I voted for GT6, considering it will be released for the PS3.

First of all, the PS3 still has some juice on it. Or a lot of juice. It has Bluray, it can do 3D, so it's not behind the tech curve. I don't see Sony releasing the PS4 any time soon, considering now that the PS3 is becoming profitable.

Also, PD won't make a release game. They'll get to know the hardware. Every GT game seems to defy the possibilities of the PS in which it's released (and all other consoles, for the matter).

If tradition and history says something, is that there are 2 GT titles for every PS.

A full game can bring much more than DLC, even if it's running in the same base engine.

I have faith PD has what it takes to extract all that juice from the PS3. As they did with the PS2. Boot up GT4 or TT, and you'll see something that was unthinkable for a game system released in 1999. 1080i resolution? Those reflections? Those car models? Yes, they did it.

Also, if you note, from GT to GT2 and from GT3 to GT4, there was more than just an increase in content (cars and tracks) There were new modes, improved graphics and physics, etc.

Maybe the debate should be around the development cycles for GT. Should it be based on smaller cycles, like Forza/Dirt/NFS? Should they drop some things to focus on others? Like focusing on GT6 instead of making GT6P, GTPSP2, TT2. Abolish those slower cars and focus on faster beats?

The idea of DLC can be interesting if free (I'd hate to pay $30 in content for a $60 game), but I'd be happier if those guys were focusing on a new better GT.

Peace.

Definitely work on GT6.

Quite a few advantages in that.

-We don't get the good stuff in GT5? Put it on GT6 = expectations would be better satisfied (as compared to now)
-Better chance of GT6 being on the PS3 rather than the next generation
-The time used to develop GT6 instead of DLC content
-Missed content on GT5 will be placed on GT6 and thus more content

Think of GT5 as a recession.

GT6 will flourish.

This.👍

I'd much rather like PD to spend all their time working on GT6.

I think GT6P would be a waste of time. Would be much better to give DLC for GT5 while working on GT6 rather than creating a GT6P. The DLC could even pay for the development of GT6 while giving us something to keep us interested in GT5 right up until the GT6 release day.

Seems like a win win to me.

Seeing as the PS4 going to be released in 2016 (based on the 10 year gaps between all playstations), and lets say it takes PD 3 years to make GT6, thats almost a 10 year wait. But If PD start the same time as PS4 developers, and maybe even collaborate with them, GT6 will be the most awesome thing ever created. I voted don't release GT6 on the PS3 because the graphics aren't going to be any better, it's just going to be new content. which can be just DLC.

GT6 for PS3. I want them put in things like

*900 steering animation
*all GT4 tracks
*try to work on to get all GT4 cars to have cocpitviews (even if they are generic to some extent).
*More focus on important premium cars to sport car history (moder japanese classics like ae86, mr2, supra mk4. Modern european classics like e30 m3, ford cosworths(sierra and escort) More iconic european sport cars from the 60's and 70's.
*Extensive track editor would be nice extra if it is possible.

Of course all these could be DLC but new updated game would be a better option.

No matter what they do. GT6 will be a multi disk game. Think about this. Gran Turismo features 180 cars and 11 race tracks. Gran Turismo 2 features nearly 650 automobiles and 27 racing tracks. GT3 has just over 130 cars and 19 tracks(34 counting reverse). Gt4 had over 700 cars and 51 tracks. GT5 has 200 new cars and a smaller track list than GT4.

If this pattern continues I think we can expect GT6 to be like GT2 and GT4. A HUGE number of care and tracks. If GT5 fills a blueray then GT6 will need at least 2.

I want a little DLC but not too much. If Apricot hill and Midfield are truly out then those are the tracks I want in most. They are obviously going to make them for GT6 unless they have gone retarded so when ever they finish them just release them as DLC. As for car packs I don't really have to much of a preference as to which cars come out. But each pack should include at least one of the following: A classic car(race car or not) a modern/new street car, a modern race car, and a supercar. There should also be a couple more novelty cars released. Oh and the Nike car. If the DLC's are expensive there should not be too many because I don't want to have to pay a lot for something that I'm just going to get in GT6.

I don't get why some people in this thread and other places are talking about removing novelty cars and slower cars. That is one of the things that makes GT so great. Being able to race a large variety of cars. From a entry level sports car that most any person could buy all the way up to monsters like F-1 cars and Mazda 787b. If anything GT needs more slower and novelty cars not less.

Sounds okay, but we *need* DLC content{everyone else does it}..........

DLC is done with 80% of the game releases as soon as game is out. It is very likely that this is the case with GT5 also. Look at amount of tracks that are missing that have been used in GT5 advertising.

I really hope that DLC tracks are somehow integrated to singleplayer mode!

Like others have said they may have left out tracks because they didn't have any room left on the disc and didn't want to double production costs when they would only put a dent in the second disks space and they could just release via DLC and possibly make more money on it.

And yes I hope tracks get intergrated into single player mode 2. Perhaps you can choose which set of tracks the series will be raced on in the menu. Or perhaps make the series longer like make a 10 race series into a 12 race one.

There's certainly a lot that can still be added to make GT6 leaps and bounds above GT5 so I vote for that. DLC is good and all, but unless it adds tracks/events to GT life mode I don't care about that side of it. DLC cars will be nice though unless they are arcade only too.

GT5 will take me forever to get tired of. I would rather them release GT6 in November 2012 or so. That way, all of the new cars and tracks will integrated with all the new features. DLC is only that great for Online Junkies.

But whatever, it's not that big of a deal either way. As long as we don't have to wait 5 more years. :scared:

Well, they should just ignore GT6:P, make a hudredish new DLC cars, few new tracks, and still work on GT6. Even just make already modelled GT6 cars/tracks GT5 DLC, minimising development time.

And add livery editors for GT6!

It's ten years life cycle, not one system every ten years. If that were true, then the PS2 would have been released in 2005 and the PS3 won't be released until 2015. It's more like a 5-6 year life cycle so far. Though that should expand, since the new systems can be upgraded to be up to date with technology alot easier.

Sony will probably introduce the PS4 by the end of 2012{or something similar}, but that doesn't mean that the PS3 will die off right away. In fact, the PS1 lasted up until around 2004, mainly thanks to 3rd party developers......and that was then. Imagine how much longer the PS3 would last with that kind of support!

Seeing as the PS4 going to be released in 2016 (based on the 10 year gaps between all playstations), and lets say it takes PD 3 years to make GT6, thats almost a 10 year wait. If Sony doesn't drag their feet and insist on another GT for the PSP or something stupid like that{since the first one was somewhat of a failure}, if PD plays all their cards right, not only could we see it for the PS4 in say, 3.5 years from now, but we might even get a decent Prologue, too{not to mention having loads of new cars........how about another 600?}!

And that's part of my case for a 2012 PS4 release as well.

I can not see PD making a release title. It takes time to develop the code, and time to model tracks and cars. A release game IMHO is out of question. I do not mind waiting, because I know PD delivers.

For example, GT3 had less content than GT2, and it was awesome. And it still took quite some time to be delivered.

Also, GT5 will be a first in the series I'm many ways (damage, weather, online, full B spec mode, cockpits, day/night transition, etc). I guess that is the foundation for what they will refine to GT6.

Peace

They tried that on a Prologue build. Didn't look good at all. 👎

Yes because they used PAD. Current animation looks distracting with wheel.

they can easily add tracks (with weather stuff), cars of all sorts, prolly even additions to the gran turismo part of the game ect. through DLC.

if they just keep us occupied they got alot of undisturbed time to create GT6 for "next generation console", and hopefully this time hit it same time as release.

HOWEVER. who knows. they might be working on both, but only slowly starting the GT7 for next gen.

kaz said that developing GT6 wont take too long.

THis all depends on when PS4 will be out, wont it? :P

DLC in bucketloads a good idea. HOWEVER i think they should add the ability to import it into GT6 then. (especially if it costs money..)

If they release GT6 on the PS3, we all know that it will effectively be the game that GT5 should have been. Sure there will be a few extras and enhancements, but for the most part it will not represent much of a leap for the series.

With that said, I'd much rather PD got right to work on GT6 with a view to releasing it on the PS4 much earlier in the consoles life-cycle. In the meantime, just give us some good free and paid DLC to keep GT5 fresh while we wait. From a business perspective, frequent updates via DLC will give them just as much profit as a full-blown release of GT6 on PS3, but with far less effort needed.

GT5 will be updated LOTS during the remaing years of the PS3 and surely the PS4 is the way forward for PD

I still think they can and likely will do both. DLC for GT5 and GT6 on the PS3 hopefully released in about 2 years. If they are using the same game engine then they can release new tracks and cars they are doing for GT6 as GT5 DLC.

Naturally they will not want to release everything but they could release whatever they want. Not only would it be good to keep us interested but it would help them develop GT6 and would not take much additional time away from GT6.

GT6 for PS3 is very, very likely. As is DLC for GT5. I think both is the way to go, at least from a marketing standpoint.

What they should add are the more important cars that have been recently unveiled and are missing in GT5, as well as cars that are going to be released in the near future. Maybe some of the most demanded standard cars as well.

GT6 should then ship with a premium only car list. I think they should be able to cover most of the important car models with ~500 premiums, which isn't too unreasonable.

In terms of tracks, PD should add some new tracks via DLC. GT6 should then come with all features on all tracks
