I seem to remember racing Bathurst in the either TOCA 1 or 2 (when it was just a racing game) and having some great battles.

Hmmm... suprises? Lambos would be a nice suprise. :dopey: A photo mode photo-printer giveaway would be a nice surprise. :D A Dodge Viper SRT-10 giveaway would be a ******g nice surprise!

They were actually Formula 1 cars not Indy's.
They actually look like their actual real life counter part, but that cant be said about their odacious exaggerated overperformance

Was their performance exagerated?

They seemed to be just about right compared to the GT-One or R390

If I had to choose which would actually make it, I'd have to say thae beautiful Sydney, Australia would make it along with Bathurst. I don't know about the streets of Sydney, but if it were included, I'd love to see the Sydney Opera House in the distance. I can imagine racing around with sunny, blue skies. If not that, I'd like more of an evening setting.

been there done that. In PGR2 (lots of configurations for tracks as well, not just one road track)

It would be nice in a gran turismo game too, but they'd likely just dump one racetrack configuration, possibly too (like the seattle and Rome short tracks).

Yes they were, as an example. I've done a 1'06.894 at Monaco "cote d auzr" in real life the F094/s equivilant was the 1994 Willaims Renualt FW16, that year's Monaco GP MS turned a 1'21.076 with no TCS, Damon Hill went out of the race early "caught up in a wreck before the first turn" he too drove a FW16 but I dont know any of his lap times druing the weekend so I cant draw a better comparison other than the 2nd best car in the field at that time MS's beneton ford. Its documented that GT3's Monaco was about a car width wider than the real life track. Still a 14 second gap is quite a bit, exaggerated they are. Top speed was about right though, cornering was where it all differed.

1.Porsche ,ferrari ,Lambo.
2. Real smoke from burnning rubber, and doing donuts
3. Real car tuner such as AC Shnitzer ,Hamman ,Hartege ..ect

:O :)

The only thing that I want else in the game, the only thing is Lingenfelter. Nothing would make me happier than racing a 2.9 0-60 Vett.

How about Port Lane and Cathie Straight for drag racing?!

Now since none of you know what I'm talking about, I'll explain myself: Port Lane and Cathie (pronounced cat-eye) Straight are two long straights up to 5km long near my home town where P-Platers like to drag race in Friday and Saturday nights. Mind you, the cops have cottoned onto what they're doing now, but if PD sticks them in at least I'll have something local in there.

I'll shut up now.

Personally a 1/4 mile straight is the same pretty much wherever they put it, I hate to think that PD would place 5-6 of these 'tracks' in the game sacrificing what could have been another 'real' track... 'real' as in a racing circuit, either a PD created one or a real track.

not really. Some have better traction, some have undulations, some are wider, some have better facilities. Oil spills, years of burnt rubber and warped asphalt all make them different.

there seems to be alot of people whjo think drag racing is just getting in the car and stomping the gas. I guess if your driving a 45 hp diesel Golf it would work that way, but trust me, with 400 hp, theres alot of set up and driving involved. The adrenaline rush is awsum.

i think dragracing will be a lot more complicated than most of us think.....just think about it..........racing is all about technology

Yep, if PD is going to include dragracing, they're not going to do it half-@ssed.

Well if say, 5 x 1/4 mile strips = 1 circuit.

I'd rather have two new circuits than 10 different 1/4 miles. My view is there is not going to be a heck of alot of 'set-up' changes from one to another, what you can do at one, can be done at another, thus no real reason to have more than 2-3 at most!!!

And if you did really want GT4 to reflect real world activities, circuit/rally FAR outweighs drag.

As far as I know, PD have announced that the only drag strip in GT4 will be Las Vegas. However (and this is pure speculation on my part), there may be more in the form of sections of tracks - eg the main straigh in New York - that might be isolated for a drag race, but I seriously doubt it. It's a possibility as a means of including more drag strips in the game but without having to code everything, but an unlikely possibility at that.

Either way, I'll only be drag racing as much as I have to - once I've won all the drag-racing events, I won't play it again. But this I think raises another issue - it would get boring after a while. Maybe if PD used a tennis-tournament style format where yourace one person and if you win you go on, if not you're out. So 16 cars becomes 8 then 4 and then 2 for the finals with third and fourth being fought out just before the main event.

Yeah, same Do you race? I'll be doing as minimal drag-racing as can possibly be done while completing GT4...

I drive enough straight 1/4 miles while shooting along circuit straights!!! (and they're all flying 1/4's :D )

Drag racing isn't just going in a straight line (oh yeah, ask ME about drag racing...). You have to control your car down the line with all those horses behind you. Look at an NHRA event here in America or FIA Drag Racing in Europe. Not as easy as it looks. I dig the fact it's not easy.

OMG you have convinced me of the drags sheer brilliance and skill factor, not to mention it's overwhelming excitement, cancel all circuits, delete the Nurb' lets just have 500 1/4 miles... that's 1000 tracks in reverse!!!

 I wouldn't buy GT4 if it only has dragracing tracks on it
It WOULD BE VERY BORING 👎

Well, I won't also do that much drag in GT4. I'll complete necessary events and maybe do some from time to time but IMO the coolest way to do drag will be multiplayer: doing a 1/4 mile against your friend can be awesome.

See ya :sly:
