I have purchased every Forza game day 1 but I think I am just going to wait this one out. At this point I just don't have any interest in the next gen consoles and while I was hoping F5 would sway my decision to get the X1 at launch, the lack of weather and day night cycle has killed that buzz. The game is also sounding a bit rushed. So at this point I don't see myself getting the X1 until sometime maybe next year. I love F4 and I still have an insane amount of progress to make with the F4 campaign. I think I am only about 5% through the current campaign since I spend most of my time playing online. So plenty still to do. This will also give MS some time to work out the X1 bugs and problems. Plus I am still plenty satisfied with Forza 4. Still one of the best simulation racing games I have played.

What aspect of the game are you thinking they are rushing? Just curious.

EDIT:I Will not be getting it launch day, because all are most likely reserved by now. I will however get it within the area of launch.

In addition to being too expensive, what's also stopping me from getting this on day one is the lack of support for current wheels.

Yea I am holding off as well. Gonna spend my time playing and experiencing GT6 when released. Then probably late next year I'll throw down for XB1 and FM5.

I'll probably wait until FM6. The big AAA games such as The Last of Us, GT6, AC4, FIFA14 and GTA5 are still coming out for X360/PS3 and thus should be enough to interest me for the next 2 years or so.

Just because there are new models doesn't mean that my old ones automatically stop getting supported by developers.

Let's see...

1.: XBOne is 499,- and I'd rather spend that on a new graphics card sometime next year.
2.: Just bought a Fanatec wheel and there's no guarantee it'll work with the XBOne.
3.: Some nice competition's gonna be around with Assetto Corsa and Project CARS.
4.: Even if I was to buy the XBOne, I wouldn't go with one the early models (see XB360 for reference).
5.: With GTA V, Dark Souls II and the aforementioned AC and PCARS on the horizon, I won't miss that one game a lot.

Not me.

Some really good games are still coming out for the X360. Like NFS Rivals, GTA5, AC4 Black Flag, etc. So I'll wait for more games and a price drop before I get a Xbox One

Two, years? Wow I don't know if I could hold out that long. After seeing some of the E3 footage of next gen and FM5, I was looking at FM4 and I was like 'this isn't as impressive as it was yesterday' lol Took me a while to get over that. I think I'd have to go cold turkey on youtube gameplay videos for that whole two year period. Tried not to watch PC footage of BF3 for that same reason this gen (I'd watch in 480p to make me not feel so bad for must watches), and now for that game it's not just graphics it's 64 man servers.

Pre-ordered an Xbox1, PC build is going on hold til next year. Only one game out of the few I want to play on PC may be ready for 2013, that's Assetto Corsa.

At this time, I will not. Until my Fanatec gear works with the new console, I will not have the new console. That is why I am now on this site. I already had the PS3 so I picked up a copy of GT5 and the whole GT world is new to me. Should keep me busy for quite some time.

After hearing about the needed DLC at launch I will probably hold off until I get better internet. Plus I may be getting a 2nd job soon so I may not have time to play anything.

I'll wait a bit after FM5's release to pick it up. Not to read reviews or others' impressions of whether or not it's worth a buy; to the contrary. I already know I want it, and bad. I just want to feel out the market as far as the Xbone goes on release.

Mostly availability and such, although I don't feel like that'll be a problem given its less-than-stellar public image currently. I just don't want a repeat of the 360's launch with all the availability-checker websites and shortages and midnight waits. I'm an adult now and I'd like to take a more mature route toward XBone ownership.

Right on man. The 360 will most likely continue to spit out quality games for a good 3 years. Microsoft acknowledges and understands the importance of X360 sales..

Plus, the 360's exclusives is what always compelled me to not stick to a PS3.

Yea, right. I rushed out to get the X360 in late 2005. Between then and 2009 ended up losing two consoles. Third one was a charm though.

In no rush this time around. Definitely a sound idea to see what kind of reviews and observations come about, regarding the new hardware. And, in about 2 years or so, devs would have utilized a healthy chunk of the console's potential.

Did I mention I could use the price drop??!

My Elite that I bought ca. 2007 or whatever is still alive and kickin' today, never had an issue with that thing  And, yeah, a price drop would be very wellcome. I might pick the XBOne and the contemporary Forza up if the price drops a good bit (to, say, half of what it's going to be at launch), the Fanatec hardware is supported in one way or another and if I feel compelled to get Kinect for whatever reason.

Given that my GF is into Battlefield and stuff and that I don't want kids of my own in the next few years, I doubt that that's gonna be the case, however

I will likely wait until x-mas 2013, but I am very excited to get my hands on both the new HW and FM5. I know the risk of early hardware problems, but for me it's worth taking.

Not sure. I'd like to try the physics first. Prefer the PS4 as well. If I can find good online racing action, then there won't be hesitation.

To be honest, I'm not interested in any of those games, also if I wanted to play them, I could just turn off the new console and use the old one. I miss backwards comparability already. Never giving up my 60 GB PS3.

Yeah, I'm not in a rush to buy either of the new consoles.

Between the current racing games I'm playing, Presumably AC and pCARS out within the next nine months or so, the other 80% of FM4 that I haven't finished and FM 3 and 2 that I haven't started, whatever I end up with from the Summer Steam sale, the end of generation console stuff coming out like Beyond and GTA V (and probably GT6 whenever I get round to buying it), I suspect I'll have more than enough to keep me gaming for at least the next year without even thinking about a new console.

Your GF's into first person shooters??

Lucky!
Yup! When she told she was into games, I was like "Yeah, Prefessor Layton 'n stuff..." Never expected her to be into that kind of games. Not my kind of games, admittedly, but she's at least enough of a gamer to understand why I'm blowing a wad of cash on my PC over the course of twelve months

Yeah, there's that. At the moment, I'm not too keen on either console, but I dislike the PS4 less than I dislike the XBOne. Jumping into the fray blindly doesn't seem like the best idea, given the investment for this one.

May just end up waiting this one out for financial reasons. The last two FM's I preordered the LCE, but I just don't know this time. Got other important 🤬 to worry about (read: the real world).

I'm waiting a while for the Xbox One. My Xbox 360 is fine. I wish I still had my PS3. It bricked on an update a few days back.

Well. I'm not planning to get the XB1 anytime soon, nor the PS4 (which is for my younger brother for FFXV and MGSV: Phantom Pain). 👍 Pretty much GT6 will be my only game I'll be sticking with for quite sometime.

The way things are going, probably won't be getting it for a long while after release. I could buy the game, but I wouldn't be able to buy the console to go with it, so....

Probably going to be either GTA V or replaying old games until I can get the money together to buy the console and game.

Wow.. we're already in the age where we're discussing which console we dislike less, before they even get to see the light of launch day! Not sure what the gaming industry's going to look like 20 years from now.

Miss the good ol' days of SNES/Sega Megadrive or the PS1/PS2 and Xbox era. Heckuva lot of quality games coming out, and none of the politics or BS console race wars. Gamers were first priority.

I will not be day one, but I've never been for consoles. Let them work out any kinks and see if the price drops after a year.

I doubt that I will be getting it right away if ever. Several reasons not the least of which is that it doesn't look like it is going to support my Forza Elite wheel which costs more than the XB1. That alone is enough to make me not buy the game nor the system. The Kinect being in the system and causing it to cost more is another reason and of course GT6 is going to be available at about the same time so for me it is a no brainer at this point. I pre-ordered GT6 and will be looking into PCars.

I pre-ordered Forza 3 and 4 and enjoyed them for many hours of play but all things considered FM5 looses out, nothing to do with Forza but the XB1 is not an option at this time. Maybe if they create an adapter for the wheel and offer a version a bit cheaper without the Kinect then the story will be different.

Eh... You know, I think it's more down to how society ticks nowadays. With all sorts of information readily available on the internet, it's easy to research stuff. And it does make sense to research the stuff you're gonna pay 500 USD for. And that's partially down to the companies themselves with all their marketing and stuff.

Well... Back in the days of the SNES and (partially) in the PS1 era, gaming was more of a niche market. With the PS2 generation, there was little need for that sort of stuff - the PS2 won handily, anyway. Now, though... It's a mass market and some huge corporations are fighting tooth and nail for every Dollar...
