Which is your favorite track?

I voted Trial Mountain. I'm not exactly sure why, the scenery is excellent, has a nice variety of high speed/low speed corners, the last section is very 'flowing' and it just seems to suit my driving style down to the ground.

I'm also a fan of Midfield, but Trial Mountain is the one for me...

High Speed Ring since GT1.

Still one of my favorites too!

But as I am becoming a more technical driver and not just pounding the pedal to the floor I am starting to like the others more and more. But the High speed ring is where it all started.

1) Trial Mountain; I've always loved the course.
2) El Capitan; great for racing around in touring cars.
3) Autumn Ring/Autumn Ring Mini; regular for the big cars, Mini for the small cars.

Lol I was just checking the results and you voted 4 times! Stop being a fence sitter and decide! :)

I voted for Grand Valley East. It's a nice short test track, perfect for car testing. I also like the scenery there for some reason. Before I would have voted for HSR, but that's started to feel a bit boring.

Out of the other tracks Midfield has some sentimental value for me too, Apricot hill is maybe the most 'realistic' out of all these.

El Capitan

Trial mountain dont like because its too wide and they took out the street lines it seemed better to me with them, the scenery is awsome but i still like El Capitan better, F1.

Can't really name a favourite,

Trial Mountain has always been great as has Grand Valley (how many laps have I done round GV in endurances since GT1- probably a few thousand). El Capitan is the best of the GT4 original tracks and Apricot Hill is also a good track. Midfield has always been good for setup and comparing cars.

Ok, I'll vote for El Capitan as its still new and exciting but Grand Valley is second for old times sake.

High Speed Ring, I liked it since GT1 came out :)
(apologies if i copied your phrase unlimited zero, i did'nt notice)

Tough choice between Trial Mountain and El Capitan.

I like tracks that requires alot from the driver.

Between Trial Mountain or Deep forest.....

Trial Mountain.

High Speed Ring, I liked it since GT1 came out :)

Thats one of my favorite tracks also. I love the layout and how it feels. It's very friendly to my more dragster geared cars, allowing me to kick some major ass.

I also like SSR5 because in GT2 (and GT3 I think) it featured one of the longest (if not the longest) straights. The track itself was pretty easy to get used to and more entertainning than other tracks. I conduct most of my drag races there at SSR5.

All the original tracks have something cool about them. It's tough to pick a favorite, but mine would have to be El Capitan. There's something about bouncing around that track in a Group C car (GTWC), or any high-powered car that makes it my choice.

Apricot Hill and Midfield are my choices when I just want to race and not have to deal with a more technical track.

Apricot hill is a technical circuit

El Capitan is great but I really like High Speed Ring. It's great going around that track full out. It's fun coming out of one corner and just barely touching the raised lip of the banked sections of the track.

In GT3 it was Midfield, but I like Trial Mountain more now.

SSR5 and Grand Valley are close behind.

I like the High Speed Ring, however I like the one's from 1 & 2 better. It's where I raced my very first race. I remember saying when I was about 8ish, "Wahhhh! I can't do it!". I have come a long way.... :D

sorry to those who wanted the special stages :( i only put what was in the "Original Tracks" section of the GT4 menu.......

well, its looking like El Capitan is in the lead with 35 votes and Trial mountaing second with 23......

i really like the reasons you guys have given for why you like the tracks :p keep it up!

oh, and for those that didnt notice: this is a multiple vote poll ;) lol, i should have said that right off the bat....sorry!

I'm glad you chose favorite "original" track, and not track in general for this topic. I remember the other thread on this. Almost everyone said Nurburgring (me too) or LeSarthe (also a good track though). Mine is definitely El Capitan. It has a good variety of turns, and that straight near the end of the lap is well placed too. Don't forget the scenery, that also makes the drive more enjoyable

bump.......

i still want to know what you guys think ;) :p

Voted El Capitan. Definetely my favorite of the imaginary tracks. I love a good scenery, it reminds me of the rocky mountains which I live close by (alberta, canada), and the track itself reminds me of mountain highways and just the combination is perfect for me (I love the mountains in general). 👍

by no particular rank or order:

1: El Capitan - Great technical course a sure fire to test out your skills in any car

2: High Speed Ring - all time favorite since GT1 (i hated PD for taking it out in GT3)

3: Midfield - fun drifting action with straights to give the sensation of speed

4: Apricot Hill - one of the most "real" of the original tracks

5: Grand Valley Speedway - "THE" most demanding of all the original tracks, long straights to satisfy your speed hunger and highly technical corners to keep you in check.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread!

My choices:
1. El Capitan (my vote): Because it captures the spirit of Gran Turismo, a long winding highway; snaky, bumpy snarky turns and beautiful scenery. My only gripe is that it's too short...  ...a very technical track, and a short "Nurburgring" for me.

2. Deep Forest / Trial Mountain: Deep Forest used to be my favorite, just for outright speed and thrill, but I liked the GT3 version better.

3. Midfield: Liked GT3 better. Stupid wide curbs make it too easy now.

4. Autumn Ring: Nice testing track, interesting turns and camber changes make this challenging for big cars and poorly set-up cars.

5. Grand Valley: Great track, just don't play it that much.

...never really warmed up to High Speed Ring, just not enough drama... ...but it's okay.

Gotta love 1)Grand Valley
2)Trial Mountain
or what about that El Capitan -reverse for a real challenge!!! That crest is damn tricky to get right.

It's not in your list so I can't vote.. Apricot Hill Reverse, because it's design is so good it could be a real track..
I also like the High Speed Ring after it's makeover. Looks beautiful.

Apricot Hill has always been a favorite of mine, I find it an excellent track for testing and as has been said one of the few 'original' tracks that could be an actual circuit.

Tsukuba has taken over in GT4 from Apricot Hill for a lot of my testing now, but I still love to use it, I just wish that we had a wet version of it as well, actually I wish we had wet versions of all the tracks.

Overall I have to say that I have always been impressed with the original tracks in the GT series, its one of the things that realy set it apart from a lot of its competitors. I'm also glad that they have redesigned the tracks as the series has developed, most of the changes have been for the better, the only exception being SS11 (obviously not in GT2 or GT4), losing the evil chicane from the original GT version was a big upset for me.

The original circuits on other games such as Forza or Enthusia have some stand out courses, but not the same high level of consistent good design as the GT series has had.

I'm with you on that. There is nothing like a fast but safe drive or ride through the foothills and Rocky Mountains. I love going through Kananaskis country at a good pace, just keep the RCMP off your back. I love the El Capitan but the AI suck! It's only a challenge if you drive a much lesser car and if you get out front, it's over!

I voted for Grand Valley, I have had many good races on that track. I have to say I love them all. 👍

I miss the original R11! PD bring it back!

Very interesting. I just looked through the Poll Results and realized that you managed to put a vote in for each of these.
You aren't the only one that voted for more than one track, but I didn't realize that this could be done.

I (try to) learn something new every day.

Trial Mountain has always been my favorite track. I just love the way it flows. Nothing excites me more than just cruising around that track. I remember when I first started all those years ago I used to cut the last curve but over time my skills improved and now I take the turn properly like it is the most natural thing in the world.

On top of that, it has a monkey. And as the Barenaked Ladies say, "Haven't you always wanted a monkey?"

its always been a tie between Deep Forest and Grand Valley for me.
but now that they took some of the irritating bumps out of df it gets the edge over gv for me.
its just such a satisfying track to go fast on.
