this is a sticker I have on the back of my car IRL:

You, Sir, have won 1.763 million internets. I'd love a smaller version for my Civic. All these SUV morons drive like they own the road and try to bully our smaller cars around (especially on the highway). Can't stand it when I commute to and from university.

If a Stock 4500lb SRT-8 AWD SUV can walk on an 63AMG like that then you have to admit -- why 10 variants of everything? (Yet I was pleased to see there are both 94-02 Camaro SS/Camaro Z28 variants..)

TrailblazerSS/Syclone/Dakota-RT/Jeep-SRT8/Caliber SRT-4 etc... to at least name a few CREDIBLE SUV/Pickups from "America" that should be in (besides those already in, I mean come on, a Ram 1500, but not a Dakota R/T?)

please end this, its gonna get more convoluted as more people post truck/suv wish lists and more people bicker or whether or not tucks/suvs should be in gran turismo

trust me im the op from an earlier truck thread

I was about to point out the fate of that thread. Except this time it's "compacts vs. trucks" instead of "europe vs america."

Arguing that no one really needs a 4 ton truck to haul themselves to work is like arguing that nobody really needs a four-door, five seat 1.5 ton car to do the same. Even if one gets you 15 mpg and the other 25.

Because the truth is: Nobody really "needs" all that space/power/convenience/comfort in one package. You can argue about needing to haul your boat... or having to do groceries... or weather... but a huge chunk of the Earth's population does exactly what you do with a car (except hauling a boat) with nothing more than a bicycle or a motorcycle.

There are a few SUVs that ought to be on the list... the X6, the Range Rover Sport, the Cayenne... but GT5 didn't get them... maybe in GT6?

I'm hoping, though, that PD decides to give us a bus as DLC in the near-future. Rear engine, rear wheel drive... ought to be lots of fun. Or even a London Double-decker... would like to replicate the EVO track test they did with one...

For the MPG, I was referring to the real life versions. There are race versions of some trucks that would pass, but not production versions. No thanks.

Give you a break? You asked a question, on a forum, where people give opinions, so you got an answer. No.

I did ask a question, & you chose not to answer it. I'm not the original poster incase you didn't notice.
These were my questions for you (relevant to your comment) since you missed them the fist time around.

1: How many POS cars are in the game that shouldn't be on the track?

2: Why do you care what MPG they get? Do you think these race cars (save for 1 or 2) are flying around the track & saving the earth at the same time.

Wee need a ford MB or Willys so we can race the kubel and schwimmwagens. And this fancy american race series where fully moded pick ups race in a stadium around a dirtrack like a motocross track (cannot remember the name) thaut would certainly be fun.
Ohh what about monstertrucks?? Could be funny too crushin these small underpowered <30 hp ricers lol

I'd like to see more race cars instead. Less trucks/SUVs/60s japanese crap cars with less than 30 BHP etc

This isn't a thread about wanting more race cars

How are they ricers if they don't even look the part? O_o

So what you're saying is we need to beg Polyphony to start working on Tourist Trophy 2. :)

The game hasn't sold that well in the US (not surprisingly) so why PD would cater to the US audience in this regard i have no idea. Luckily they didn't or else we'd be seeing a bunch of hideous looking and handling pieces of crap in the game. I'd rather they added regular, current cars that also have no pretensions to sportiness than SUV's.

It was an elaborate way of saying "no, I don't want pickups or suvs", which was the poll question. *rolleyes yourself*

Then, instead of going off topic, stay on topic by directly replying with a "no" instead of a "I would rather this".

I could go on all day about what I would rather have instead of SUV's and trucks in this game, but this isn't the topic for it.

Ricers as term for small engined japanese cars, like that subaru or the midget II... and some others u thumble over in the game.

If you look at what I did to my midget. . .
Those things are fun to drift.

I have a drifting Subaru 360, Daihatsu Midget, Fiat 500f, Toyota Sports 800, etc. They're fun, but REALLY slow.

The game could do without them, but they have a purpose for me.

I won the lightweight cup in my midget  didnt have to brake once.i wonder even if i had to lift my foot from the accelerator once??
Havent been drifting so would still be the crushing for me.

I didn't know this was a pure yes/no forum, but thanks for the heads up; YES.

No. I want more pickups and SUV's about as much as I want more delivery vans and flatbed trucks.

My Grand Cherokee ST8 should be in the game. I can get to 60 in the low 4's...stock. That is one SUV that would appeal to the 'driving' crowd.

haha thanks. I got the sticker from a fellow mini driver so i'm not sure where to get it. SUV drivers are similar around here, and they're mostly driven by a bunch of arrogant gold digging wives who think they're hot stuff in their pathetic Escalades or Navigators.

What pisses me off is that there are, but they are pointless. You cant even use them in the truck race. My 89 Pajero Rally Raid Truck would have smoked that event.

I vote NO. I would have much rather had 6 Japanese crotch rockets than how ever many "racing trucks" that are currently in GT5. It's a half a$$3d class and poorly thought through. But I regress, I'm happy with the game.
