Call my mum's car which I drive alot 'batooti' which is arabic for ducky ,seeing as from the back it looks like one 06 Nissan Sunny in questiom

We have:
Red - Mazda MX-3
Pato - Mazda MX-5
The Baron - BMW E39 Touring
Marvin - Mazda MX-3

We've had:
Ellie - Mazda MX-5
Windy - Mazda Xedos 9
Blue - Honda Accord Type-R

I don't name my cars but I refer to my RX7 as "the rex" or "the slotary". A friend has a couple names for his E28 which are "Babe the Big Blue Ox" coined by another friend, and "Billie Jay" because we found that pin striped under the trunk lid. My mom's old Corolla was called "Big Face Rollie" after a Jay-Z lyric.

Besides that, I don't look at cars as friends but as machines. I get attached to them because of what they provide me, not as if they have some sort of personality. That's what kitty cats are for.

The Focus is named "Felix" and the Neon is name "The Pistachio".

My Camry is called "Brownie" (Is brown)
My Excursion is called "Red or BIG Red" (Is big and red)
My son calls his Geo Storm "Betsy". (looks like a "Betsy")
My Daughter in Law calls her Kia Soul "Elphaba" (After the witch in "Wicked")

When my wife and I first got married we had a VW Bus. It was called "the Moose" or the "Breadbox".
It was shaped like a loaf of bread, and the person my old man bought it from had Moose Appliques on all the windows. Made it easy to spot in a lot full of V-Dub Busses.

Over the years, I believe I've owned about 2 dozen cars. Only a handful got names.

Some cars NEED names.
Some don't really deserve names.

A friend of mine names all my cars. For the Z06, she came up with "Selena". I don't really refer to it with a name, but everyone else does.

Oh and my sister has named the Audi "Jonathan", not sure what that's about.

I understand why sailors called their ships she, and I guess it carried over from there but for those without that history ingrained in them I never got why they call their cars by girl's names? Apart from some aspects of aesthetics there is nothing feminine about cars at all!!

It's a code so no one listening on the waves is the wiser.

Cuz only a woman would trick you in to spending so much money on her and then be so cruel...

My car is affectionately know as Tara, as in Tara Reid, cuz she used to be hot, but hasnt aged well...

I call my Evo "The Shnevo" not really sure how it came about other than my friends slurring their words

It was lovingly named by my sister. "Wilbur" Cause he's such an old man.

Mine came with bent edges on the trunk (which was fixed immediately). My wife said they looked like elf ears, so the car was named "Carwen". In keeping with that, our white FX-35 is named Shadow FX.

I'm started to feel left-out...:(

Any ideas what I should call my Mk6 Fiesta? :sly:

*realizes he's just opened the floodgates*

My sister called her two Opel Corsas Izzy and Ruby.
Not into naming cars myself but when I was younger I called my dads 1930's ford and Opel 'the oldtimers' for the obvious reasons.

I haven't really given any of my cars names. I had a 1990 Toyota Corolla which I called 'The Rolla' but everyone here calls them that. My red MR2 has been called ELMO by other people because the number plate starts with ELM and it's red. I don't call it that though. The girlfriends car was a maroon Diahatsu Applause with unbalanced wheels. We called it Zoidberg because of the sound the unbalanced wheels made when you drove it.

Have you ever posted about your MX-5?
Technically it's my wife's, but I don't think I have. I did take a photo of it which I used in a GTP blog article though :D

The Terminator.

It's lumbering, looks robotic and will end its relatively short life in an hydraulic press.

Not cool Famine...Not Cool.
No once else here is being rude, yet you just had to.

My Fiesta is hereby called 'Cosmos'. No, seriously don't ask.

Designed obsolesence. Ford are demons for it - moreso on the Fiesta.

For fun, have a look at the sales figures for the Focus and Fiesta in 2003. Now see how many you can find on AutoTrader/eBay.
