What racing game started it all?

Pit Stop & Pole Posistion probably the first both on C64

But wath really got me into racing games was REVS, also on C64.
I think the main reason I love Silverstone that much is becuase of REVS

For me it was GP on the PC it came out in 1990 and based on the 1988 season of f1.

for me it was some f1 game on Atari 2600
but most memorable was street rod 1 and test drive on C64
i still play street rod on my PC

First game was Grand Prix 2 for the PC. First PSX game was Driver.

I'm going to have to agree with Rad Racer and Race Across America for the NES. I'm sure there were cool racing games before these but these are still played by my friends and I today and they are still as fun now as they were back then. These are truly benchmark quality.
