Hi, I don't have GT5, but I would like to know what is the best car to start out with? This may help other people too! Oh and Happy Holidays:)

Depends if you want to do the Licenses or not.

If you do then buy the cheapest car you can then use the car you win from the License tests.

If you don't want to do Licenses i'd say the Civic Type R or the Mazda MX-5

I don't think there's a 'best' car. But the premium Eunos Roadster (MX5) is quite a good choice, in my opinion. It does quite a few events, including an endurance event. So upgrading it is never a waste. Your B-Spec driver will appreciate it later on :D

But you can win it in an event anyway can't you?

The first races are way too easy anyway, I used a lupo for around 15,000 and spent 5,000 on parts and it was already much faster than all cars in beginner events

I bought the Silvia that was in my UCD. The best looking BHP/KG ratio for a LVL.0 car under 20,000cr. I never used it, because i did all of the licences and special events before the Sunday Cup!:dopey:

There are a fair few depending on what you do. I bought a Mazda Autozam as my first and it was a perfectly suitable starting car. It's no good for anything but the Lightweight K cup and possibly the Sunday cup with some luck. Still, a K-car was neccessary for events so it's a good buy. There is no bad starting car really, as there's events for all of them. Both the Civic and Miata are probably more versatile, but both are useful in events too. Civic for FF cup and the Miata for the roadster event.

Well, not to my knowledge. I guess I have only one in my garage and I bought it...

Either way, you could always do the licenses first, and some special events like the AMG Driving School, win a gokart and do these events as well. YOu'll have enough money to buy something like an NSX or something to start the game with.

Buy the premium MX-5 from the Mazda dealership and then buy the ECU to get the "every last penny" trophy or whatever that is.

I missed this opportunity, and ended up playing "the price is right" at the UCL after buying the FGT to get rid the rest of my cash.

Thanks for your replies guys, got the game for christmas and got the new Mazda MX-5 Roadster '91. Now I have a Corvette Z06 RM in my garage and I am at level 15!

I bought a used second-gen MX-5 from used car dealership. Later, when I earned some money, I bought a Corvette Z06 (C5), used one.

Another vote for a 90's Miata of some sort. Most likely there'll be one in the used dealership. Otherwise you can get the new one. You buy the Miata, you'll only need to buy 2 more cars to complete the first two tiers of both A-Spec & B-Spec. You'll need a truck for sure, and probably something to do the first MuscleCar Championship with. Every other race can be entered and won with with the Miata, cars that the Miata wins, or cars that those cars win. :)

Do that, save up your cash, and you'll have plenty to spend when you hit the 3rd tier (Professional) which will probably require the purchase of 4 or 5 cars.

The Eunos Roadster with the ECU. You get a car that can compete in multiple events. Plus the 19,000cr Premium car & ECU Chip take your credits to ZERO for the Penniless trophy. 👍

Yes, I did yesterday when I got the game and I increased to level 16 now. I think this is the best starter car in GT5.

Just use the birthday exploit and get a 20 million cr. historic racer.. any of them is a good beginning car

I bought the kart and went to the challenges. When you get a good way into that you will not only have a few cars that will win the first two tiers, but you will also have a chunk of change. My first actual car to buy was a ZR-1......... Still had around 800K left to play with.

I bought the MX5 the first time around.

This time round I bought the 1976 VW golf.

In the First tier you can do the Sunday cup, FF Challenge, World Compact and European Classic series.

In the Second tier you can do the Clubman Cup, European Hot hatch and Super car Nostalgia. Most of these can be done without upgrading the car at all since the AI is so slow in these levels.

Third tier. You can use it for the Super car festival, and the Granturismo World championship. By now though if your like me you need it heavily modified and might still struggle.

Fourth tier. Tuning car cup, Schwartzwald league A and Turbo Series (if modified). Again the car is heavily modified and you still may or may not be able to win the Golds. With practice though it is possible.

After this the Golf has pretty much had its day for me but better players might even be able to take it further!!

I think this is the most usefull car and probably best value for money?

I went for the Toyota Yaris Turbo, best car I feel for the Vitz cup, it's a strong FF and it's decent for the beginner league.
