What Grinds your Gears?

OOooooooh. Ouch... ... Anyway, a new rant.

The way people depict smarter people or people who do their work at school into images, they put up an image of a class, 99% of the students doing nothing and they put one "nerd" there. But they're not a nerd, they just understand that schooling is important. It's disrespectful to the students who work hard to get their marks/grades and it isn't needed.

Of all things, I hate puppies, they may seem cute, but when you get them. Oh god, they're little feet eating demons. I feel trapped in my room afraid of the roaming devils.

Sorry for quoting myself but this is to get through a point. Those puppies are now the coolest dogs EVER!!!!

I took the time to type up a whole carefully worded essay and post it and literaly a couple minutes later a guy posts a link to here.

Because this is where the gears are ground. We don't need a separate thread for video games, this one encompasses all things that get our pulses racing.

Plus it's not 'mini modding' as you so put it, it's the community trying to save you the effort of investing in a thread when one already existing thread serves the same purpose and has been going for a while.

A lot of people on here will try to help out and also correct people or make them aware of the rules, not because they're goal in life is to be a moderator, it's because it helps things run smoothly and sometimes stops other from making rule breaking mistakes.

People being rude for no reason really annoys me. A guy I work with thinks it's okay to interrupt people when they are speaking and it ****'s me off so much sometimes that I let rip at him. I'm a very placid person but that alone is enough to set me off.

The commercialization of holidays, if that's a word. Thanksgiving isn't just about food, it's about being thankful for what you've got. Christmas, well to some it holds no meaning except presents and food, but it comes from religion. The Fourth of July is about this country gaining freedom. Because of this, instead of being controlled by Britain for however much longer it would have lasted, we get to be FREE. It isn't to sell fireworks, or swim gear, or anything. Sure Gustavo part of a great Fourth of July celebration, but that's not what it's for.

Basically what I'm saying, is big companies try and get people to forget what holidays are for, and just get us to buy, buy, buy. If that makes sense.

Thanksgiving is absolutely about food. Christmas is also very much about gift giving (echoing what the 3 wise men did) and feasting (echoing the pagan winter solstice tradition of slaughtering animals mid-winter as a rare source of fresh meat in a time of year when it isn't readily available)

Yes it's over commercialised. But it's also a great boost to economies.

Like my local council. They are closing libraries and leisure centres while building a new £15,000,000 headquarters, even though the 'old' one is only 10-15 years old.

Na, I'm just kidding, but to watch football for the support of a team is one thing, to watch football for it's finesse, then you want Serie A. Some classy football to be had there.

To watch a sport of any kind not supporting anyone is difficult as it's almost inevitable to favour a team or individual after seeing them play long enough... however to watch a competitive game for it's finesse is ideal imo..

'Tis true. I used to watch the Rolex Cup and NASCAR and all kinds of racing without knowing who to gun for. I just enjoyed the form presented in the sport.

This morning while I was still sleeping and enjoying it, I some guy (or landscaper, but I doubt they'd be working on Thanksgiving) decides that it's the perfect time to rip out the chainsaw and start trimming stuff. He did this for an hour. Finally, I get fed up and get up. About five minutes after I'm up, the chainsawing is finished.
And yesterday, I ended up waking up at 7:45 in the morning (same time I wake up to go to school) because I was being attacked by allergies, and it was making breathing a serious chore.
It's like the world doesn't want me to sleep in and enjoy five days off from school.

What grinds my gears? Well, besides the incredibly slow Subaru 360, it's the hate on various things. What is going on with all this Justin Bieber hate? I don't listen to his music, but I don't tolerate it either. I'm just into other things. And that Friday song by Rebecca Black. Why hate? The web accepts ponies. Come on, people. Wake up.
