Pickups and SUVs may be the most common form of transportation in my homeland, but why in the world didn't Kaz put them in the game?

First of all, there are about 5 pick ups and like 5 more SUV (and those don;t include the racing/rally variants) in the game, but as for new ones, I could care less.

If Kubelwagens and Samba Buses and hot pink LFA's are in, just about any other suggestion you could possibly come up with at this time would be valid :sly:

BMW X5, anyone??

Sure! I would take a 'Top Gear Over-sized Americans' race over that darn Samba bus one any day. But there's even more to it than that. Stuff like the '92 GMC Syclone certainly deserves a place, especially when compared to some of the bland cars that made the cut.

EDIT: But back on the topic of newer ones, why not a newer Chevy Colorado or something like that??

The opportunities are truly endless, and surely not limited to consumer vehicles. On a side note, how about a 90s CORR Chevy Blazer Rally Raid Car? The Toyota Tacoma Pikes Peak racer? And, with the NASCAR license, a truck or two from the Craftsman Truck Series, or whatever its called now days.

Kei cars, hybrid > SUV, pickup truck
That's the trend in Japan, Kaz and PD's home country.

Well, if we lived in a perfect world, then I would say yes because PD would have enough resources to get all the cars we want in the game. Unfortunately in the real world, what they tie up in one project, they lose out on a another.

this is a sticker I have on the back of my car IRL:

That is certainly a sound argument! I must confess that if I was the head of PD, I would get some of the gargantuan American trucks in and surely skip over plenty of Suzukis and the like...
Bottom line is that car choice will always be lamentable for somebody.

Do you wish there were Tahoes, Suburbans, Expeditions, Explorers, and Durangos were in the game?

No.

Why must some Americans still be obsessed with gas guzzling, monstrous vehicles, when most of the time they are used to putt around the city. Even on top of that, taken to the race track. Not their place, sorry.

I wouldn't mind a Cayenne Turbo...but then again there are no Porsches. Other than that I don't really care for SUVs or trucks.

Voted yes. I would love to have a fun little race or 2 around the TGTT with some SUVs.
BTW, what's it matter if a vehicle guzzles gas. The only thing it hurts is the wallet of the person who drives it.

Emissions plus depletion of the Earth's resources. I don't mind SUV's if they are used for practical reasons, like moving lots of people, but for a 1 macho man, thats stupid.

I will agree that using a SUV for transporting many people is very practical, but when it's only for 1 person, then it's useless.

But, hey, it's a game so emissions doesn't come into play here. We can all have fun :)
I personally think the car list is pretty short-changed for Europe.

Random Stuff (not aimed at anyone)
Probably the only alternate fuel car type that produces no emissions, even though it hasn't really been mass produced, is the hydrogen car.
Electric car: Where's the power come from? The power plant. Guess how they NORMALLY get their power? That's right. Burning fuel and other combustibles.
Hybrid. Pretty efficient till the battery runs out (then the engine has to charge it or the outlet has to charge it), then its efficiency is thrown out the window.
Ethanol: Has already been proven to be less efficient than Gasoline. (I can't be bothered to go find the report now, but it's out there)
Diesel: Still burns and puts emissions in the atmosphere.
Clean Diesel: I know nothing about this

Yes, the F150 Raptor I think deserves a place in GT as at least a standard car let alone the GMC Typhoon and Cyclone

No.

Give me a break. How many POS cars are in the game that shouldn't be on the track? I can think of a few production trucks & suv's that would smoke 25% or more of the cars in the game.

edited to add: And why do you care what MPG they get? Do you think these race cars (save for 1 or 2) are flying around the track & saving the earth at the same time.

Don't generalize all americans being obsessed or the fact that "monstrous vehicles" putt around the city, im guessing that if you live in a section of BC half as rural as my town, or even 20% as rural as my town you know that trucks have a purpose......

and c'mon samba buses are just famous campers

For the MPG, I was referring to the real life versions. There are race versions of some trucks that would pass, but not production versions. No thanks.

Give you a break? You asked a question, on a forum, where people give opinions, so you got an answer. No.

I didnt ask any questions and while i respect your opinions i dont respect the generalizations of gas guzzling Americans. You treat others how you wish to be treated yourself both offline and on

That's a "truck" in the same sense that the X2010 is "the fastest racing car in the world".

We've had plenty of threads on the truck/SUV percentage of GT5's vehicle list. It may have been news when the list was released, nearly two months ago, but it's been covered since. So I'm not entirely sure what purpose this thread serves past becoming a) another argument-riddled thread (which is already starting, or b) another wishlist.

I'll leave it open for now if it can somehow avoid both of those.

I agree with this statement. I could elaborate but I have no desire to begin a political debate, sorry.

Also, the fact that the Syclone was left out is incredibly sad, even if most of the PD people have probably never heard of it.
