So I said this, and I really was intent on doing it, but things have taken an unexpected turn. Upon replaying Battlefront 1 on Xbox, I ended up having WAY more fun with it than I thought, with every session feeling just as good as the last, and it was perhaps the most fun I've had with the game yet. So much so, it has ruined Battlefront 2 for me, to the point that I kept finding myself wanting to go back to the first since I was having a better time with it. Which is very odd because for many years, I have always preferred the 2nd game over it and only occasionally felt otherwise, but this time is different.Welp, I had been on a NASCAR kick since early July, which saw my first major playthrough of NASCAR Rumble in 20 years, and even some time on some NASCAR PC games, but as of today, I am pretty burnt out from it. That said, I am moving on to the Star Wars Battlefront series, and I am playing through it right now. Starting with the first game on both PS2 and Xbox, and then eventually I am going to go to Battlefront II on both systems again and do the same. I am basically doing this as prep because I intend to give the PC version a proper go soon and eventually play with a bunch of mods for it, something I've been meaning to do for longer than I care to admit. I guess now is finally the time I do this, since it's been on my mind lately, and I've considered it for a long time now. 😎
Looks like I need to get this game too. I used to play GoW 1-3's multiplayer with my friends a lot back in the day. Fun times!Been many years since I've played the original Gears of War in any form so I got the Reloaded edition. Also seems I had the Ultimate Edition in my library I didn't notice until after purchase, not sure if there are drastic differences between the two.
In any case, it's great to revisit an Xbox classic, had good times with the GoW franchise back in the day. Would be nice to see remasters of 2 and 3 someday.
Feels like a lifetime ago but same here, used to play online multi-player Gears a lot. Wonder if I can convince my old buddies to play online again. Harder when we are all nearly 40 😂Looks like I need to get this game too. I used to play GoW 1-3's multiplayer with my friends a lot back in the day. Fun times!
Same, we're getting old lol. I can hardly believe that I'll be 40 five and a half years from now. Feels surreal.Feels like a lifetime ago but same here, used to play online multi-player Gears a lot. Wonder if I can convince my old buddies to play online again. Harder when we are all nearly 40 😂
I completed Gears of War Reloaded already and I admit it was shorter than I remember. Not disappointingly short, but I could swear there was more to it.Been many years since I've played the original Gears of War in any form so I got the Reloaded edition.
I get that feeling every morning... and I admit it was shorter than I remember. Not disappointingly short, but I could swear there was more to it.
Gears of War relatively short campaign is refreshing when compared with 40+ hrs marathons. The very underrated Outriders has a lengthier campaign with a good story and gameplay IMO (single player looter-shooter with some cover mechanics too, but it will punish you if you abuse it.)I completed Gears of War Reloaded already and I admit it was shorter than I remember. Started downloading Gears 4 and 5 since I'm still in the Gears mood and those two I have not revisited since they first launched.
Downloaded RoboCop: Rogue City a few months back but hadn't got around to playing it until this weekend. I wasn't expecting much from it, although i know it was well received when it came out, but it absolutely nailed that future-in-the-80's asthetic. The enviroment graphics are spot on and really well detailed but its perhaps let down by some of the characters faces in the cut scenes. They have very detailed textures, but their facial movements and the lighting on them feels a couple of generations old, which really sticks out compared to the level of detail in the background. I've also found it to be a bit glitchy, even in the the short time i've played it, but nothing so far that spoils it.
In a way it remins me a lot of Star Wars: Outlaws, which i played through recently. They both got their respective film enviroments absolutely spot on - i totally felt like i was in the Star Wars or RoboCop 'worlds' whilst playing them, everything about them was completely authentic in feeling. But as with Outlaws i feel the gameplay may quickly get repetitive and the maps restrictive once the novelty wow of the visuals wears off. Still, i imagine it will be a fun if single play-through sort of game.
Playing some real old classics, Syndicate plus via dosbox & Syndicate Wars running the hd port mod for SWars so full 1080 widescreen support & zoom in/out mod so it isn't so close & extra stuff enabled that was apparently cut from the original + custom content.
This is it now.
How it used to be
Rather ironically i didn't even pay a dollar for it, not directly anyway, as i'm pretty sure it was one of the free monthly PSN games.
Got this on my watchlist. Really like the OG SWAT games and I much prefer a paced shooter, definitely will pick it up at some point*Just bought Ready Or Not for PS5 despite never liking tactical shooter that much.
Wow this game is amazing. Really intense (reminds me of the first Insurgency), the guns are punchy, the AI teammates are useful at times. 9/10
