Tell us about something you saw, heard or did today that made you smile or laugh... preferably not a 'joke' or something you read at GTP, but something that actually happened today (or v. recently)...
Although it happened last night (and Sunday), I just remembered this today:-
Yesterday, I was watching a television programme about a silly woman who tried to smuggle heroin in Thailand and got caught. I had the subtitles on as well, since I'm choked with a cold and my ears are blocked, but the TV reception wasn't great, so the subtitles were somewhat incomplete. At one point, the woman (narrating) said that after she had been caught, she couldn't think of anything else other than "how it was going to affect my parents"... unfortunately, due to the poor reception, a couple of letters dropped out and so the subtitles read "how it w s going to affect my pa nts" - I couldn't help thinking that if I had been arrested for smuggling heroin in Thailand, I'd be worried about the state of my pants as well...
That reminded me that on Sunday night, the same thing happened while I was watching a programme called 'The 100 Greatest Cartoons'... during a clip from 'Finding Nemo', a character shouts "NEMO!", but again, due to the poor reception, the subtitle read " EMO!"...
