What is wrong with the online racing and people discriminating ???

This may sound like a typical response from a Scotsman but by far the worse abuse I have witnessed has been by the English. Don't get me wrong I have met loads of clean racers and nice folk from down south on GT5 aswell. I have only been kicked from Spanish, English and French rooms.However I had a good couple hours in an "Arab Only" room and they didnt seem to care I am a white Scotsman

Yesterday I played my second online race ever in GT. It was not a very pleasant experience. First, I went into a free run room hosted by a guy from France.
When I entered, there were about 5 french people there, so I started to suspect something...and yes, while doing my (clean) laps on Suzuka, after 2 laps I got kicked with no reason.
Communities are such great fun...*sigh*.

Second room I decided to join a Monza race over 5 laps, but I got bumped into the wall after about 250 metres. And then over and over again, so I quit.

Probably didn't fit into their little group of elite racers...

Still, I'm not giving up. I will find some new friends who enjoy a clean and fun
race without it turning into destruction derby

I once got kicked from a room for being American. I entered a Super GT race with 15 other Japanese players. I beat every one of them fair and square in my Lexus Bandia SC430. Afterwards, I saw a few texts with the word "USA" (And much confusing symbol) in them. The next thing I know, I've been kicked.

I don't think this had happened because of your nationality. This is normal... nobody likes to be beaten and moreover you need to be a superior (thinking) person to be able to admit your inferiority ! (sorry for my bad English, I hope I was understood)
I usually send a greeting message to somebody who beats me in a fair game (although my pride tends to prevent me of doing this )

I also think its funny how many people like you percieve Americans ( A country probably more diverse than any country on the planet ) as ignorant and race intolerant.

Actually Canada is the most culturally diverse nation on Earth, about 20% of our population is foreing born, if you really want I'll post our census data and the UN study done on it. Not too mention we have legislation demanding culturally we must respect one another. Not meaning to take away what your point was though. I live on the USA-Canada boarder there isn't much difference between us. As for racist I don't think anyone in North America can be raised with out coming into contact with it. In the USA it's directed more towards people of african decent, in Canada we have many of those same attitudes towards First Nations Peoples. Wherever one group of people has the dominance of a socio-economic system, racism and discrimination are bound to happen.

I think we cant do anything about it. It just always is there. I got a dutch flag because I live here but im full of turkish blood. I often see/hear people making fun of turkish people or other people . I always give a professional respond and report them. Then they stop or they leave. I really wonder what happens with the reports lol. I've never seen that PD undertook any action.

Kicking annoying people is ok ( example : Drift lobby and a X2010 racer ). If you want to be with friends only => Go to a lounge. The ''Open'' lobby is for everyone.

Doesn't work, I run a race series for my friends, when in a private lounge the connection is terrible, each time we meet up maybe 5 people a night can't connect.

Open a online lobby and for some reason the connection isn't so bad.

We now race in a open lobby, but the title of the room is 'INVITE ONLY - NO ENTRY'. We still get 5-10 english speaking guys gatecrashing every night, crazy.

If Polyphony sorted the connection out, then yes, we'd race in a private room everytime, but why should my friends and I suffer not racing together just because we 'it's not fair' to occupy an online lobby??

My friends and I can all play Battlefield together, always, everytime we want to, but not GT5, blame Polyphony, not us.

I don't discriminate against foreign people who enter though, I understand they don't speak English so can't read the title, we often let them race with us if they want to try our series, no matter who they are or where their from.

We now got a German guy 'Ralph', GTRP dude, who races with us regularly and doesn't speak a word of English, other than 'beer' and 'smoke'.

If anything, I kick fellow Englishmen more than non English people, they should read the room title, it's not exactly hard to understand.

We had a couple of English GTP ID's enter, they were complete ****, they got kicked, not before they got reported though (verbal abuse, childish sarcasm and swapping the mic between your group of friends to all say the same thing isn't a very good way to introduce yourself when entering a lobby).

GTP_**_*** I'm talking about YOU.

Without question, discrimination happens, that's part of human culture, but who discriminates against who and for what reason is as varied as the people who play GT5 and why, plus how, they play it.

The only ones I would personally be offend at would be the "I hate XXXXXX," as for people putting up rooms with , Brit only or USA only, NZ and Aus only these imo are absolutley fine, we should be playing with peeps from our regions, it does make for much better gameplay, it is still good to play those from round the world, and I often play with peole from all over the globe, sometimes there is a lag spike or two, but generally speaking GT5 does run quite smooth online......

The French are the worst online community, not just on gt5 but on any game I've had the misfortune to play them, they cheat, ram you off the track, kick you out of a room just for being a different nationality and they have stupid accsents. I don't even bother joining a French hosted room anymore.

You might actually find that the majority of these rooms are using these names to keep people away as they are intended to be private

I race in a race series which uses the room name **** OFF so people don't join and create lag! Although that doesn't stop them! This causes you to get DC'd sometimes which i have infact experienced!

Personally when i want a room for myself and chosen few i set the room name to Gay Boy chat only lol

Even the French, who are totally arrogant when it comes to GT5 Online Lobby's, understand that they should not join lol

I totally agree with the poster who said the French are the worst Online Community. Unless spoken to in French they are completely arrogant and choose to ignore you no matter what. I remember 1 particular case where i was hosting a Japanese Super GT GT500 race.

I had A French man in the room in a X2010. After being asked multiple times to use a GT500 or leave I was just ignored. I then asked him in French and he finally answered and told me no! So I kicked him. For up to 2 weeks after this everytime he was online he spammed my Inbox in ENGLISH!

I have no time for French people on GT5 or in some cases all together! Call me A Racist if you like but i really don't care

Yes, but according to different sources, you in the US have the lowest average internet conection speed in the whole western world. US players have one of the worst connection when it comes to online play.

The problem of this is that Lounge mode presents a change in physics to "Open" lobby! Ask any Serious driver in an online race series. Lap times on Laguna Seca in A GT500 race in A Lounge and i went 2.3 seconds a lap slower at my fastest pace!

Fact of the matter is if someone opens a room and asks you to leave politely what is the problem? If they have regulations how hard is it to follow them?.. When you are French this seems the BIGGEST problem of all! So writing a very un-polite Lobby name pushes these arrogant people away!

If someone label his room as English only (in EU region) I respect that and don't go there, that's ok. I also trying avoid Spaniards. But being kicked from room just because other nationality is wrong. I encountered this few times but problem can be worse for guys from Middle East or Asians (except Japanese maybe) I can imagine.

Also, last night we had a French driver who came into our race. One of my friends had a problem with it but I told him lets see how he races. We had some great races and the French driver was very good and won two out of the five races we ran. I sent him a friend request because I like good competitive clean racing. 👍

I met several players of one nationality who constantly rammed people off the track, now everytime I see that flag I am inclined to kick them immediately.

I've met more polite people from another and tend to give them more chances.

I've met so many of another who will not communicate and follow the rules about which cars we are using even though we've heard them speak English on their mics, thereafter playing dumb, that I don't ever want any of them around.

First impressions are important even online and the flag you fly ties you to everyone else with that flag. You have a responsibility to the flag you fly.

Absolutely. I often have negative experiences with people from Quebec, Mexico and the Dominican. But I will not immediately kick these players or leave the room. I will give them a chance, each and every time.

I will not allow bad experiences to control me and turn me into a racist, bigot or someone who discriminates.

Everybody in the world has some sort of aversion towards some nationality; that is just history and life, but automatically hating on everybody just because of a flag is so primitive, so ignorant, and so sad...

Now, about the blonde chick's video talking about Asians, well, if I were American and got thousands of people from other cultures (including Mexicans yes) breaking my laws, instigating disorder, or not respecting school rules, well I might feel the same about those people, but I would just not generalize against a race, stupid ignorant blonde, confusing a Tsunami in Japan with Chinese in UCLA.

P.S. If people from around the world go to the USA to benefit from them, why would they attack American culture and impose their rules, manners, etc.? That is just beyond me... If I go to some people's house I would not do whatever I want, I would abide by their rules, I'm the visitor...

I have almost quit racing online since I always [at least most of the times] get kicked as soon as I enter a room.

I think I can say that I've only had one(!) fully completed race, with all entrants completing the race. Everyone just leaves after the first corner, where it's clear that I've taken the lead.

I just don't get the point of kicking anyone just because they entered a room to have some fun with a video game. I have never had a headset, and don't see the point since most that is said is pointless ********. 👎

Yup, most of everything I hear is pointless/annoying conversation which is why I never use a headset and most of the time mute anyone with a headset. I mean, as long as the rules are clearly stated, thats the end of conversation for me...
