That's sweet that you're into vinyl as well. Sounds like you have an amazing collection! My collection is only a small one, but hey, turning it over is well worth the effort! 👍

I love the popping sounds and such, and the collection is mostly his, but yes, vinyl is great.

Ok, here's a gear grinder. My girlfriend told me she was done cutting, that she doesn't do it anymore (it's been a few months). I've just been informed by her that she did it the other night, and I don't even know what to say. I don't get it, sure there's argumets with parents and such, but most teens do that, and most teens don't cut themselves. I don't even know..

Lol pls tell me you are also a teen. Just tell that kid to call you and talk instead. She gets into a fight and is upset than talks about it. Safer and easier for everyone.

Talking of gear grinders, where's Jai? Did he just vanish?

madmike1986
He's having a new Transmission/gearbox installed :sly:

VANDENAL
Yeah, where did he go? I kind of miss his chicken rants.

mattythedog
He posted earlier today, but nothing since then.

EliteDreamer
I'd imagine school may be interfering with his online time?

Dun dun derrrrrrrrr. He just posted again in the mine craft thread. Come here Jai. We need you.

Girls who literally stalk me and then if I like them and I ask them out they say no but then continue stalking. :/

I find that vinyl tends to have a really good mid-to-high range fidelity (almost the equal of CDs, maybe a bit better in some cases), but they lack base compared to CDs. This is a gear-grinder. :grumpy:

But I try to get rid of the cracks and pops - clean and dust-free records seem to keep it to a minimum. Just gave ZZ Top's Afterburner a go - sounds good! 👍

I have to disagree, the only time I listen to vinyls is in my basement, to work out, play gt, or with friends, but since that's the only place I listen, I don't mind the lack of bass or the popping, I think it gives it character. Besides, I'm listening through a 25 (at least) year-old stereo, with 15-20 year-old speakers, still sounds great and loud, so I'm happy.

My player is in my bedroom, and it's running through a relatively new system. There are a couple of albums I have on both vinyl and CD and I can usually notice a little bit of difference. Not a ton, but a slight bit. It doesn't make the sound bettor or worse in my opinion - it's part of what makes records records.

But as long as we're all happy that's all that matters! 👍

Anne+Reece. He wouldn't leave me alone, even after repeatedly asking him to do so. He drives me :censored:ing nuts!

Well it might be that these vinyls are all from the year that they came out, mostly 60s 70s and early 80s.

Record players are awesome. My dad has all the records, but I own the record player. so we listen to classic rock albums together. The records sound better than the tapes IMO.

This is very true

Having a cold and having a few big things coming up:
Tomorrow I have two marching band performances, which will be great with a runny nose and cough. Luckily, I'm a drummer so I don't have to worry about filling my instrument with nasty germs. Anyways, then I have another day of school, then Thanksgiving, where I will be grumpy because I don't feel good I can already see youngest that will go. My could SHOULD be gone by December, given in is nearly two weeks away, but If not I have 3 Christmas music performances, us practices.

It doesnt matter. He's 9 hours ahead of GMT, so he will probably be asleep now.

Nope, I'm up :)

Pulling the graveyard shift at work.

To clarify, everything in my life is pretty much perfect. Still I'm feeling kind of low. Not much more detail I can give, sorry...

Nah, I've been depressed for the most of my youth (28 now) & that's not it.

Probably just sleep deprived or whatever :)

Exam edudicators who keep on at you about being on time for exams and then are 30mins late themselves.

BubbleBelly542
Um... Have you tried meds?

Nope, I decided I would make it on my own. I mean, I'm not depressed anymore, I'm probably just having a really ****** week without any real reason.

The depression growing up was the result of a lot of things that happened, I've put all that behind me :)

True. Most of mine are from whichever period they came out in - the challenge is looking for gently used ones. Mine all came from thrift stores and yard sales.

Well, my parents and I both have our own players and collecctions, but we all share our albums.

If you want to REALLY appreciate CDs and records, go and buy yourself an 8-track player. :D I have an old Panasonic 8-track player form the 70s, and while novel and very cool in a very 70's-ish way, it sounds VERY inferior to the other mediums.

However, I think further discussion of this topic would be better served by its own thread. Should we start one and see where it goes?

Up to you

Was at the in-laws earlier. My brother-in-law moaned that he was probably going to have to get the bus to work this week because he can't afford to fill the tank on his car. Fair enough, he's on fairly poor wages as an electricians apprentice and his girlfriend doesn't have a job.

What really annoyed me though was when the subject of christmas came up, what does his girlfriend say they're getting their two year old son? A Tonka truck and an iPad.

An ipad for a two year old. Seriously.

*whistles and stares at screen*

Wow - why? Just why? How could they possible use it? Or do the parents just want one and feel some urge to try and justify it in relation to their finances by claiming that they're caring for their kid?

Also, who is this? You're saying this like we're supposed to know! I'm confused.
