What other cars handle like the Elise/VX220/Speedster?

Despite the fact it has a totally different drivetrain, the Swift is very chuckable too.

There is a car that has a very fun handling, I can't remember the name, I think it has a logo with a wheat crop in it.

you're talking about hommel or oulim, but I personally don't like these cars

Oullim Spirra, surprisingly fun car to drive and the engine makes a really happy sound.

Dunno about RS tyres though.

MG TF160

This car's excellent with a light tune and has the MR go-kart feel to it. Dunno about RS tyres either, I only use them on cars that need them.

The old, square '86 MR2 is also pretty fun. I've only tried the supercharged one, mind. The '97 MR2 chassis feels twitchy, and the GT-S has too much power / torque for me, but they're OK, too.

-ASL Garaiya,
-Toyota MR-2 (any year)
-Lancia Stratos
-Mazda-Autozam AZ-1 (it needs more power and a bit of a careful touch, but it handles like a dream)
-Suzuki Cappuccino
-Mazda Miata NA
-Diahatsu (the red concept that I dont remember the name)

...and other similar low-weight, sports oriented cars.

OFC-1, I think. Probably very similar to the Swift (which is a great handling car).

Good list 👍

Is the AZ-1 similar to the Honda Beat? The latter is a bit twitchy, but lots of fun, too, especially with a mild tweak (say, about 100 bhp).
In the same vein, there are the old Honda S cars (S500, S600, S800), but they're really quite slow in stock form, thanks to the engine inertia issue.

The Beat feels somewhat weaker than the Autozam in my opinion, but it's much more forgiving.

The S Hondas have almost no torque. I find it very difficult to keep them going. Or maybe I haven't found the proper way to tune them.

Yeah, their lack of torque exacerbates the inertia problem. You've got to twist the mass of the engine parts before it'll get up to speed, and that takes forever because it's modelled incorrectly (too heavy) - the car will never accelerate quicker than the engine can free-rev, and revving these engines takes an age, which is so very wrong! The Ginetta and the Caterham are similar in this respect, but they don't have quite the same torque issue / tuning limitation because the engines are bigger / newer.

ruf 3400s anyyone? ( is it in the game i know it was in gt4 because i did many many laps of the ring in said car)

One from left field is the Storia X4. It has incredible grip; on some tracks you can literally drive around the entire thing full throttle. However being a 3-pot, it has next to zero torque. Even bogs down at the start with full revs on 👍

Yeah, it's fantastic. The CX is good, too, although it's a shame it doesn't sound like a three-er when you change the exhaust on it. It's comparative lack of torque is not due to the engine configuration, rather to the capacity and state of tune (in fact, the X4 is a four-pot anyway). They're both turbo-charged, though, so the torque figure will be relatively "high" for the capacity (probably at least 100 Nm), meaning it should actually be pretty sprightly (if I remember correctly, a friend of mine's mother used to have one of the three-bangers, and he said it had a surprising amount of poke).

I suspect it's another victim of the engine inertia problem, being a Standard and all.

Yes it is in GT5, I have a pink one. Not driven it yet, though, so I can't comment on it.

Thanks for the input, I have started searching for your suggestions on the UCD to give them a go.

Just to be clear, I am not planning to use RS tyres on the cars. I meant that I am looking for small, light cars in the 400-500 pp range that have handling characteristics that can easily break traction even with RS tyres, just like the Elise/Lotus/VX220 do.

If you want a light oversteery car, you might wish to try the Toyota FT 86 Concept (the one which has been included from the start), it's a lot of fun and breaks out easily but remains controllable when it does.
A fully tuned Mazda Autozam (think it then has about 448 PP) is a lot of fun too and don't forget both RR Alpines (the A110 and A310), if only these cars were Premium I'd drive them much more than I do now.

Lotus Esprit (premium one) handles like a DREAM! Actually the new GT-86 handles rather well also, both are very well balanced

I found another one. I never expected it to be that quick and have such a great handling.

The Peugeot 106 Rallye. It only weights about 850kg and you can push the engine close to 160HP (in N/A). It admits turbos, but I'm not sure of how good it will work with one of them since it's engine is too small.

Plus, it makes a great rally car as well. And for some reason I find those stock wheels to look absolutely stunning.

It's true. I just tried one and didn't expect to hadle that good. I remember it in GT4 as being terribly understeery and weak. It does lack of torque, but it isn't that terrible.

A fully tuned Autozam has absolutely no problems understeering on racing softs.

Iremember haivng a few pics of me drifting on racing softs with mine, although I can't find them.
