You can get the instant RA menu on G27. Also has most buttons on a ds3 all infact, apart from the ps button

Fanatec GT3 RS has all of the buttons on DS3 as well (except the PS button). they just aren't labeled as such. I assume most wheels do. You can use the RA menu with it if you want to but it seems to make more sense to me to just use my controller for that.
 
I got a cheap, used DFGT from the net. It's purpose is just for enchanced realistic game driving and for more control in the car, which also adds fun when I'm playing the game.

I disagree, i quite like changing my brake bias for example whilst driving using my wheel, instead of going all the way to settings
 
I use my G25 for racing and cruising, I use my DS3 for attempting to drift.
 
I have 4 wheels, DFP, G25, GT3RSv2, and T500 and I use a DS3, even sometimes with my wheel. The poll wouldn't allow me to cast a proper ballot. Results will be erroneous.

The only wheel on the market that can fully utilize the higher resolution FFB in GT5, or any game for that matter, is the T500. The high end Fanatec wheels are still using a Logitech emulator. Simple, the best wheel for the current gen of "consoles" is the T500. There are far more expensive and better built wheels that are only compatible with PC sims.

I liked each of my wheels, each has improvements over the one below it. Fortunately, it comes down to budget. If you can spend a little, get the DFGT, absolutely the best budget wheel! Fanatec wheels can do things that Logitech wheels can't, which gives them the edge in the middle price point.

I also own the HKS controller, really frustrating. The full range of gas and break "pedals" only use about 1/3 of the total throw. Ugh

Thank you that helped me loads, because i had a G27 till the left motor blew up, so im buying T500.. Just wanted to hear opinions

You might want to wait to see what's going to happen with the PS4. I don't know how close you are to pulling the trigger. Plus Thrustmaster just announced a new add on wheel. I think it might even ship with a new base.

Get a set of Real Triggers. They do help you focus on making small inputs. They're only about 5 bucks. They snap onto L2-R2.

What about replacing the motor? It is do-able.

It had multiply problems, fixed it twice lol i was getting a new one eventually

I'm not sure what you're getting at there. I never said anything about going into the settings menu to change brake bias, that would be silly and would make shuffle and spec racing impossible without ABS. I could do it while driving with my wheel if I wanted to, but as it's not something I need split second access to I find it just as easy to change while driving with my controller instead. I suppose I don't really need to have my horn or headlights or the ghost toggle right at my fingertips either so I could use the controller for those but I just prefer to have those on the wheel and the adjustments on the DS3.

What i mean is, rather than going to the main lobby menu to change those settings in the RA menu, i much prefer doing it on track.. I find it easier, thats just my preference

I'm sorry, I guess I'm just not making it clear enough what I mean. I'm saying that what you seem to be describing is exactly what I do... changing those settings while racing on the track. I simply have my controller sitting on a table next to me while driving and use that for adjusting the RA menu options on the fly(and for using the windscreen wipers should I feel the need to use them in the dry).

I could do the same with the wheel itself but I prefer to have different things mapped to the the wheel's buttons. So while some wheels might have controls mapped for the RA menu by default, that doesn't mean you can't use it with any other wheel that has buttons.
