So again, What would happen if I do this:

-I copy my save data onto a USB
-I give a friend a 0/0 car
-I put the save data back from the USB to the PS3

Do I still have the car?

Yes.

Is there some kind of max size of the file at which I can do this?

There are no max file size restrictions for duping, no. There's one for the permanent borrowing glitch, in case that's where you got the idea that there may be.

Some call it "cheat". But I`m not one of them. :sly:

cheat: Act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage.

No, don't see how that would apply either.

Well, if that is the definition...

How would you call a situation where you send/sell a car/ticket to somebody and keep the item after the trade is done?

To be fair: Exchanging items with keeping the given item is a win/win situation. Everything cool, I guess. :sly:

Favor for a favor, gift exchange. The word trade is the most common misconception on this forum. There is nowhere in the game/instructions that tells you to trade? rather gift. They easily could have used the word trade but they didn't for good reason. "Trade" was something created by this online community. :sly:

That's right, you don't really trade, you gift. You gift a copy of your car or item to a friend. :sly:

We can get deeper in this discussion. Gifting (for me) is giving without exspecting or asking to get something back. Or am I wrong? I don`t think so. :sly:

You're certainly not wrong, and I'm sure there's a lot of gifting going on, but within certain societies, gifts do not come without the expectation of a return. As example, if person A buys person B a birthday present, person A generally expects to be gifted back by person B on their birthday. And if person B fails to gift person A back, person A might withhold gifts from person B in future. I know there are still a lot of people who like to gift without any expectation of return, but there exists a societal structure around gifting that indeed has the expectation of return. Yet, we still call these gifts. I believe irrespective of your expectations upon gifting, gifting can still be the appropriate term.

There, that's the best I can do.

there is another way to do it without a usb flash drive as soon as you press ok eject the disc and it wont allow it to save

The safer non USB method is to create a second PS3 account with no GT5 save data, and use that instead of the USB.

Our world is doomed... ("If I gift you something you have to gift me something [more expensive I hope]")

I gift without expectation. But I might be in the minority... :guilty:

i'm sorry.. what? (it's prolly very simply but what does this accomplish?)

You'd copy your main save over to another account that has no previous save, then after you send the car to whoever from the main account, copy the save from the second account back over to the main one. It'll work so long as you don't start the game on the second account. Hope it helped! 👍

Asked/answered. Lock time :)

As for the duping/cheating ongoing forever argument...

Whatever happened to gameshark? No one ever wrote angry letters to them.

Don't listen to any of them! Your PS3 will self destruct & the PDBI will be at your door with a warrant before you can say GT5... ;)

Gifts are given with no expectations of return:)👍

Trades are made for exchange of goods:sly:👍

To keep balance, I do both:tup:
