I didn't say anything about changing oil in the middle of a race.
I said, changing oil in the middle of a series. (like at the end of every fourth or fifth race, in the series.)
As a series is much like a season, it would indeed be realistic to be able to change the oil.
I'm fairly sure that no racing team runs an entire season on the same oil.
As far as enduros, With an option to save on pitting, you could have even longer races being feasible.
Plus, not everyone has 2-hours where they can just sit and race.
The ability to save in the pits will benefit those of us that have 30 minutes here and there to play.
Who the hell would EVER play a 24hr race if you didn't have the ability to save in the pits or even pause. It would NEVER get done EVER and frankly if you have 24 hours to sit on your ass and play playstation then you are a loser. Beyond that in real endurance racing they have multiple drivers, not one guy driving for 24 hours.
The enduro races in GT3 aren't even really endro races. they are actually normal length road races but due to the time they take (average 2 hours) in the video game world they are endros.
My wishlist for GT4, sans car specific wants.
I'd love to see a save in the pits option for the endros...
I'd love to see save a series in a series but have the ability to leave said series and come back to it.
I'd love to have the ability to change oil at the beginning of each race in a series
I'd love the ability to make minor modifications to the car in the pits (suspension, sway bars, downforce etc)...not gear ratios or stuff that realistically isn't changed. Give the pits a point because right now they have none.
I'd love to see changable weather conditions during a race, forecasts and track changes. The ability to pit in if the track gets wet and change to rain tires or vis-versa a dry line appears aftr some rain and you want slicks again...
I'd love SNOW rallys
I'd love more REAL tracks (monza, nurburing, imola) and REAL classic rally stages.
Fuel levels. Nor at first this might seem a pain in the ass...but...I'd love in endro races (60lap+) to have to figure out a fuel/pit strategy. Start with a full fuel load but be slow for a 1 stop strategy...or run ultra light for qualifying etc etc. Also the car performance changes as fuel decreases like in real life.
smarter AI that doesn't ram you if you are on a different line than they are and cross theirs. smarter AI all around actually.
mechanical failures in series racing and/or flat tires...make it more interesting.
