It came up with the ****** because you are not Banned, so therefore you cannot use that title.

Just like you can't use Moderator or anything as your title.

here's a big hint on getting your post count up (and it's not called postwhoring) don't stay in the one or two forums, explore all of them and reply.

Nope, you can't add banned in your title because you're not banned.
 
In the vB control panel, webmasters and admins can input words that aren't allowed for both usernames and custom titles. I wonder if "Banned" is in the username filter?

Jazza- Since member titles don't support vB coding (at least for underlings), you won't get the tags to disappear (assuming that's what you where trying to do). ;)
