To be fair to him, he was only trying to help you not get banned.

My computing life today has consisted of: Moving my PC between my TV and sim rig (finished to a useable state today) to do some, well, sim racing. It has been fun but now my eyes are killing me because this screen is so bright so it's time to get off of the internet, which is just so white...

To be fair. Jumping at someones throat and instantly assuming that they pirated a game is just stupid.

Tesla
Copied my home music library to our school netbooks/notebooks/craptops only to find out that running any .exe's except for pre-installs is blocked and requires a format, which is also blocked on the software side :ouch: I'm stuck with iTunes/Windows Media Player now, I miss Foobar :(

On the plus side, the filter allows Formula 1 streaming, GTPlanet and some other forums I go on, so it sortof balances out :D

Scratch that, administrator account and unblocked internet (only at home, mind you) 👍 Completely reversible as well for when the techies check them.

Just finished 48 hrs of computer assembly, the whole weekend so to speak.
The parts look great and everything fits, even after powder coating the whole thing.
Now it's 24 hrs leak testing and then up to sleeving and rewire the system.
Can't wait to run BF3 on my triple SLI system :D

Ordered new monitor.

oohhh yeaahhhh

Now to resist buying another....

I have been trawling the net looking for a decent barebones kit for a Q6600. With it being an older processor its becoming a pain in the proverbial.

I would like to find a motherboard which will support overclocking it (it's the G0 stepping edition so should be a good overclocker). Once I find one, I can commit to buying a 560ti 448.

I could just buy a new processor, but I'm not ready to say goodbye to my trusty Q6600. It's been a trooper.

I'm drunk too...

...on fruit juice.

Well I had fun swearing at a rig today, setup the wrong HDD and effed up Windows. Then once I'd got the key working properly, (somehow) something got corrupted and it keeps BSODing after the loading screen. :grumpy: I'm not happy...

I have very good experience with Shuttle Barebones.
My living room PC is running a QX9650 in my "old" SX48P2 Deluxe.
But if you want to OC, you don't get far with the stock cooler.
I will rebuild my system now for watercooling ;)

Btw. the SX48P2 is also fitting for your CPU and still available ;)

Created a custom group of desktop icons. I got tired of the boring normal ones.

And laid out some templates for some forum images.

Thanks for the tip mate, but the videocard I plan to run with this set up is just a few mm longer than the dimensions of that case:

I think a nice sleek black case and a new mobo, psu and a little bit of DDR3 are the orders of that day.

@spunwicked

I have a GTX280 in my system, which is about the same length, but if you want i can measure the slot size.
Anyway in a barebone you should think about watercooling for the components, just to get the heat out of the case.
IMO Shuttle gives the best option, as you have 90% of the hardware you need already in the case.
If you want some ideas you can also PM me, i'm always ready to help ;)

That's a great barebones Dunc, apparently the Motherboard supports 7.1 audio and 8GB of DDR3. That's a steal at the price considering it comes packed with a 500w PSU. Is that going to be enough power for what I want to run?

Nvidia recommends a 500w PSU minimum for the GTX 570. The 560Ti 448 would be just about the same thing(It's almost a GTX 570). So you can easily live of of a 500w PSU.

The 560 draws 150w and they recommend 450w so you should be ok. Note however that the PSU is in OCUK's 'Value' range so it may not be all that good.

I think I will most likely just get the bits and construct from scratch, that way I can guarantee a good PSU. It's one of those things that would be mad to scrimp on.

I'm going to get the MB listed as part of that barebones though, ebuyer has them for about £35 which is pretty good value.

^^ Me likey. Mind swingin' round my place and doing mine? I'll pay for the airfair, and put you up for the night (Melbourne to Rocky airfares are going cheap now, $80 one way, same for return. And I can put a mattress in the shed for you :P).

Just edited my toolbars in FireFox. Got rid of some shortcut buttons that I don't use, now I gotta get used to the new layout. I'll bet you any money now I've removed them, I'll go "Shouldn't have removed them...:grumpy:" and suddenly find a use for them...
