I can't understand you. All you do is complain about chicken and bugs and other crap you won't eat. You barely put any thought into your responses, it drives me nuts!

At least I try to explain why things grind my gears. And like all my gear grinders are different.

I'm not attacking you, just pointing out what has occurred and how you can learn from it.

Instead of taking 3 seconds to post, take a minute and think about what you're going to post, then post what your thinking.

And preying? Seriously? Preying would be if I liked you, and I don't like you.

Wasn't arguing, just pointing out the obvious. And I said I was done, which meant it was done.

I thought that was what finished meant .

Anyway, the current thing grinding my gears is my schools inconsistent heating. In the tech wing its like 100 'F, in the business wing its like 70 'F, and the rest is like 65 'F. I have to go from sweater to t-shirt to long sleeve shirt to sweater. All that in a 4 hour period. Is it really that hard to have one, consistent temperature?

Well, many foods were canned in those times. The lining for the seals was lead, lead got in food. Lead is known to have made people loopy, thus we used people as slaves and thought it was logical. Hope I helped. [/Sarcasm]

It still continues to baffle me.. The conditions of the boats were the worst, most never made it.. And those who did were sold off to farms and had to do unpaid labor for the rest of their life..

There's one biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig problem with that statement, or opinion at least; we (by which I take you mean the Caucasian population) did not kidnap Africans to make them slaves, it was fellow black Africans who kidnap and incarcerated the slaves, and then sold them to us.

What grinds my gears is people that can't deal with life's little problems. Kids my age (15-16) complaining about how since they argue with their parents now, they will never get along later in life. Or how a bunch of little things in schoo la d at home make them say how they should kill themselves, you WILL grow up and live on your own, it's not the end of the world. A few more years of arguing, maybe, then off to college, a career, or whatever. Get over it!

My post's usually consist of at least something substantial and are more than one line long.

I refrain as much as possible from spamming crap in here because some of the quality rants make for interesting reading and I'd like to feel that my quality rants provide the same entertainment for others.

The only time I post here without ranting is usually to respond to AT poking fun at mine or other peoples posts, which still makes for an interesting read.

Allow to explain slavery and why it was an option at the time.

Many slaves came from Africa as we know. At that time we weren't as civilised as we are now but Africa was still warring across the board. When one tribe defeated another the men would be captured and sold to the, usually, Europeans who used them for the purpose of labour much in the same way we now use machines.

So actually blaming the European slave traders is only half of the story. How about those tribes that sold rival tribesmen to them in the first place?

What is worse - enslaving your countryman and selling him into bondage, or taking advantage of a source of cheap labour?

They are both as bad as each other but it seems to be forgotten that the slaves own creed also played a major role and because of this the blame for slavery becomes the burden of the evil white beast.

OK, you want a rant? How about this.

Tenants who you've trusted for the last seven years and out of sympathy and due to their unfortunate circumstances have led you to not put their rent up decide they need to move on and leave, only for you to find that they have trashed the house and left it in a state unfit for new tenants - doors missing, holes in the ceiling, carpets removed, broken kitchen cupboard doors, broken toilet, etc, etc. This leaves you with £1000's of damage and no rental income for the following two months on a property whose mortgage relies on the rent, plus they don't give a s*** about their deposit which covers only a fraction of the costs. This would grind your gears!

Puts 'my mummy grinds my gears' into perspective.

I don't apologise for coming on here for some fun.

I actually had a similar thing happen to me.

I ran a tea house for my first year in China and when the managers family got evicted from their home I said the could put up in the back of the tea house.

The business wasn't very viable so I had to close it but I told them they could stay there until the paperwork was finalised and then they'd have to ship out.

I came back one day to hand over the keys and remove all of the furniture and fitting only to find they'd done a bunk in the night and cleaned the place out, smashed the pool table and lift a turn in the middle of the room.

The furniture was old but still worth something and the pool table was a lease which cost me fortunes to get repaired. The boiler and all the plumbing was gone, the whole place was gutted.

So I can sympathise with what you're dealing with. That is definitely worth the rant. Hope you find a way to work it out.

Cheers mate. What's compounded it is the fact that the tenant won't even allow us to get in there to sort it out or show people around and has got quite aggressive and violent about it. The police had to be called at one point when an elderly relative of mine went to the house to see how he was getting on and show an agent around. They've advised us not to go near him until he's left as he's so unstable!
