Whats the best low HP car that you have turned into a monster?

I haven't tuned up my Volvo 240 but I'm planning to and will make it faster than an Evo X...if that's possible

Shouldn't be too hard, the X is a bus. An IX or VI Tommi, now that's a challenge...

Mitsubishi CZ-3 tarmac

This sub compact hatchback is AWD, lightweight and have 220HP to begin with.

I found a Spoon Civic Type R (EK) '00 in the ucd. Tuned to around 240hp and it is quick and on rails. I won one of the expert tuner races with it beating out gtr's and an Audi tt twin turbo.

Toyota Vitz RS = 245bhp/sub 1000kg i guess...i don't remember since i'm not using that car anymore.

I'll have to agree about the Fiat 500F, earlier today I won the Suzuka race in the Nostalgia Cup. I've seen and heard about lots of people winning around Laguna but i've yet to hear about somebody beating them at Suzuka. I have a picture for proof and i'll eventually upload my reply on to youtube at some point.

For online racing? It doesn't really start with low HP, but my Caldina can take out some pretty impressive race machinery on the 'Ring. For an actual lowly car, the '02 Cube I've got is capable of sub 8-min laps :D

Well, my favourite three are:
1. March 12SR - tuned, handles like a dream, is actually pretty fast too. Pics in my gallery, which is in my sig.. ;)
2. Fiat 500 '08 - This thing + Sports/Medium = never ending grip and pretty good power. In yellow with red wheels...
3. Mazda Autozam AZ-1 - Even stock this thing is a great little drifteer, but tuned this thing is facking BEAST! Pics also in my gallery ;)

Thanks:tup:

Its the flying brick. And I got to say it handles a little bit like one too:scared:

Lower it. A lot. And stiffen the suspension. It handles nicely then. My bus has 202bhp and can almost keep up with a 96 Elise.

I've monstered my Volvo 240 as well. Just over 300bhp and that'll handle nicely too once I've sorted the suspension out properly.

WHAT!??? How did you managed that!!? OMG!!:scared:

It didn't involve many crashes like you might think either. I had to do quite a lot of blocking on the straights, but you can make so much time up on them in the first half of the lap you can just about hold on. You need to get in front of the car by the tight hairpin, otherwise the Muira will just drive away from you on the two or three long straights after.

The Supra RZ is potential while tuned properly, even though it has 725 hp. But the hp/weight ratio is pretty good.

I just finished tuning the Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzion '91 with all upgrades and managed to beat the Tuning Car Championship with it. It has around 430hp going up against 600+ hp skylines and s2000s. It took a few tries setting up the suspension and LSD (the thing loves to understeer), but it was the most fun I've had in the game so far and was incredibly satisfying once I actually beat it. I'm still messing around with the tune to get it better just because I love the car so much. I figure I'll use it on all the rally events too, but that will require another setup entirely.

These are my little beauties :dunce: :

Nice Autozam. I have the same wheels on mine.
But is it true that the 500 can beat bigger and faster cars? You´re like the tenth person I´ve seen with the little Fiat turned into a beast. Not to mention that other guy that won against the Miuras and Countachs.
Guess I´ll have to try it myself.

Tommi ZZ-R

315hp 667 kg :)

It's soo fast i got kicked from a server in a 375hp race LOL

I also love my Motul Civic race car as someone stated earlier

but my favorite car has too much powazzz haha 1031hp viper ACR at 1247kg hehehe

ford focus st, tuned up to 365hp with the engine worked in, beats NSXs and ate a 700hp mustang alive around nurberg

My Vw bus is 208bhp 931 kg dont think it will go anymore, i saved a great lap online were i was racing 3 caterhams (2/3 decent drivers) and came third doing a 8'03.9 but will a rolling start it will do under 8 minutes at nurburg.
I love doing sleepers ive got so many, here a list of a few,
193 bhp panda
111 bhp midget
913 bhp silverrado SST
605 bhp rx7 fd
283 bhp Suzuki GS R/4 588kg
The suzuki is mad quick for 283bhp i often join 4/500bhp and win so far ive had 6'34.9 at nurburg

Got so many haha cant remember them but its fun making sleepers.

GTPers who know me will already know that "sleeper-creator" is my middle name...I did a thread similar to this not so long ago about being surprised by the low bhp cars...looks like I wasn't alone! I have a whole fleet of little giant-killers:

Vauxhall Corsa Comfort '01 - 205bhp max, comfortable Tuned Turbo, PD Cup and European cup winner.

Mirage 1400GTX '78 - Similar tale to the Corsa.

Daihatsu Sirion CX '98 - only 172bhp max but easily competitive across the board from Beginner to Expert level.

VW Kuebelwagen - 109bhp, multiple winner including classic car cups, Euro Hot Hatch league, Clubman.

Fiat 500F - No need to go into this machine's prowess...see above ;)

VW Bug - 89bhp max :( My most successful car, won more races than both my Ferraris and all my 600bhp cars, with a total of 21 different race wins. Most satisfying result was second place at the Supercar Nostalgia cup (proof is in my gallery) If the Fiat 500 is capable of winning that then surely the Bug is too, but it's almost 200kg heavier.

Citroen 2CV Type A '54 - Only 61bhp max but with a mere 450kg weight it can pull a few wins out the bag. I wouldn't use it above Amateur-level unless you're a beast of a driver.

Mazda Carol 360 Deluxe - Felt this was the most ignored car in the GT franchise...61bhp max again, but a porkier 550kg, so not as nippy as the 2CV and has a tendency to kick its back end out. Again, capable of winning a few lower-level races, and more in the hands of a skilled driver.

I also have a Sambabus and it can also do well in the Supercar Nostalgia. It's amazing how quick it is once you spend time on it.

Mmmm... I am interested in that  Any picture Elstro?

I've got a couple of low powered beasts.

1 - A race modded Cappucino which somewhat drives like a mini X2010 (brakes, pah!)
2 - A Peugeot 106 modded to 200+ HP, from the tiny 900kg package.

Both are excellent and a ton of fun. Also have a Schwimmwagen modified to 63 HP, but it's not very fancy nor fun.
