I normally don´t tune cars that much, but due to the lack of things to do in GT5, I decided to have some fun with low HP cars.

For example: I love the VW Bus, and had one stock since I got it the first time. But I wondered how far can this beauty go...

I went crazy purchasing all the upgrades and put it to a test...

The numbers weren´t so impressive:

160HP
100ftlb
980kg

My surprise was that when i raced it on the Top Gear track, I was able to beat Mustangs, Imprezas, Camaros and SL500´s. I won by quarters of a second, just bearly overtaking the SL500 before the finish line, but I was completely impressed!! I wonder how that guy in the SL felt when he was about to cross the finish line, and was overtaken by a VW Bus...

So... What is your low HP car that you have turned into the ultimate sleeper?

This is the monster, BTW...

Daihatsu MIRA TR-XX Avanzato R '97

204 hp and about 600-650kg (i don't remember now)

love that agressive look :D it realy is pure fun to drive it :D

well, my brother and i do challenges like this all the time. he was in a lupo cup car and i was in a fully moded mini cooper (minus any power upgrades) and the thing was perfect. even with a whopping 112 hp it was the most fun i've had in a long time. got it down to 948 kg with fully adjustable suspension and transmission, plus chassis rigidity add on. thing was a beast. was pullin 1:52 around cape ring periphery and walked away from the much lighter and much more powerful lupo on equal tires.

I never made a sleeper, only a Schwimmwagen who makes me laugh every single time i go make some drift sessions with it. Extremely funny

My Fiat 500F, fully modded with engine upgrades and a spoiler + carbon fiber hood.

Started with 17hp, now has almost 90hp.

Wrecks those Veyrons and X2010s :P

My nissan micra... Was the first car I ever drove in real life and on this game it just makes me re-live the experience :)

I'll add a Vote to the Samba Bus for doing Mad things with , got mine up too 210 BHP

Then Entered it in the Level 9 Historic Pre 69 Race at Laguna Seca , talk about having fun well beating a Feild full of Lambo's , Vette's e.t.c is a laugh

I've said this time and time again, but I must say it again.
The Honda Odyssey :D:D:D

Hahahahah I thought I was the only one to create a Space Odyssey. Mine has slicks, outrageous camber, low enough nose to slice frogs in half and more than 400 horsepower. I did a sub 8 minute lap in it on the ring.

Here's a couple crappy pictures:

The Honda Odyssey :D:D:D

There was a guy running an Odyssey during a GTP event last night. The thing was all over the place but he was staying out front for the first few minutes on the Ring.

My favorite so far is the Mk1 GTI. Not really a monster but with a 50% power boost the thing is a dream around Nordschleife.

My favorite little beast is the '70 Honda 1300 Coupe 9 S (200 HP 800 KG). Awesome little FF car, drives like its RWD.

My matte pink Odyssey did pretty well last night on the Ring. Took 5th place though I was overpowered by 75hp. :)

Alfa 156, Kubelwagen, and Fiat 500 have all made good project cars for me.

Gotta try the Samba bus at some point!

AW11 (i.e. 80's) MR2; started with just over 110bhp and ended up with 250, 990ish kg. Great car, not the fastest but very fun to drive.

Also, my Speed 12. I did nothing to it, just learnt how to drive it!

Nice. I really love that car! It stayed near my friends 527 HP RX-7 FD3S! Best Kei car to have fun in on GT5.

Fiat 500 (new one) 88hp to 256hp

Yep, the new one is great, mine's got about 285 Bhp right now, not even fully driven in yet (which seems to be about 300 kilometers, at least for the high-performance cars) but don't forget the old one too.
I've got one with 90 Bhp and weighing 473 kg and it's rear-engined making it a hoot to drive around a short, twisty track (on long straights it's ofcourse limited by lack of grunt).:D

Nice pics i like the look of that samba bus.

Thanks!
I loved the wheel, color and exhaust combo.
The racing exhaust looks even crazier, its like some sort of trumpet coming out from below the car. I used the semi-racing just for the pic since it looks very elegant. Normaly I have the sports wich has a correct boxer engine sound. The other two sound terrible.

I haven't tuned up my Volvo 240 but I'm planning to and will make it faster than an Evo X...if that's possible
