I hate Van Wilder. That DVD scarred me for life: "I think I've had this before!" :yuck:

I got couple of "Best Motoring" DVDs in the mail today:

1) Super Battle w/many exotics.
2) JGTC Official Guide

They were only like $7 at deepdiscountDVD.com, so I know it's going to be worth the money. I had their Drift Bible DVD before, but it's not like I'm into drifting, so didn't care for that one. :guilty:

Got the 2 disk set of "The Lion The Witch & The Wadrobe", you know.. The latest version, not the really cool BBC version.

I may give a review of it, depending if it inspires me to or not.

Got:

* Ong Bak
* Kung Fu Hustle
* Terminator 2
* Good Will Hunting

on Friday.

May do some reviews later next week or at the Weekend.

I've just ordered "the day of the Jackal" for £3.

You know, for a supposed movie buff like myself this is quite a shocker, but I've never seen the original before. I've seen "The Jackal" which was average imo, watchable but average, and I'd just heared this one get reccomendation after reccomendation so I checked online and saw it for £3, and bought it. I'll let you know what I think of it in the DVD reviews thread when it arrives.

I got the "Lost" Season 2 Set this morning. I had today off from a extended weekend, so I've been watching hours of it. I'm moving onto Disc 3 in little bit. :dopey: It's been pretty good so far.

I'll let you know what I think of it in the DVD reviews thread when it arrives.
When it arrives, or after you've watched it? I'm looking forward to your review. :p

Beastie Boys Video Anthology: The Criterion Collection
Groundhog Day

I got DVDs in the coming weeks. I've been growing the collection since June 2002.

I got the Office Space DVD special edition (With Flair!). I love that movie. I can laugh so hard no matter how many times I've seen it.

I got:

* 24 hour party people (including the soundtrack on CD)
* The Fresh Prince Of Bellair season 1

today, they were both quite cheap too.

American History X
Vanilla Sky
Jarhead
Spy Game
Suicide Kings
War of the Worlds
The Wall

And 3 others that I forgot about.

On Thursday I got The 3 Disc Criterion Collection Seven Samurai. Very good it is too with an enhanced picture (the film spread on two discs because of its length and the increased bit-rate of the playback), a sperate DVD of interviews, documentaries etc and a booklet with essays and info. Packaged very nicely with photos and designs from the film. Very worthwhile purchase of a classic movie.
Also got Season 4 of The Sopranos (for my mum)!

It was pretty spendy, wasn't it? I think I saw it on deepdiscountdvd.com for around $40. I have the original Criterion Collection print(with the coolest cover! 👍 ), and they did quite a restoration job on the original reel. Did you own this original DVD copy by any chance?

I don't know how valuable the additionally enhanced picture is, considering the age of the film, but added contents like interviews and documentaries sounds very enticing. I might have to get it.

The PQ is improved, though I never had the previous Criterion Seven Samurai. On a few scenes you can still see very bad scratches etc. But in general it has the best PQ I've ever seen of this film. The sound has been worked on too and is very good, even giving a pseudo-stereo track which works fairly well.
It cost me ÂŁ26 which isn't too bad considering it's one of my favourite films. I don't buy many SE DVD's or boxsets but I'm pleased I got this one.

Got Few yesterday.

*Pitch Black
*Chronicles Of Riddick
*High Fidelity
*The Crow
*Batman Begins
*Casino
*The 4400 Series 2
*Pirates Of The Caribean (COTBP)
*Willow
*Lost In Translation

I've just ordered Spooks series 1,2 and 3. I bought Get Carter (the good one set up north) and Buffalo soldiers last night.

Used copy of "Dark Water" for $2.50(booya!). I'm gonna write up a review in a appropriate thread.

cant wait.

Got "Truth or Consequences, N.M" for ÂŁ7 the other day, havent seen this film since its release back in '97 and it was a great film I also may do a review for you folks, providing I have the time (work is killing my review and watching time)

also got my mum a present got her the secong series of "Northern Exposure"

I've just ordered the complete Blackadder collection, then I spotted the only fools and horses collection and I was soooo tempted. £133 is a lot but 25 disks, I can't decide yet. I think I'll go for it, next month.

Last week I ordered Spooks series 1,2 and 3, I'm waiting for series 4 and 5 to come down in price. The fact I got three series for only a fiver more than series 4 or series 5 cost on their own doesn't make buying them yet seem sensible to me.

Today I got Lost Season one, part one for £12.99. Nine Lives (£3) & Telly Addicts interactive game dvd (£3).

hi guys, got The X-Men trilogy the other day, I was also looking to getting x-files series 1 to 9 from WH Smiths as they had them on offer for £20 a series, but justifying £180 on DVD's is a bit far, even for me.

In the last two weeks:

Saw 2 Limited Collectors Edition: Crappy sequel to a good movie, but the box fits perfect to my Col.Ed. of Saw 1  ....25€

Corpse Bride: I just love Tim Burtons style... 6€

Nikita Limited Steelbook Edition: Didn't watch iot yet, but the box was nice for that price... 6€ for a steelbook :D

Leon - Dir.Cut - Limited Steelbook Edition: My fav of Luc Bessons movies, in one of my fav boxes (in my collection) ...10€

and... City of God SE, Almost Famous SE, Coffee & Cigarettes, Ong-Bak SE, Team America and Nicotina all 6€

= about 80€
I guess a fair price
10 movies. 3 Special Editions, 3 Limited boxes...

We'll see what the next weeks bring^^

Hi guys, been quite a while posting down in the DVD/Movie section (work, work, work) but today I purchased.

Scrooged & Warrior King (aka: Tom Yum Goong). Watched Scrooged earlier tonight, as havent seen it for years, and its still a great film. Going to watch Warrior King later tonight.

Pre ordered POTC-DMC,

and got Series 1 to 5 of Sopranos for £30 a series, bit steep but cheaper than paying £60 per series.

I've recently recieved...

24 series 5
Mission impossible 1,2 and 3 5 disk special box set
Donnie Darko special edition
Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers box set

Well today got, "Night Watch", "Sky Blue (SE)" & "The Warriors (DC)".

got "The Warriors" for a crimbo present for a friend, but as soon as christmas day has come, I will borrow it :D.

DVD's considered today, "Black Adder collection", noticed you had considered it too L4S ;) also looked at "people under the stairs". I really want "Groundhog day" but HMV or Virgin dont have it, looks like it will have to be an online purchase.

Considering it... It's nestling neatly in between Band of Brothers and Dances with wolves.
