incoming arrows. Best way (in my opinion) is to keep your shield up and to make sure that your face is at a perfect 90° angle, relative to the wall. That way, arrows that hit your shield will only knock you back a step on the sill, and arrows that strike you from the back will make you faceplant onto it. You won't fall off, though. Just about the only way for me to reliably get past the archers.

Now, for the Tomb of the Giants. At first, I was friggin' scared of that darn place. However, there are two ways to make life much easier: First, level your intelligence to 14, save Dusk of Oolacile by killing the Hydra in Darkroot Basin and purchase the spell cast light from her, alongside the Oolacile Ivory Catalyst. Now that you can actually see where you're going, the tomb should be that much easier to navigate (and this way, you don't need to equip some stupid lantern instead of a shield). Otherwise, you could clear Lost Izalith first and try to get a Sunlight Maggot, but I generally prefer to use cast light - especially since I usually try to get Great Magic Weapon, anyway. The intelligence isn't wasted, that way.

The second thing you can do to make it easier is to level up your Pyromancy Flame and to get the Great Chaos Fireball for joining the Chaos Servant covenant. With that and 10+ humanity, you can basically onehit the huge, crawling dog-like skeletons which are, otherwise, pretty tough and annoying.

I'd try to get the Cast Light spell first and foremost, though. While you won't be able to onehit these skeleton beasts safely with it, you will still make short work of them with an Uchigatana +15 or a Great Scythe +15, if your weapon is enchanted with the aforementioned Greater Magic Weapon. Good luck out there, guys 👍

Dark Souls runs better on consoles than on a PC, generally. The PC port was pretty crappy and is basically unplayable without a controller or some mods. It's fine on the PS3, only thing you'd be missing out on are some mods that make it look better (in addition to getting it to work properly in the first place...). As for Skyrim, dunno. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, and even vanilla Skyrim offers a huge load of content. You'll be sinking dozens of hours into it, even more if you're getting some DLC. However, there are countless mods out for the PC version, which is what's keeping Skyrim alive on that platform. Personally, I wouldn't go back to playing it on a console ever since I've had the chance to play it on PC, but that shouldn't stop you from getting it.

My personal recommendation would be to go for Dark Souls first, though, if you have to pick one of these games. If only to be ready for Dark Souls II, which is supposed to be released in March 2014 :)

Been going between Ace Combat Assault Horizon and Grid 2. Trying to win everything back on Ace Combat while playing through Grid 2 and get all the cars.

Yea, I know exactly what you are talking about. That part was very hard. After several fails, I literally just ran up to the one on the right side, and took him out with a strong Black Knight Halberd. That satisfaction I felt once I got passed it was tremendous, however. I still havn't gone to the Tombs, yet.

I'm still trying to beat Artorias (who's incredibly aggresive). I can't even heal without him attacking me like a mad dog.

I've been on a Pokemon kick recently...I've been playing fan-made games like Pokemon Fusion Generations (great) and PokeMMO (awful, but it looks nice and it is indeed an actual MMO). In fact, I've been playing them less and less as I begin to design my own Pokemon-style game (one of many game designs I have floating around) that I hope to actually make eventually.

Before the Pokemon kick I was playing the new GT Academy for a bit, Victory: Age of Racing, Minecraft (with mods), and Need for Speed Most Wanted (PS3). Infamous came on the hard drive of the PS3 and I had never played it but I finally decided to try it (while waiting for GT Academy to download) and I spent a few days basically doing nothing but playing that. Fun game.

Are you still playing those Pokemon games?

Pokemon Fusion Generations and Pokemon Ruby are on hold. PokeMMO I'm still playing a little bit, just not as much as before. (I'm in one of those places where you spend over 9,000 hours just trying to level up your weak Pokemon by fighting wild ones so it's not the most enjoyable game ever at the moment. And no, I don't have an Exp Share yet.) I still have yet to find my DS and Platinum.

I've been playing a bit of Champions Online recently too. Thought I'd try something different.

Oh, that's...fantastic, to say the least.

What card do you use for playing DS? Is it R4, Acekard, etc. something like that? Also, do you cheat with it when playing Pokemon games, even if for once? I play them before but sadly, my cartridge got lost and I haven't found it at all. Then I bought a different one but the thing is, it doesn't have any cheats for fun.

I own a licensed copy of Pokemon Platinum which I bought for $60. Got the DS for free from a friend though. Also, the only games I use cheats in are GTA games, so no cheats either. But, I don't beat most of the games I play, all Pokemon games included.
