I'm using the Bugatti VGT and I'm not getting higher than 5th place. Does anyone have a strategy suggestion? I'm changing to RH tires to see if it's possible to do this one with one stop.

I just do it with RS > RS and FM on 5, or occasionally 4.

You have to have quite a clean race to win, though.

Mazda LM55. Nothing modded or adjusted. RM and mostly at FM6. Pit at around L6 or 7. Easy win.
Wow! What a great car. Right out of the show room for an easy win. Thank you! So easy to drive.

I used the Porsche 919. I hope i remember correctly: After many, many attempts, i finally won it with soft tyres, rear aero at min and gearbox max speed set to 310km/h. No fuel saving, one pit stop and some luck at overtaking.
Good luck!

There are two different cars which one did you use the LM 55 VGT or the LM 55 VGT GR.1?

Base LM55 VGT is the answer from 800 to 950 pp races.

For Daytona, lower the downforce to minimum, lift and coast, short shift at 8k rpm during the race. Fuel Map is at 1 and Medium tires

Pit in at Lap 8 switch to Softs plus refuel. Lift and coast on the outlap then give it your all onwards.

Done correctly and you can set a lap time of 1:28s on Softs. ;)
