Classic music.

Credence Clearwater Revival
Buffalo Springfield (For What it's worth)
The Rolling Stones
The Doors
Metallica

I even have a 50's doo woop song on my iPod! :p

ALL of those bands are awesome :D

Like what? I'm always looking for generally unpopular bands :)

EDIT: 500 posts away to 3000. Whoo!

They are alternative rock, the two I'm really thinking of right now. One is the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus which is getting more recognition, but the other is Cartel. The music is great and the lyrics have great meaning. That goes for both bands.

Are these supposed to be unknown? I don't like classic rock or metal but I've heard all of these bands except for the Buffalo one.

I prefer Alternative Rock/Rock a bit more but I'll try anything :) Also I hope we're not going off-topic..

I don't really mean unknown, just awesome IMO, some of my favorite songs.

And considering I don't think many people listen to them anymore.

Guys, this is a Gear Grinding thread. Not a music discussion thread, I definitely don't think MadMike would approve of this. :grumpy:

Raceroom's sign up system really annoys me. I had to sign up 2 times before actually the site realized I had joined. Took 45 minutes longer to purchase GTL because their site is somewhat faulty! I resent activation emails to my email address and never received anything! It's just annoying, now I have to wait 4 and a half hours to play GTL instead of 3 and a half. :grumpy:

I mentioned that we were going off-topic, but yes, you're right. Sowwy :(

GTL is a racing game. What grinds my gears? Accidentaly overwriting my Redskins Madden Franchise save game when saving my Broncos franchise.

I can't stand this, every day at school I feel like I'm going to punch someone in the face, I have zero tolerance for anybody anymore, I don't feel like talking to anyone, my girlfriend thinks I'm annoyed of her because of it, and I can't even stay awake in school. I'm going to sleep hopefully at 10:00 tonight, so I can get some rest for once, that'll keep me from thinking about anything, as sleeping just keeps you in a state of nothing.

What is GTL?

What also grinds my gears is that it's summer and burning hot. Yet it is cloudy and threatening to rain. WEATHER MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!! I wouldn't mind if perhaps almost every day in Summer was like this! Here in the Wellington region we don't get Summer. Just more rain, we've had storms in Summer before!!! Our winter had more sun that our bloody Summer. It's so agitating!!!

I'd rather have that than be walking to school in the 20-degree range like I've been.

Gear grinder: You guys posting so much in 24 hours. :irked: I don't have the time to read all of it but I really want too. :(

Ok enough distraction, I'm off to the old dusty trail, gear grinder is that I will have to catch up on the posts.

Wait, summer?

Oh right. You're in Aus/NZ

Cold here. :(

They were big Vietnam-Era bands, and songs I think. :)

For CCR - Fortunate son
Buffalo Springfield - For What it's worth
Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil, Gimme Shelter
The Doors - Break on through (to the other side)

Idk if The Doors were 'Nam-era though.
Besides the rest, Sympathy for the Devil was just Jagger's idea of a folk song from the devil's viewpoint. The song comes from old French writing, according to Jagger. Has nothing to do with 'Nam, really.

You know what grinds my gears?
Today in English we were watching a movie about Anne Frank. Every five minutes, the teacher says something, like "Notice how they do this" or "Make note of what is happening here". Just let us watch the movie! :grumpy:

Still, NZ's weather! As I said we get bad weather, at the moment here we have some serious flooding (not where I am)!! Hello Winter, I mean Summer?

Same in geography today. We were watching a programme on volcanoes and every time the guy mentioned s volcano, my teacher paused the film and said write this, this and this. So annoying.

Oh no! Film study!! this has ruined watching films for me. No matter what I watch I see bits and it makes me think of how that stuctures the movie and how things fall into place. Now I just stick to comedy programs. Mainly Father Ted, Black Books, The Young Ones and Blackadder.

The news definately, once you see a report about something you know about in great detail, you will look at the news as either a kiddie show or a bunch political nonsense being made from political nonsense, all they care about is ratings, but they are such good pitchmen you kind of get hooked on stories you could really careless about, around my house the tv goes on at 6:10 for the weather then the channel is changed or turned off

Just blew the fuse on a US to AUS/NZ power transformer, I swear I got the plugs the right way 'round as well :grumpy:

The girls you like being snapped up by Johnny D!ckhead while you're having panic attacks on the sidelines.

History was awesome for us. We got to watch 40 minutes of films (half the lesson) following the teacher going over the historical inaccuracies.
I remember we once watched parts of Braveheart (a terribly inaccurate film). It was not the best was to 'learn', but it was fun.
