Ram 1500 Laramie.. by far the most redneck.

To me it's the ultimate expression of overconsumption. I can understand you buy this car if you move elephants or bulldozers for a living. But if you don't, it's just a rediculous car.
I see em every now and then here in Europe, but it's like watching a really really fat girl trying to do ballet. Or watching a blimp trying to manouvre.
That car just doesn't have a place over here, and the people driving it really are a 'certain kind' of people. (again, over here in Europe I mean)...

With 'certain kind' I don't mean better or worse, I mean it like golfers are a certain kind of people or managers are a certain kind of people.
Laramie drivers, to me over here in Europe, are the ultimate rednecks.

People haul motorcycles and cars with them. I see it all the time.

Gotta be the Laramie son...

Oh yeah, pick up truck, don't get much more red neck than that. :)

Dodge hemi truck...

My vote goes for the Ram 1500. Especially mine since I painted it a dark almost Army green from the Superbird :D

Before long every American car in the game will have been nominated

My vote goes to the Ram.

Ram 1500 for sure.

For sure the dodge truck.

I drive a Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie...and I'm as redneck as it gets. I guess my choice is obvious. Now all the game needs is camper top upgrades for the trucks, lmao.

Ram 1500 Laramie.. by far the most redneck.

Any NASCAR, Dodge RAM.

I AM NOT A REDNECK! http://https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5063627#post5063627:lol:

All of those cars except the superbird someone in my family owned once :indifferent:

The Ram when you lift it as a monster truck and the IROC Camaro when you leave it dirty and rusted. :D

1970 charger. painted orange. at least the one in the game dose not have the #01 on the door and the confederate flag on the roof

The General is pretty redneck to me

People who say pickups are the ultimate sign of over-consumption are truly mistaken and way too judgmental.

My BMW 7 series got 11 MPG. My Ford F-150 gets 20.

The Ford is extremely useful, and at 20 MPG is not really that uneconomical as a commuter car (some don't really understand what an MPG is... the difference between 15 and 20 is more than the difference between 20-30). I fill the tank perhaps once every 45 days or so. The idea I have to haul an elephant to have benefited from it is absurd. Compared to a sports car (Which I certainly appreciate too), I have benefited much more directly from the truck.

For some reason, folks look at trucks, the ultimate in utility, and see 'overconsumption', I guess because the vehicle is really large. The real 'over consumption' is in sporty small cars, which have lower utility and often worse mileage to boot.

I have no problem with laughing about rednecks or anything... it's just amusing how someone will appreciate a Porsche and then sneer at a Ram.

Redneck? Gotta be the Dodge Ram. But the IROC Camaro isn't redneck at all, it's white trash.

A mid 80's Chevy Malibu is the top Redneck vehicle around here. It has the same body as the Buick GNX but is definitely NOT the same car. Of the cars in the game I'd say the IROC Z or pickup truck. They're about equal.

80s malibu is nowhere near a GNX body . A cutlass or monte carlo are on the same platform as the buick regal which is what a GNX is. I would agree the IROC has a kinda joe dirt aspect to it ..lol

Nah, a "tuned-up" truck is pretty much the american redneck car.

By "tuned up" I mean vertical exhaust out of the bed, an enormous, impractical and useless lift, a classy sticker on the back, confederate flag somewhere and some "truck nutz".

Often it's close enough behind me that I can't see anything out of my mirror other than the brand logo.

The engine has to be either a smoke-spewing deisel or a supercharged Hemi V-8

I'm was gonna say Iroc, but then I remembered that all the rednecks and white trash around here drive fox body stangs, SN95 cars and late model F bodies. Most of the 80s f bodies are either bought up by guys looking for budget performance or are rusted out junk waiting to be parted out or crushed.

And as a hillbilly, I'm close enough to redneck that my opinion is the only one that matters.

I'm closing this as regardless of if some people are fine with the word, it's not acceptable, as it definitely carries negative connotations. The argument that some people consider themselves one, or that it's acceptable, is a slippery slope, as there are plenty of other offensive terms out there that someone is bound to be okay with.
