What games are you playing now?

I haven't had much time for gaming in the last two weeks but I took the opportunity this weekend to 100% Driving Revolution and Free Racing in Enthusia. Feels good. Now, back to focus on EL Mode and continue leveling up and collecting cars.

My brother bought me South Park The Stick of Truth for my birthday so I have been playing that a lot lately. I knew it would be hilarious and gross, but pleasantly surprised at how good the actual gaming aspect of it is. It's like a nasty Final Fantasy.

I added "Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed" and "PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale" to my PS3 collection. I am currently watching the intro video to "Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed" as I type this. So I haven't yet really PLAYED either game as of yet.

Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, and Forza Horizon 2 for 360.

Spending way more time than I plan every time I start up Train Fever.
I've had the "yikes-it's-that-late-already" scare quite a few times now.
Must say that the game is fun but can be quite frustrating sometimes, they released it too early I my opinion.

But despite it's flaws I still enjoy playing it.

Let me highlight a bit on the games I recently bought from my latest post here.

SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed is pretty fun. My first reaction is that I've loved Sonic's Speed Star car ever since the SEGA All-Stars Racing Series was established. I used Sonic for a majority of my time playing the game. I've mostly been using some of the other characters just to mix things up. From my latest playing, the most recent charater I unlocked was Danica Patrick (yes- HER.). She's fun in this game. I'm a Star or two away from unlocking Shadow as of this post. I almost didn't get this game because I couldn't find the PS3 version of it in stores.

Though it plays a lot like Super Smash Bros., PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is actually quite fun. The emphasis here is on beating opponents with Super moves rather than trying to knock them off the screen like you do in the Super Smash Bros. games. Maybe I'm so used to SSB than I do with this game, but I actually think of "PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale" is a slightly more mature Super Smash Bros.; and therefore, its character isn't as fun and as funny as the Super Smash Bros. games. You COULD think of it as SSB but with more mature characters and the occasional "damn" and "hell" used, and not to mention kills and deaths rather than knockouts. But it's still a good game.

I just wanted to update my thoughts on both games I recently started playing.

I'm slowly gearing up my Barbarian in Diablo III, but I'm really not playing as much as I'd like to. Lots of other stuff demanding attention - but I like it that way

Playing atm:

  • Destiny. - I played this ALL last week and now I am going to take about a week break from it. At the point where there isn't much else I can do or really want to do.

360
  • Minecraft
  • World of Tanks

PS3
  • Picked up Dead Space for a tenner yesterday. This was a rather odd choice for me personally since I almost exclusively plays racing games, but I had an itch for something space-y, survival and different. So far, so good. Having spent all afternoon and evening with the game (using headphones), I'm really enjoying it (besides slight annoyances) and currently at the beginning of chapter six.

The sound design is excellent, the atmopshere is lovely claustrophobic and you really do feel isolated and vulnerable. I'm also liking the shooting mechanics albeit it is taking me some time to get used to and the story is definitely keeping me interested.

Been playing quite a bit of Forza Horizon 2 (XB1) lately. And some FIFA15 (PS4) here and there.

With the odd game of Arma 3 (PC).

I've been delving into the depths of Minecraft: PS4 Edition over the past 2 days.

For now, just Smash Bros 3DS (usually as Palutena, or maybe Dedede, G&W, Falcon...Ike, Rob...)

Still mostly War Thunder, but I just started a new play through on Dark Souls II. Focusing more on coop this time. Might abort that again to play Lords of the Fallen, though. Not yet sure whether to buy now or wait for a Steam sale...

Since getting back to gaming a little I've played a bit of the new Borderlands - it's ok but I miss being at a super high level with awesome gear like I was in Borderlands 2 - and a bit of Payday 2.

Payday 2. It's one of my favourite co-op games and also one of my least favourite, the quality swings so enormously depending on who you're playing with. Destiny (excluding the raid, nightfall and sometimes weekly strikes (unless cheesing)), Killing Floor, Borderlands 2 - they're all doable with idiots in my experience because there's generally only one way to do things and you're going to be fighting enemies no matter what. Payday 2... Well, long story short, it's not like that and it's not doable with idiots unless it's one of the heists where you just shoot everything (thankfully the new one is one of those and it's actually pretty decent fun with a good payout which I expect will be nerfed). With friends, though, it's a lot of fun. Tonight I ran through a few heists with some guys from RPS, we made something like $3.5 million in, what, three jobs (which is why I didn't respond to your invite, @Jawehawk, sorry!) so I was able to buy some new guns that weren't shotguns or super weak but practically invisible stealth weapons. I haven't tried them out yet though. Next time I can afford to I think I'll buy some SMGs, pistols and some guns I used to have but sold to make inventory space before they added purchasable weapon slots.
