Mmmm... I am interested in that  Any picture Elstro?

There are some photos in my gallery of the '49 Beetle beating Lambos and Ferraris - the gallery link is in my signature.

On topic, another force to be reckoned with despite a lowish (310bhp) max output is the VW New Beetle. I set it up using RKM's Golf GTI RM settings with soft racing tyres and, for the Nordschleife, a rear wing....it ate up a couple of M5s and an R8 after that.

Be warned, the New Bug has bags of lift off-oversteer once tuned...

I may look stupid, but why are those cars called sleepers? My favorit car fro these is new F 500 since the first online challenge with restrictions.

I was surprised to how the Mazda Carol lets it's rear out, for around 60hp, the car is almost a driftcar, and it's RR, like a Porsche :p

The Honda Life Step Van, it is great on London track, beat cars with more HP there with it.

I'm building a Vauxhall Corsa, seems it could surprise.

i've bought a few cars to test out and see how they do, even a PT Cruiser :p

The Tires Used on the Bus in the Pictures, which ones are they? I like ones with writing on the side and these look cool but I have not seen them

Daihatsu MIRA TR-XX Avanzato R '97

204 hp and about 600-650kg (i don't remember now)

love that agressive look :D it realy is pure fun to drive it :D

What a fun car! I just won the poliphony digital cup race at Trial Mountain with it and I didnt even need to block on the straights.

An online one make race with this would be a blast.

A Honda Beat can be a fun one since it's so light.
The Sirion X4 can be quite powerful if you really boost the turbo since it starts out so light and also has around 115 HP before any modification. It's 4wd so it can stick to corners pretty well.

I think the Beat is more fun though. It's so small!

I raced with someone online who took the Daihatsu Midget (I believe) and stuck a supercharger on it and he said it took it from 17hp to 120ish. That thing is pretty light too, and looks like a little dump truck runner. Can't go wrong with that!

My Volvo 240 GLT Estate ‘88 had 127 bhp before a tuned it a bit.
Now it has 309bhp and I think it weights about 1500kg but it's still going slow. I guess I should upgrade the gearbox and reduce the weight as much as I can too.

the scheibleweiblewagon or whatever the heck it's called.... I doubled it HP from like 40 to 80!!! Its a beast now and can actually break triple digit MPH!

Has anyone seen the Reanult 5 Maxi Turbo Rally car? What a beast it is!

It's only got a 1527cc 4-cylinder engine, but it can knock out an unbelieveable 486bhp, and 54kgfm of torque fully moded!!! It's light as a feather too, weighing in at only 905kg, and good for a les than 6.30.xxx at the Nordschliefe! 👍

I normally don´t tune cars that much, but due to the lack of things to do in GT5, I decided to have some fun with low HP cars.

For example: I love the VW Bus, and had one stock since I got it the first time. But I wondered how far can this beauty go...

I went crazy purchasing all the upgrades and put it to a test...

The numbers weren´t so impressive:

160HP
100ftlb
980kg

My surprise was that when i raced it on the Top Gear track, I was able to beat Mustangs, Imprezas, Camaros and SL500´s. I won by quarters of a second, just bearly overtaking the SL500 before the finish line, but I was completely impressed!! I wonder how that guy in the SL felt when he was about to cross the finish line, and was overtaken by a VW Bus...

So... What is your low HP car that you have turned into the ultimate sleeper?

Everyone who has done the first TG Challenge can blitz that track in the VW Camper. Its one of the easiest way to have a fair race online. Lol.

Just want to second or third this one. The XX is amazing! Only use sport exhaust though, car can't use the titanium as the engine has ZERO low end torque

Just a couple of my little beasty AZ1 :)

I'm currently making a tiny monster out of the pint-sized little Ginetta. Not even turbo'd all the way yet and boy does it haul the mail. This is going to be a fun one.

I had the new Fiat 500 fully tuned and for 250HP man did it move. I also have a fully tuned 1949 VW 'Bug thats fully tuned and while she doesn't move real fast boy is she fun.

One thing I hate is how GT5 doesn't have an accurate depiction of possible tuning of an old VW (bug or bus.) Those things can easily be tuned to 200 hp and I've seen them much higher. They absolutely rule the 1/8 mile tracks and can do the 1/4 mile in the 11's. You can youtube examples.

Honda Insight '99

166HP and a top speed of around 148mph (177 in a streamline). Turns on a dime and doesn't slide around. Just about the most fun I've ever had in GT5 racing on the Nur 4H event with it.

Caterham 7 Fireblade. Just finished with it. Bloomin brilliant, turns well, tail wants to slide out a little, yet it is still surprisingly fast around my own created test track.

im going to see how much i can get out of the 79 Civic 1500 3door. ive had it sitting in my garage for months and havent done anything with it.

Your being over laped

I have to agree that the VW bus is awesome, I fully tuned mine (Large turbo charger too :p) I think I managed just over 190hp? It's so much fun though and I thought it handled pretty well :sly:
